The room, toilet and shower were super clean. The location was great only a couple of minutes walk from the train station and close to everything you want/need. The staff was friendly and helpful, Like every house/hotel in the center old part of Amsterdam you have to climb the steps but this is ok, great workout for the legs and keep you fit. No Problem at all, we laughed every time we went up the floors I would definitely recommend it and look forward to my next stay at the BEN central hotel in Amsterdam.

For the money it was great, clean and comfortable, nice staff. Safe.

They asked for 20 euro for the key. I got it back at the end. I wasn't warned. It cost me 5 euro to get it out of the cash machine. And when I got it back there was nothing to spend it on as I was on route back to the UK? Why have such a costly, old fashioned, inconvenient system? Why can't we have our cash cards authorise the amount like most places, or just put the rooms up a couple of euros each to cover the cost of the very few lost keys you have. I won't be staying here again for that reason as I bring large groups and we can't do that for every room.

Location is great if you're a smoker like me u can smoke and sleep lol. Clean sheets, clean shower and toilet. Staff were pleasant. Lovely cat at reception, always a good sign if hotel staff care for animals.

Staircases were crazy. I have a slipped disc and asthma/copd so these were quite difficult for me. I asked to change room but none were available which is fair enough. After a few climbs I got used to them and they were actually quite fun once I'd visited a few coffeeshops lol

Friendly people in the reception. Location is good to walk everywhere. Room is exactly same as shown in booking reservation info, you get what you should expect as a cheap option.

Room smells not bad but really old like a carpet. Window is quite good but still not enough to isolate the outside noise so you need earplugs to sleep at weekend nights. There is no elevator, might be difficult to carry a luggage via tiny stairs typical in Amsterdam.

Bed was comfy, staff very polite and pleasant, room was clean.. very close to most things for a 1star it wasn't that bad after reading some of the reviews, only bit that wasn't great was the stairs.. not great for someone who has bad knees..but overall was a good stay.

Shower curtain wasn’t long enough so didn’t reach the bottom of the shower basin so the bathroom floor was soaking wet. Longer shower curtain would be great and maybe include a bath mat. Would also be nice if you could take card for the coffee machine as some of my friends didn’t bring cash and sometimes we had no change. Was quite loud outside in the morning and was often woken up but that is not the properties fault and we still had a great stay

Location was ok. Central, but the room was really quiet (after I spoke to the excitable 20 year old lads next door about keeping the noise down lol). We needed central for onwards travel, so the location worked for us. The left luggage service was a real bonus. The beds were surprisingly comfortable - me and two teenagers got a great sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are narrow, steep stairs - it's an old Amsterdam building, so not great if you have mobility needs. Best bit was the cat at reception.

Be aware you're round the red light district here - was ok, but I can see it might suit some more than others!

Unbelievable location, right in the heart of Amsterdam. The attention to detail on the bannisters was unbelievable, worth coming for the stairs alone! As a 7ft tall man, it’s very rare for me to find a bed to accommodate me but Hotel Ben Centre was arguably the best night sleep I can remember in years! The facilities are seriously underrated, I rate it a solid 4.5 stars, the price is crazy cheap and I will be coming back year after year. Thank you guys and good luck with your 2 star application, you came so close last time but the cum stains on the wall just let you down at the end.

Clean and affordable rooms. Staff were very pleasant. Not a fan of cats but hotel cat is very cute

Rooms were small but that was to be expected. Stairs are very narrow and steep. Shower fluctuated a lot, one minute it was warm and next freezing then suddenly you were scalded. Bed was 2 singles pushed together so would move apart. Very noisy with guests coming and going during the night and bars downstairs. Earplugs recommended

Great location very very close to Damrak. It was easy to access, had good wifi and was very quiet at night despite begin situated in a noisy part of town. The room was small with an even smaller bathroom, but for 1-2 nights it was sufficient. Comfortable beds for a good nights rest.

Very steep, and narrow stairs that can be challenging with heavy baggage. Our room had a strange wet-like texture on the carpet which made it seem dirty otherwise the room was clean. The rooms are very small, you get what you pay for.
