Location is amazing, everything is nearby, in the heart of the city centre, metro and train station is 10 minute walk away. Room was enough for 3 days, towels and stuff is there, after 1 night they bringed us new towels. Free coffee downstairs, which is good because in city centre coffee costs more than 3€. Eqsy to remember location of the place as its next to the frites shop with bright yellow logo and easy to remember by seeing the huge casino sign nearby.

A lot and, let me repeat - a lot of stairs if you get a room om the upper floors. So if you intend to visit Amsterdam’s coffee shops, prepare for that, its just a minor thing. Other thing is that after showering our WC got very wet

Its location. As central as you could hope for. Very clean room.

It's basically a room with no other facilities except a coffee maker at reception. Accessing the room requires ascending a steep staircase to reception, continuing up one floor more, walking across, and then down a floor. The only way to vacate the building was by the way one enters. In the event of a fire, I can't imagine how one could possibly leave the building safely.

Hotel Damrak wins with it’s perfect location right in the main street in Amsterdam - Damrak Street. You go out of the hotel and that’s where your adventure starts. You have almost everything important in Amsterdam in walking distance. Museums, exhibitions, monuments, Red Light District, restaurants, pubs, shops, party areas… Hotel has a couple of floors with narrow corridors and steep stairs but for us it wasn’t a big deal. The room was on the highest floor and had city center view. We had our bed sheets and towels changed after two days of staying. The staff was very nice and helpful. We could leave our baggage before the time of check in which we appreciated a lot. Thanks for having us! :)

The room was incredibly clean with private bathroom. Wasn't a big room but for the price I couldn't complain. It was exactly what we needed as it's a few minutes walk from the train station in Amsterdam central. Staff were incredibly kind and very helpful

The only complaints I have would be to watch for the stairs ( as is the case with all of Amsterdam, not specifically this place) and the pillows were incredibly firm, my neck was at a 45° angle trying to use it, ended up just sleeping without it.

I really liked the atmosphere of amsterdam in the room. This room being this close to the center and to the train station meant I was able to catch both, all the museums I was aiming to get to, all the restaurants I was planning to eat at, and the train station to Schipol Airport on time. This hotel works as the mid-point to everything while being somehow affordable.

There is nothing much not to like in this room. Of course, it is a bit small for it is an Amsterdam room, and in the center, which means the size of the room is justifiable, and the view from the room is mediocre, but it fits the purpose of taking a night in to be close to everything and go directly into the train station

Our stay at this hotel was fantastic, we were 7 friends and we booked a room for 7 people which turned out to be lovely, well organised and surprisingly large, which is not to be taken for granted. The room was very clean and the staff helpful and friendly, they recommended places to visit and where to eat, and were available all day and all night. The location as you can see from the maps is in the absolute centre, perfect for exploring the city on foot in fact in no time you can get anywhere, it is on the main street and definitely in one of the most beautiful places in the city, always safe no matter what time you come back at night. I highly recommend this hotel because in my case it managed to meet not only my expectations but also those of my 6 other friends travelling with me.

Everithing was perfect.

Our room was up 3 flights of very slim and steep stairs, so don’t bring too much or large luggage. The hotel is on the Main Street, this makes up for the stairs! Staff are very friendly and helpful, we arrived approximately 11am and were going to leave our bags in the luggage room, but our room was ready and were allowed straight in. There is a free coffee machine and free luggage room. Room was clean, warm and spacious.

Stairs, but this is Amsterdam and all the buildings are tall and slim.

The location of this hotel is great, near the central station and the dam square. The hotel is in a typical Dutch traditional architecture and several place of interest is within walking distance. The room is pretty clean and warm.

There was a bell tower nearby and it will ring intensively every morning at around 8:55, which is a little bit annoying. Also the hotel’s entrance is inconspicuous, it would be better if there is a clearer sign.

Location is perfect i would say I can’t get better than that. Right in the heart of the city. Staff was friendly . My room was very modern and clean. Free coffee machine at the reception which was nice

The only thing is the entrance is alittle narrow and easy to miss and the steep stairs so be careful if you have big luggage i was lucky to travel light otherwise i cant imagine how to go up with a big travel bag. Nothing can be done about this tho as it’s a historic building and all

Perfectly located in the middle of the city centre on the main road of Damrak. Dam square is a 1min walk. Clean, basic room (i stayed in a single room on top floor). Free hot drinks machine with various teas, coffee and hot choc which you can have 24hrs a day. 24hr reception desk, priced well compared to other hotels nearby. Highly recommend for a quick break in Amsterdam.

Only one towel given, additional hand towel would be nice. Steep staircase so if you have heavy luggage or a suitcase, you will struggle to carry up. They do have a place to store luggage.
