the kitchen was very big and well equiped bed are great, with a usb plug and lights great single shower/bathroom for ambiance, one of the best hostel I have done, great diversity of people walkable to main place downtown\harbour
The kitchen was always dirty in the morning, because the guests would not clean up after themself :( I think the dorms are a bit small for 6 people and door were loud when you close them, so hard to stay asleep sometimes One of the employee at reception, booked me for an extra night, but didn't tell me it would be in another dorm, so they sent me a email during the day telling me I had to move my stuff from the previous dorm or I would get charged. I think it could have been mentionned.

The location of the hostel was amazing, quite on the far end of Queen Street from Britomart, and relatively close to the K Road, where many bars and restaurants are located. Just close by, there were also some 24 hour minimarket and some restaurants. The room was clean and was cleaned regularly, the locker under the bed worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. The lounge and kitchen area were spacious, well-stocked and quite cozy. The staff were super helpful too!
The 6-bed room was very small. There was barely any room to open my suitcase without taking basically 1/3 of the open space within the room. As my bed was also in the narrow corner end, it wasn't so easy to put my stuff in the underbed locker. Nevertheless, the place in general was quite comfortable and convenient, so unless you're staying there for too long, then it shouldn't be a problem.

The staff were great. Haka house was clean and the showers were great! Also the pool room was a great place for our group to hang out before heading out to the concert and when we got back. Also the parking was very handy as we were in a van which was too high for the nearby parking buildings. This was a great and affordable place to stay with a big group :) We will definitely stay there again.
The only thing that would have been nice was to have a window that could open in our room as it was very hot and stuffy when we arrived and woke up in the morning, only 1 of our 6 twin rooms had a window that could open. Or fans could be a nice touch in the rooms that don't have opening windows.

A big hostel with a lot of space. Big kitchen, a lot of storage room and fridges. A comfortable common room area with big windows. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Big Plus was the very friendly and helpful staff. Located on Queen Street but not directly in the city centre. It is a short ride by bus or walk down to the harbour but I didn't mind at all.
Two of the bathrooms were out of service and didn't get fixed while I was there. The room was a bit small for 6 beds. There is not enough space for all the luggage/backpacks. The lockers are not big enough for most bags.

Big communal kitchen with plenty of equipment and appliances, and lots of tables to eat. Beds were comfortable and had a curtain for privacy. Each bed had a lamp and charging points. There were two lockers per person in the room (one under the bed and one smaller one) that you locked with your own padlock. WiFi worked well.
Not enough toilets or showers, often had to queue. Hostel felt like it was in a slightly rough area of town. Lift was broken and looked like it had been for a long time. Room not very clean - there was a mouldy pack of Tim Tams on the windowsill and the small bin was often overflowing.

For the moment I walk through the door, the manager,Trevor penn, greeted me with a warm, welcoming smile and a genuine eagerness to assist.I experienced a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, Jyotsna, she not only ensured that I was settled into my room promptly but also took the time to explain the hotel’s amenities in detail, making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. High level of customer care!! The housekeeping staffs consistently maintained my room to the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness.

The location is in the heart of Auckland's CBD, and everything was excellent. The accommodation was clean, tidy, and the staff were very helpful. The automatic card access system made entry hassle-free. Although I wasn't feeling my best during my stay, I spent a couple of weeks there until I found accommodation that better suited my hygiene standards and expectations. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time at Haka Hostel

The kitchen is the best kitchen I’ve ever seen in a hostel! You can also find herbs, spices, oil, … there which makes cooking very easy and comfortable. In addition, the bathrooms are clean and nice. Haka House isn’t located directly in the city center of Auckland but still it has a very good location and you can visit a lot of places by walking there.
In the room I slept in, there was one half-open window which you could neither open further nor close. This was a little annoying. From my point of view, the hostel was a bit too expensive.

I had a great experience at this hostel. The location is great. Close to many interesting restaurants and bars. Rooms are very comfortable and well-designed. Every bed has a curtain that gives you privacy. Individual light and power for charging devices are very good details. Bathrooms quite clean.
I'd just add a little bit of oil to the room door hinges as it gets a bit noisy. The rest is super comfortable.

Great value for money. Great central city location on upper Queen St. Abundance of nearby cafes and restaurants. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Facilities were clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed, with privacy screening.
Lockers under the bunks were too small or difficult for people to use, meaning they could not lock their stuff away and the room was crowded with people's luggage. Suggest investing in a better locker arrangement. No external windows/light.
