the staff were friendly from the outset. The English lady at reception and the young blonde with a plait in the breakfast service were stand outs. sorry i took note of the names and can’t find them. the breakfast service young lady was amazing and we loved how she interacted with a very elderly lady. helping her above and beyond. The pool and Spa were very nice and the breakfast was fantastic

The breakfast was one of the best I have had at a hotel in New Zealand. Variety of egg, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and hash browns, as well as filter coffee, juices, cereals, danish pastries, and fruit. Wow. Initially my room I was given was not the room in the pictures, but they managed to give me it in the end. It had a spa bath under a large window which was great. The one bedroom apartment had a very comfortable lounge area and many sky channels. Functional kitchen. Good lighting and heating.

Some noisy traffic outside bedroom windows until the early hours. The bed in the one bedroom apartment could probably do with an upgrade, but we still slept well. Onsite parking a bit tight for a longish car depending where you park.

The room exceeded our expectations, it was large, well appointed and extremely clean. We had a balcony with two chairs and a table, a large spa bath, and a beautiful huge stained glass window. As we are genius 2 we got free breakfast which was a full buffet breakfast with a good selection of cold and hot food. The reception was welcoming and allowed us to access our room early as it was ready which was great so we could get changed and leave our bags to start exploring the city. The location is perfect - a 1km flat walk to the casino and plenty of amenities in very close proximity

We didn't find any faults.

Interesting configuration & beds very comfortable. Unit was a great size, the bathroom was roomy & the kitchen was also pretty handy. For those who enjoy walking, it's approximately 30 minutes easy walk into the CBD but there are plenty of great restaurants close to the hotel if you don't want a long walk. Also a lovely shopping centre not too far away.

The main bedroom was a weird shape & it was a tight squeeze to access the whole room & to move luggage around the queen size bed

Rooms are a little dated but very comfortable.Check in quick and easy. Buffet breakfast included is a big plus. The bar and dining room with all the memorabilia of the Hornstone family is amazing. Read the book in the room and then go looking for the items. It is an amazing story and truely a wonderful family museum.

Having a shower curtain. The parking spaces are really tight and you take your chaces about finding one when fully booked.

The buffet breakfast was really nice and even better that it was included in the booking cost. Free on-site parking was helpful too.

The pool and spa was our main reason for booking but on our first day the spa was still cold and heating up throughout the day and wasn't hot enough to use. The pool is also supposed to be heated but was very cold. The walls are quite thin and could hear the people next to us often.

Bed was comfy, shower had good pressure. Great location and the buffet breakfast was excellent.

It said there was a bath in the room, which I was looking forward to and part of the reason I booked this hotel but unfortunately we didn't get a room with a bath. The housekeeper came into our room while we were still in bed in the morning. The heat pump should have instructions because we couldn't figure out how to turn the heat on without googling it and it was very cold in the room without it.

Great Hotel, the staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. We stayed there for 3 days. Our 1 bedroom apartment with wheelchair access for my mum was really nice and clean, and it contained everything needed for her stay. The onsite facilities were very accessible & our daily breakfast was free flowing and yummy. I would recommend Pavilions Hotel to anyone looking for Hotel/Motel in ChCh ...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😀

There was nothing I didn't like

The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was meant to be a disability friendly room, but the sink is too close to the toilet to make it usable for most people. The wet floor shower is large and easy to use.

The restaurant, Jimmy's, was random. It felt crowded and has a completely different vibe to the hotel. Having someone sitting in an outhouse while having dinner wasn't the best experience. The food was average.
