Wayne is the perfect host, helpful and friendly, went beyond expectations on making us feel welcome. The room was clean and well equipped, we stayed in the apartments alongside the access road. This is a good location to explore the city and there are restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are quiet apart from in the morning when there was some noise from guests departing etc. We liked the daily room servicing and had a great stay.

The noise in the morning but this was not unacceptable. The bikes could do with servicing, although it was great to ride one around the city park in the morning and they re free.

This was perfect for pre wedding for the bride and bridesmaids with plenty of room for hair and makeup. Nothing was a problem for the owners including finding a spare phone charger. Everything was absolutely beautiful. There were flowers by the bed when we arrived back from the wedding and linen had been changed and room serviced even though we didn't leave until after 5pm

The Merivale Manor is located in a little suburb about a twenty minute walk from central Christchurch. It is, however, very close to a number of good restaurants and shops, so no need to trek into the CBD for meals.

The manor is located on a busy street, but it did quiet down in the evening.

The property was excellent externally. The room I got was very comfortable. Best pillows ever!! I made a mistake with my booking but I still got service and a room. The set up in the room is exceptional. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable a pity I was too tired to use the spa bath. The food was fresh and there was just a touch with a flower that made me think of a f5 star in Paris. Everything you could want was there. I cancelled my other booking coming back from Picton so I could stay 2 nights here. The hosts are simply the best. Next time I come to Christchurch I will stay here and it's a short drive from the airport. Did I mention that I simply loved this place????

Pleasant stay. Comfortable beds. Able to catch up with our laundry. Friendly , knowledgeable staff. Thank you all for your hospitality. Close to Christchurch central. Bus service right outside hotel.

Hotel on top of main road which could be noisy at times.

Apartments were well located, easy access to Christchurch central, and plenty of dining and supermarket options around. Bedrooms are on the 1st and 3rd floor, ensuring privacy and quietness. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped.

Parking for larger cars may be a little tricky but still doable. Washing may need some googling as the indicators on the washer were in diagrams, rather than words.

The location is in a beautiful locality of Christchurch. Many eateries in walking distance. The room was beautiful and the common areas were beautifully appointed. Lovely fragrances and piped music added to the experience. Wayne was extremely helpful in making our stay memorable

The bathroom was a bit small. No place to hang clothes and place toiletries

Room very comfortable and roomy. kitchenette well-appointed. Owners very accommodating. Laundry facilities onsite and convenient to use. Jacuzzi tub was fantastic!

Fire alarm went off at 11 PM due to faulty wiring but quickly corrected. Fire alarm not connected to the fire department, but should be.

A warm greeting when we arrived made us feel very welcome. We felt very privileged to be able to stay in this old Manor. We stayed in a large room upstairs. It was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Looking out the windows having breakfast was lovely and sitting on the balcony was beautiful on the warm evening.

Loved our stay at the Manor. The location is perfect - easy walk to great restaurants and coffee spots and the mall with the supermarket, all within a couple of blocks. Very close to the city centre. The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed with a nice layout. My wife appreciated a soak in the bath. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We will be back, and highly recommend Merivale Manor to others visiting Christchurch.
