Hotel was a good base for a long weekend of celebrating my daughters 21st birthday and St Patrick’s day. Location was perfect, though being right in the red light district and having the pub downstairs we did expect some nighttime noise and we were right, still managed to sleep though. Staff were all really friendly and accommodating, and rooms were more than big enough with a closet, sink and clean towels put in every day. Sharing the bathrooms was ok, despite our worries we never had a problem and they were cleaned thoroughly each day. The breakfast was basic but fine for a little refuel in the morning. We were a mixed group of olders and youngsters and it was suited to us all, beware of the stairs though, they are steep and we had a couple of fallers that took some souvenir bruises home !!

Loved the location - everything a tourist would want in amsterdam, even the traditional steep stairs. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Great music in the bar downstairs. Housekeeping everyday.

Breakfast wasn’t the best and the rooms were a little dated

The staff were incredible. Super friendly and helpful, very homely and warm feeling. You felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as you arrived. It was like visiting friends rather than a cheap hotel. We even spent a while chatting in the bar. We felt very secure because of the card entry policy between the door from the bar to the rooms. The location was great, and it was always easy to find. The pillows and blankets were so good! We love that the bar was open 24/7 but locked after dark, so you get a drink anytime.

The noise from the streets could be pretty bad, but if you put in some earplugs, we were fine, and the staircase was a nightmare for my tall patner (but thats not something they can change though).

Location in the heart of the red light district, so noisy until 03.00 (but that was expected). Close to Dam and central station. Very clean rooms, very nice and helpful staff, comfy beds, good breakfast, wifi worked well

Of course the price is totally overpaid compare to other European capitals for what you get. But that's just how it is. Nothing to do with Hotel Torenzicht, this is just the huge demand setting the high price in Amsterdam. But the again also a very very cool city with relaxed people if you stay away from the stupid yelling turists 😅 Also I was very worried about the mentioned bedbugs, this hotel had the least mentioning in reviews compared to other similar hotels, and I can safely say they were not present in my room. 👍

Room was perfect! We had an incredible view out to the Red Light District. Once we were in the hotel for the night we would just sit and watch all the people walking by all night it was beautiful. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and included in the price. 24 hour Bar!! Football and racing on the TV. The best location you could ask for. Heating in the rooms is lovely and warm.

Nothing worth mentioning. Hotel and everything about is amazing we had the best holiday.

Room was simple, good for price. No private bathroom but this was already known and not an issue. Bathroom was good, water pressure, temperature fine and easy to use. Also sink and mirror in room which was an extra convenience. Able to provide iron at reception free of charge. Staff on the reception/bar were great, talkative, informative and accommodating. Breakfast was good for price but could be more options (fruit, dairy, beans, croissants). Located in the heart of the red light district, making everywhere no longer than a 12min walk, and thriving with energy and culture.

Staff that served breakfast were insistent that you promptly leave the breakfast area AT 10am as breakfast was no longer being served, I was not aware this meant I would have to rush to finish my food by 10am, as anywhere else I have stayed begins to remove/stop serving breakfast but does not expect the guests to clear out at the same time as service is stopping.

Right in the centre, reasonably priced and great views. I would defiantly stay here again, shared bathrooms however they was always clean, bedrooms was clean, beds very comfortable. heaters in the rooms when coming back in from the cold. stairs are a little steep, but most hotels in Amsterdam are as I have stayed other places previously. I would 100% recommend, noisy on the front at night but it’s a busy street so didn’t expect anything less. worth the money!

99% of the staff were brilliant, bar one middle aged man who was very rude.
