The location is great to walk by foot everywhere. The rooms were great.

The bathrooms -if you can call them that- are completely open in the room with the sink directly in the entrance and the shower as well even with a glass window that can be seen through from the bed/room. The Toilet door is also glass and not really effective in terms of noise. So in general, there is no privacy in this room so only recommendable for people who are fine with seeing each other naked and/or on the toilet etc. Therefore real door would be nice.

I did not find the beds at all comfortable, especially the pillows - that really was my only complaint.

The beds were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean. We liked the coffee maker and the bar fridge. Staff were always friendly and helpful to us.

The room we booked was advertised as having a couch and being bigger than the room we had. I did ask staff about that but didn't really get an answer except not all executive rooms have a couch. This was not explained in the advertising and the room in the advertising appeared bigger since it had a couch fit in. We didn't like not having a microwave oven.

The hotel, at least if you choose a suite, is very fine. Close to the train station (we arrived by train) and to Amsterdam Airport (just a 16 minute train journey away). You go the opposite way from the train station and in 2 minutes you are in the downtown/old town area, which is full of restaurants, shops and cafes and very beautiful. As for the rooms, the suite type are spacious with beautiful views. Staff is nice.

It was extremely stressful , driving at night, trying to find access road to hotel as roads nearby were closed off due to major roadworks . We spent 20 minutes circling the hotel trying to access it. Given that we advised in advance that we had a car and that we were going to use the parking facilities , I think it would have been useful if the hotel had told us of the road closures and blocked access routes and advised us on how best to get there.

The hotel location, cleanliness, and hotel rooms were exceptional and the trip's highlight. The service was outstanding and the customer service representatives were very friendly and attentive.

We did not like the dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was not prepared to our satisfaction, so we went to other restaurants for the remainder of our trip. I think the breakfast is overpriced compared to the restaurants around the area.

The Golden Tulip offers comfortable accommodation in clean and well-arranged rooms. There is all you need including a hairdryer and an iron. The hotel is in a quiet area, easy walking distance from the station and within close proximity to the city centre. The breakfast offers a good combination of continental and cooked foods - all invitingly arranged. The coffee is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will book this hotel again for trips to Leiden.

If anything, the towels are a bit tired and could be replaced with new ones. Generally though, there was nothing that was of concern.

Comfortable bed, large room, great shower, perfect location.

The rooms should be properly inspected every now and then, a lamp did not work, not a lightbulb problem, there was a stain on the headboard which had not been cleaned, hairdryer is pitiful, breakfast is very pedestrian. The strangest thing is the way the bicycle garage (and the car garage) operate: you get a key/card that you have to give back each time. It’s tedious and silly - install card readers and cards can be deactivated when need be. The hotel’s price bracket is such that the current arrangement is below par.

Location near train station allowed for easy travel to different locations in Holland. Room was large with good bathroom facilities with lots of room. Breakfast was very extensive as many Dutch breakfasts are.

It is a fair walk to the center of town, but you can't be near the train station and the center of town at the same time.

Location to the Central Station and Centrum. The room was reasonably quiet given the location on a busy street.

Not enough hooks in the room to dry things out given the location of the hotel in a rainy country. Housekeeping failed to restock our room on 2 days during our 7 day stay. We were able to obtain the items at the front desk.
