Great location! Very cozy and comfortable seating area. Huge room, very unexpectedly huge, 3 beds although we booked 2. Staff was happily smiling and nice. We had two extra wishes and they happily fulfilled our wishes. Feeling like visiting family instead of a hotel. Restaurants, and all kind of tourist attractions around us.

You have to be aware that this hotel is very central. So if you want to leave the balcony door open at night for fresh air, it can get a bit loud. In the evening it’s humans being loud and in the morning it’s birds screeching. But I had worse. And this was for us a totally acceptable noise level in exchange for being so central.

I had an amazing time staying at this hotel. The double room is extremely spacious, with a generous mini-fridge and coffee machine. Large bathroom with a nice bathtub. The rooms was cleaned every morning, with fresh supplies. The location is just great, close to all the important attractions in Leiden. Highly recommended.

Since it is so central and surrounded by bars and pubs, it can get a bit noise at night sometimes - but nothing too bad. The rooms are super spacious, but I think they would highly benefit from a lift-up in terms of new furniture. The wifi works, but sometimes can be a little slow.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well lit, with three windows giving views over Leiden, the De Valk windmill, and the immediate vicinity (the Beestenmarkt and Galgewater canal). The windows in the en suite bathroom (with an actual bath) open on to a fire escape. The hotel is within easy walking distance both of Leiden Centraal Station and of the heart of the old city.

The price of the view from our admirable room was the climb up and down three flights of steep stairs. However, this was the only drawback, and we accept it as a common characteristic of older Dutch buildings.

The location was amazing! Right in the heart of Leiden! The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We came too early but was still able to check in and leave our bags without a problem so that we don't need to be carrying them around while going around the city. We also left too early the next day and it was hassle-free to leave the keys in a box.

The room had a strong smell that wasn't so nice and it felt that the air was stale. We opened the window in the bathroom to let air circulate and remove the smell but that was not enough. The stairs were so narrow and tight. It was fine going up with a backpack but I can imagine it would be horrible going up with a big luggage. The sound wasn't also isolated even though the windows in the room cannot be opened. We can hear everything going on in the streets.

The property is very close to the Leiden Central Station, and there are many restaurants and cafes around. So, it is very convenient. Also, there are canals around, and one saw many happy people enjoying sunshine on boats, creating very joyous atmosphere.

There appeared to be some people gathering in the square adjacent to the hotel at late night, making some noises. It was not too bad, and yet, it would have been better if it had been quieter at night.

The hotel itself was calm and quiet, clean and comfortable. It was really hard to find a problem.

But the location is in the very heart of the old city of Leiden where although is practical to reach the attractions but is noisy at night. So, if someone is concerned about going to bed before 2 AM, and staying in bed after 7 AM it is not the best choice. Especially early in the morning from 7 AM onward it is almost impossible to sleep.

The room was big and had a fridge and coffee and tea bar, which was refilled every day. The bathroom was big and clean towels were given every day. You could sit outside inside once in the hotel, and there was a separate place for smoking. The location was perfect, right in the center of the city.

Absolutely nothing. Best hotel we have stayed in during our visits to Europe.

Location was central and very pretty with a vibrant feel Able to leave our bikes in a garage so that was great Lovely courtyard outside our room which was so comfortable to sit and read and have a cup of tea. Brilliant that room had a fridge also.

Room clean but little tired looking but otherwise no complaints even had a balcony. Would of been nice to borrow a hairdryer as we cycled so carry very little home comforts.

The hotel is situatated in the heart of Leiden and very close to the main station. Convinience shops are around the corner and historical Leiden is just a short stroll away. Staff was excellent. Our flight was cancelled and so we arrived after 9pm when the desk was shut. Staff went out of their way by opening the hotel and allowed us to check in around 11pm. This was really, really appreciated.

We chose to stay in Leiden as it's a central point for days out to Delft, Haarlem, Utrecht and Amsterdam. The Hotel Mayflower seemed a good option due to its price and closeness to the railway station. Both the hotel and Leiden exceeded our expectations.

Nothing really. It needs an update but that's factored into the price.
