Great location on an historic street, close to all sights and attractions but lovely and quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. Also really pleased with our bright and airy room which had views of the canal and a great hot shower with plenty of water and some toiletries supplied. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Having 2 chairs and a small table to sit at and look our onto the canal was perfect. In the wardrobe there was also a fan and a hairdryer. WIFI was good, although a bit spotty at busy early pm times when everyone was in and using the internet! The self service breakfast was perfect for us and you could have it whenever you wished, so although no coffee facilities in the room we could get a coffee or juice when we wanted. There were boiled eggs, cereals, bread rolls and cakes, yogurts, cheeses and pates and tomatoes and mini salamis, fruit and for drinks there were juices, milk and a coffee machine that also had hot water to make tea. There were lots of thoughtful touches throughout the hotel that made it very personal and welcoming.

I have nothing negative to say but people of limited mobility must be aware that there are the usual steep and winding stairs to access the rooms as in most canal houses, so be prepared for trying to drag suitcases up - maybe smaller luggage is best!!

I really enjoyed the location. I travel alone many times and i need to feel secure and in acessible places. The spot reunite this needs. It's not a fancy place, but is very clean, even the shared bathroom. The host is super adorable, it leaves water bottles available in the floors for the guests, and also the breakfast is available to eat any moment of the day with no exceptions. It's a very familiar spot and calm, away from the classical Amsterdam confusion. I never catched a bus or train in the city i did all by walking, so the location is great.

The stairs! I thought Amesterdam Stairs were a myth - they're not. The are very small and inclined, you must be very careful, specially with the bags.

Kees, the owner is amazing. The place is great too. It’s an Airbnb kind of experience. The breakfast bar is available 24x7 which makes you wonder why other places don’t do the same. I liked the unique and homely feel of the place. The location is amazing as you’re right next to a canal and get the typical feel of being in Amsterdam. Stairs are exactly how the other reviews state, so maybe not the best fit for the elderly or in case you have lots of luggage. Kees also upgraded my room because there was availability so my stay couldn’t have been better. He also helped me with my luggage up the stairs - definitely went above and beyond 😄

Everything, the owner was a really nice person, was told that there was tea, coffee and continental breakfast available 24 hours a day, plenty of it, no limits, reception area lovely place to sit and relax.. the toilet was spotless, ..you could bring your tea coffee up to your room bringing down to be washed when you finished, location Ideal, rooms had all I wanted, was overlooking the garden and was tranquil, loved it and will be definitely be back.

There is nothing I didn't like, I've stayed in other locations and even though they were good,Adolesce hotel far the best

A wonderful, small, very cozy hotel in a historic building, on a canal, next to the river, almost in the heart of the city, but in a very quiet place. The windows of my room looked out onto a beautiful, large garden: fresh air, the aroma of flowers, birdsong. In the hotel lobby 24 hours a day there are 2 small refrigerators with food, as well as sweets, pastries, tea, coffee, and fresh fruit. This is included in the room price. On my next trips I will stay only there. This hotel has a soul.

My stay at the hotel was very good. I rented a very large room and it was very comfortable. At the reception they always treated me very attentively and kindly. I would stay at this hotel again. It is a little far from the center but that seems better to me because the area where it is located is quieter. I walked back most days and it will be approximately 25 minutes walking from the center to the hotel.

Everything about the hotel was very good really.

The hotel location was convenient to public transport and Amsterdam sights and at a modest price. Our room, with a large double bed and one single bed, was extremely spacious compared to average European standards. The toilet and shower were separate from each other and located in our private entry hall outside of our sleeping room. There was a large sink with vanity in our room which was a bonus. The facilities were clean. We had three large double windows facing a beautiful canal. Wifi worked perfectly in the room as did the cable tv for news watching. A cold breakfast buffet and non-alcoholic beverages are available round the clock on a self serve basis. The property felt more homey than hotel and could be deemed old fashioned by some, but that’s part of the charm. The proprietor took pride in his family run business.

A couple of the pillows needed replacement as the material inside was separated. I don’t care for floor covering overall.

I liked everything! It isvery good family hotel located in the center of the city. The room was very cozy, big and bright. I also really enjoyed breakfasts and the food in general, because it was possible to eat during the day which was very convenient if you go here and there to see sightseeings. Holland cheese is perfect! Eggs prepared perfectly! Kees, the owner, is very friendly and communicative. The agmosphere is great! Thank uou very much!

Our host Kees could not have been more helpful. He offered us a choice of rooms when we arrived. The room we chose was large and the beds extremely comfortable. The 24-hour buffet was a really nice touch. Brilliant location, extremely quiet. Spotlessly clean.

It wasn't a problem for us, but potential guests should be warned that the stairs are extremely steep and narrow - it's a 300-year old Amsterdam house!

Great little hotel, close to the main attractions in the centre of Amsterdam, but on a quiet street without too much bustle. The building is delightful, but the stairs are madly steep, so not one for anyone with any mobility issues! Owner was relentlessly charming and unfailingly generous with advice and umbrellas :)
