newly renovated room, hot running water, comfotable beds and a very clean bathroom. the staff were nice, and helped us with luggage before check-in and after check-out.

no soundproofing, you can hear the screeching floors of the old building and noisy neighbours. €50 is required, as warranty, although no mention of this during the booking. We received it back at check-out, but a heads-up would be nice (cash payment/physical card only).

The rooms were very clean and well maintained, bathroom a little narrow but really modern and everything you could need in the room (no tea or coffee but there is a machine in reception to buy it). It’s right in the centre of the red light district on the Main Street so location is great (for adults 😂) staff were really friendly and helpful. Anything extra we wanted or needed they helped us no questions asked. For a hostel it’s really nicely decorated. Overall I would recommend.

the windows are thin and you can hear the floor above you SO much it sounded like they were shifting a wardrobe 😂, so I’d advise ear plugs at night as it’s extremely loud (ear plugs sold in reception). But once the ear plugs were in a slept all night absolutely fine. The stairs are very steep and there’s no lift so it’s not disabled friendly.

Cheap, close to most activities, room was bigger than expected and had wifi, towels, bed linen, shampoo and hairdryer. We had a bathroom in our room with shower!

Extremely steep staircase (but very typical Amsterdam and something to be expected almost everywhere). They were renovating the reception area, however they did not start early in the mornings so it did not affect us much. At night it was loud, from the streets and from other guests, however it was managable.. bring earplugs! Wish there was an AC in the room - noise would have been less if we could sleep with the windows closed but it was just too hot in June. Getting über/bolt to this area is hard because of the small streets and canals so don’t bring too many suitcases - you will have to drag them around.

The lady recpectionist, are very helpful. Travelled from Australia and read all the good reviews. I came in much earlier, and the lady stored my bag while I toured Amsterdam during the day. The place was very clean, The beds were comfortable. The showers were newly renovated as will as the toilets. You had complete privacy in the modern bathroom with a huge twin basin. Lockers were provided and solid. The sercuity at night was good been in the middle of the red light district. . They acknowledged everyone that came in. A place I would thoroughly recommend, and the next time, I will be back here at Heart of Amsterdam. There are no challenges or any improvement required.

There wasn't any did not like.

The location in the heart of red light district was for us a little surprise and perhaps we would have chosen something different. But it was an interesting experience for sure! Expect the crowds roaming the lively streets and a lot of noise. The hotel is situated in a charming old house by the canal. During our stay it was under renovation. The rooms were already done and especially the bathrooms were great! The breakfast was good, worth the prize. The staff was friendly. We were able to change the room during our stay (because of noise in the downstairs corridor).

There are a lot of fairly steep stairs, if your room is upstairs and even to the breakfast room in the basement. Part of the charm of an old house! If you are easily disturbed by noise, perhaps better to choose something else. Downstairs corridor was noisy at night.

The property is very typical of Amsterdam. The rooms are modern with a great bathroom and everything you need for the stay. The staff is super kind. It’s located in the really heart of Amsterdam. Really close to metro station so it’s very easy to travel around the city and arrive from the airport. The lady at the check-in was super nice to get informed how I could reach the Ziggo Dome without calling a taxi and save some money. Perfect for families and friends.

The stairs are really typical of the area but probably if you have a big luggage that could be a problem. I’m sure the staff will take care of that because they’re very nice.

The location of the hotel is really "in the heart of Amsterdam", right at the end of the red light district "de wallen", it doesn't get more central than this. There is a lot of traffic in front of the hotel, but you don't notice anything inside. The rooms are quiet and the lobby stylishly furnished. The price beats everything, really good value for money and very accommodating staff that's available 24/7

A really small point that irritated me is the "staircase maze": there are several paths to the room and it is relatively winding, but definitely has its charm

The spacious room and that it was cleaned regularly as guests left. I stayed longer than anyone in my room at the time and as each guest left the room and bathroom was cleaned. Also the young lady at the reception, I wish I caught her name was so friendly. She checked me in on the 30th of November around 8pm. She was so kind and gave me lots of reassuring information about my stay. Please extend my thanks to her. Another benefit of the location is the >5 minute walk to the metro and only one stop from Amsterdam Centraal. Super convenient location that made getting around the city super easy. Also the minicards at the door were super great for finding deals and things to do close by.

The only complaint I have is typical hostel things that are out of the hostels control like guests taking up the bathroom for too long or leaving it messy and disorderly for the next person.

Stay was for 2 nights midweek - 4 females. Right in the centre of Red Light District. 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Train Station. Staff where friendly. Top floor room provided great views. Room appears to have been recently refurbished. Fresh towels provided each day. Bathroom was clean and modern. Nice smoking/garden area at back of hotel. Very good price for what we got, we all said we would stay again. Adequate for a few night trips for a small group :)

Beds are narrow and matresses made from foam, not sprung = No support. Although not an issue for us but might be for some with mobility issues... The stairs are very steep (like most of the older properties in Amsterdam).

We opted out of the hotel breakfast, so I can't provide any feedback on that aspect. Nevertheless, the location was fantastic, and the hotel's name truly reflects its charm. Our room was perfectly sized for two adults, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere complemented by a canal view. The mattresses provided unexpected comfort, ensuring a restful night's sleep. A locker was also available in the room for added convenience. Additionally, the staff at the reception desk were exceptionally kind and polite. Even after we checked out, they proactively offered to store our luggage. Although we didn’t need this service, the gesture was greatly appreciated.

Installing a more powerful exhaust fan in the bathroom would be beneficial. That's all.
