Tulip Of Amsterdam is a proper canal house. It's charming, cozy and friendly. It was a very authentic Amsterdam experience, and our hosts David and Chris were among the nicest people I've ever met in my travels.

Just across the canal is the Red Light District. You won't experience any problems from your room, and the area is ultimately relatively safe, but it does mean that there are sometimes groups of poorly behaved tourists. The RLD is one of those things that's worth seeing once and then probably never again. NB: Amsterdam is currently considering a proposal to move the Red Light District- this review may soon become obsolete.

We loved the location and were surprised at how spacious the room was! The owners thought of everything we seriously could not think of a single thing that we would have needed while staying there. The bed was also very, very comfortable and for that alone we would probably stay again.

The one thing we did not love was how thin the walls were. The property is a traditional building and charming if you like character. We found it a bit hard to sleep when people were walking around or simply talking in other parts of the house late at night or very early in the morning. There is absolutely nothing the owners can do about this and I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

getting the chance to live inside one of these old Amsterdam houses but in a modern standard , it is very well maintained , well decorated , very clean , nice staff at the heart of Amsterdam close to everything , room very nice , host is very helpful

very small stairs as most of the old house style , a bit challenging if you have big suit case , however all was managed

Traditional canalside house, very hospitable and helpful host, large clean room with everything one could need - fresh fruit, muesli bars, microwave, coffee maker, kettle with a wide and generous selection of teas as well as a little box saying "Forgotten anything? You may find it in here" which might be useful to some and a fantastic folder with lots of useful suggestions of restaurants, shops, things to do. All at a great price for Amsterdam.

We didn't have a canal view from our room but that wasn't a big deal

A charming property that is - for Amsterdam - spacious, comfortable and quirky. The hosts were incredibly attentive, approachable and accommodating. It was genuinely more like being at home than away - except for the fridge and coffee machine magically restocked and the room cleaned itself. It was a surprising oasis of tranquility in Amsterdam’s insane Red Light District. We loved that calmness; if you are looking for a place to have parties, this is not for you.

The bathroom was very cold. That that is the worst thing you can say about this place probably tells you everything.

Chris and David super friendly and helpful. Best hosts! Exceptional decor, vibe and thoughtfully created including all the personal touches you just dont get in a hotel. David even brought our bags up and down the stairs so we didnt have to. The property is right on the canal on the doorstep of the Red Light district yet super quiet and peaceful, and full of character and personality. I would give them 7 stars if i could.

Nothing at all. It was perfect and exceeded all expectations.

David & Chris were excellent hosts. They even had a vase of Tulips in the room. Lovely accommodations and amenities. The location is excellent. Train station a twn minute walk. Shopping, restaurants are un abundance. The canal cruises are worth it. I came on business and for visiting Keukenhof Gardens.

The only issue for me was the steps. It is a 1600 year old building with steps from that area. I have a fractured foot, which I had to be careful of. I have no other complaints.

Great location, just a 10-second walk to the metro station. The room was cozy, clean, and well-equipped. The travel advice from the host was extremely helpful. I even saved the website with their favorite places in town, including cafes, restaurants, bars, etc., for future reference. I got a taste of how amazing Amsterdam is from the host and from the stay. Fantastic experience!

Location was incredible - easy walking distance to any neighborhood in Amsterdam Centrum. The charm of staying in a nearly 400-year-old house is unbeatable. Coffeemaker in the room was excellent. And hosts David and Chris are attentive, friendly, and all-around good people.

Listing advertises cable TV, however the only TV channels available were on a web-based app called "Rakuten TV". Not really a big deal though, as we spent most of our time exploring Amsterdam.

The property was immaculate, and steeped in history as our host Chris proudly explained. Our room was presented perfectly, again very clean and attention to the finer details were certainly not missed. We felt so welcome and relaxed from the very start. They have prepared for each guest a very comprehensive booked of which covers every cruise available, recommended trips. The entire stay was beyond expectations and would highly recommend

It was perfect
