I loved the room! Very large window that faced the river, I think it is by far the best hotel I've stayed in while visiting Christchurch. The bed was comfortable and the linen, clean. There were extra blankets for the really cold weather, overall very quiet!

Parking was a bit stressful. Street parking, first in first serve. Hotel carpark around the back has 6 space, often full of cars that didnt belong to guests.

We stayed five nights. It was comfortable, clean, fresh and modern. Great location 5 minute walk to the convention center, 10 minutes to all the amazing eateries at Riverside Market, and 15 minutes to the gardens. Would definitely stay again

Reception staff established an easy rapport with me. They were efficient - and chatty in a welcoming way.

Probably a good idea to consider shower mats, as inside floor surfaces of showers are universally slippery. Older people with balance issues would appreciate shower mats.

I really liked that the TV had streaming services included, it made coming back to the hotel to unwind after the day that much more enjoyable. I also appreciated the small details like coffee/tea provided and bathroom toiletries and necessities.

The quietness of the room was a bit of an issue, not overly but the air conditioning made a constant loud noise through the night, and the mini fridge was a bit noisy too. But that isn't a huge problem as I know you can always just turn the AC off. Would have been even better to have electric blankets on the bed too, so as to not need the heat running.

What makes one hotel better than the others? It’s the people who work there and the team at Carnmore Hotel in Christchurch work really well together to make sure that their guests are taken care of. Shift Managers like Ding Wang, who helped me sort out a couple of minor issues and went out of her way to ensure that I was more than happy, is a great example of the calibre of staff at this excellent hotel. Apart from the wonderful staff, I felt very comfortable and happy with my room on both occasions that I stayed at Carnmore Hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. Checking in and out could not have been easier nor quicker. Everything was seamless and I had a fantastic time there.

I liked the property.

Loved the breakfast which was already laid out. Fresh fruit is great and the cereals and yoghurt. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. A great peaceful and and lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and was very pleasant and quiet and conducive to group conversations. It was truly a wonderful experience in the Carnmore hotel. Thank you for making the stay very pleasant and non stressful. The staff helped one of our group who was sick and they allowed her to check out one hour later than expected so she could still be comfortable and warm before catching the flight out of Christchurch. Very modern and clean rooms. They are a little on the small side, but very comfortable and well appointed. The onsite restaurant and bar are open from early until late, which was great when we did not arrive until after 8pm and could still get a full (and absolutely delicious) meal. The staff were all excellent and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here!

For those without transport, be aware that it is a little bit out from the CBD. It did not bother us, but if you have mobility concerns, it may be worth considering.

location of hotel was great - just short walk down Colombo Street and you are in the centre of Christchurch. rooms are a good size and very comfortable - great shower. it was also easy to get a local bus from the airport to the hotel. staff very helpful at booking taxis for transfers bak to airport ( too early for the bus) and also the station for the transalpine train

we didn't use the restaurant as husband not a fan of fusion cuisine - maybe a couple of more bland choices would have been good - however that's more our problem then the hotels

It was great we had adjoining rooms. The staff went above and beyond to assist us. My daughter was having an operation at Forte Hospital 1 block over and the staff were very accommodating with our special requests and even a late check out given our circumstances. They even agreed to post an item we left behind at our cost of course. Centrally located to the cbd and a variety of restaurants. This all made what could have been a stressful experience so much easier. You must park on the street but we found this easy although the parks filled quickly and it would have been harder if we had arrived later in the evening.

Clean comfortable and great with in house bar and restaurant. Excellent position too and nice and quiet.

Check in was a problem - another gentleman and I waited 10 mins and no one at reception - I tried calling and no one picked up, there was no bell at reception either. Eventually I went to the restaurant and asked someone if someone was on reception as there were 2 people waiting to check in. Suddenly someone came running and checked us in. The rest of the stay was great. I think like many hospitality places they were short of staff.
