I recently had the pleasure of staying at Quest Cathedral, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. One of the standout features of this hotel is its excellent location. Situated just a few blocks away from a multitude of restaurants and shops, I found it incredibly convenient to explore the local area on foot. It made dining out and shopping an absolute breeze. One of the unexpected highlights of my stay was discovering a charming library only two blocks away from the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise and a great place to spend some quiet, leisurely hours. The staff at Quest Cathedral are truly exceptional. They are not only professional but also incredibly kind and helpful. During my stay, there was a minor issue with the heating element in my room sparking, which could have been uncomfortable and dangerous given the time of year. However, the hotel staff promptly brought me a new heating element, ensuring I didn't have to endure the cold. Their quick response and attentiveness made me feel well taken care of. The daily room cleaning service was also much appreciated. It kept the room fresh and tidy throughout my stay. Speaking of the room, I stayed in a one-bedroom or study apartment, and it was well-equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The presence of a fridge and microwave allowed me to prepare and store food in my room, which was convenient. Although there was no heating element in the room itself, it was not needed due to the efficiency of the heating system. Overall, my experience at Quest Cathedral was excellent. The combination of a great location, friendly and responsive staff, and well-appointed rooms made my stay truly enjoyable. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the area.
Did not affect me much , the king bed was two twins together. Weather was really bad for two days but that is not the hotels fault.

I was able to work with the booking staff re parking my vehicle as it would not fit in the underground carpark and found I could park it next to the hotel, which the hotel could subsidise but not guarantee a spot. The reception staff, Felicity in particular, were fabulous. We stayed in Apartment 600. The apartment was well laid out, well furnished and very roomy. Both bedrooms had king beds with plenty of room around the beds. There were lots of closets and cupboards so luggage could be put away. You cannot fault the location with the tram trundling through the atrium in the ground floor. The River Walk is about 5 minutes walk away.

When I first walked in to our one-bedroom apartment at Quest Cathedral Junction, my impression was "this is rather drab." However, I quickly changed my opinion because this apartment had everything we needed. It was comfortable and quiet and well-located for anything one might want to do in Christchurch. I would definitely choose this option again. The location is perfect. We rode the HOHO Tram on a cold, drizzly day to get a look at the city. Tickets and boarding are right in front of the hotel. Pickups for day trips are right in front of the hotel office. Bus stops are minutes away for rides to/from the airport and the gondola. Museums and gardens are all within walking distance. It's only few minutes' walk to restaurants. There is a convenience store next door and also a small cafe. A full-sized grocery store is a short walk away. Could not be better located for sightseeing, transportation, and other conveniences.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful when the office was open. The only reason I didn't give top marks to "staff" is that the desk is not manned day and night. There is a night phone number, but that's a person who can take messages, not someone who can answer questions. This was just a minor inconvenience; however, I did need to ask a question at a time when the desk was closed so I thought I would mention it.

The receptionists were very helpful. The beds were so comfy. And the apartment was beautifully spacious. Kids loved the view of the tram station underneath us and the colourful lights of New Regent St from the living room. We had requested an extra rollaway bed and it was all set up ready for us which was wonderful. The location was excellent, easy walking distance to the city attractions and kids loved being so close to Margaret Mahy playground. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the Tramway Cafe downstairs. We look forward to staying again next time we're in ChCh.
The washing machine was a bit problematic. It was a combined washer dryer and the clothes were still soaking wet after two dry cycles. Thankfully there was a laundromat a few doors down with excellent commercial sized dryers. Otherwise, our stay was so enjoyable. Thank you

We stayed in a spacious one-bedroom apartment, which was extremely comfortable for our four-day stay in Christchurch. The kitchen was well-resourced and having washing facilities was appreciated having travelled for several weeks. The location on the fringe of the CBD was excellent. It was within easy walking distance to visit many of the city's attractions and eating establishments.
The cleanliness and servicing of this apartment could have been improved. The shower would have benefitted from the removal of mould. Daily cleaning was not evident, except for the making of the bed. The bathroom surfaces, specifically the toilet seat, could have been cleaner. Overall maintenance of the facility could have been improved with a fresh coat of paint and damage to surfaces repaired.

We stayed at an appartment which was well equiped and met our expectaions and requirements. Efficient room service and and good selection of tea/coffee. All facilities and appliances to prepare meals and even to wash cloths were there.
We have had a major resevation regarding one of the staff memmber at the reception (a man) who we think was arogant. While asked which bus goes to the airport and what it costs he responded that he could not know 200 or so bus routs in the city and directed us to the internet to check. I think this would have been a mininum information we should expect to receive from the front desk in a hotel. And indeed the next morning anothr staff member (a lady) provided us with a comprehensive information how to get to the airport and we were very greateful to her.

we have stayed in other Quest properties before. whilst they are "no looker" they are always well equipped and very clean. Cathedral Junction was no different. great access to tramway that stops literally outside the door. comfortable bed with nice linen and acceptable towels. well equipped kitchen and in room laundry facility. great ventilation with opening windows and a Juliet balcony (portable AC provided). luggage stored by the reception team and local knowledge provided with a smile.
Awkward access as building has two towers. to navigate from one to the other you had to access via basement car park. not ideal but workable. I slight issue with the can opener which was poor!

Chose this place due to location, which is walking distance to convention centre. Its very close to their CBD / shopping and dining area as well as riverside market. Next to tram line but I didn't notice much noise. Parking available (20$ per day) and free internet. We got a free upgrade to 1 bedroomed apartment which we appreciated extra space.
No heater in the bedroom, but it was reasonably warm enough when we stayed in September.

Location, location, location. Within easy walk to New Regent St, shopping mall, Riverside market & on the doorstep to the tram & tramway restaurant.
Nothing really. Balcony to our room could do with a sweep & windows on the outside de cobwebbed. Shower screen door could use a seal at the bottom as there was water all over the floor & mat was soaking wet after a shower. Also could do with a few more hooks in bathroom & bedroom area to hang more towels, coats, hats etc on as there is plenty of room on the walls.

Location was awesome. We walked everywhere in Christchurch. Once we worked out the parking it was practical and convenient. The only awkward thing was arriving after midnight and taking in instructions to get to other side of building through underground carpark with 6 plus suitcases was a little creepy. The apartment just needs updating but was clean and well equiped. The family 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms and an extra 3rd toilet and basin was large enough. We travelled with 6 adults. The Main bedroom and bathroom are very very spacious. The 2nd bedroom perfect. The 3rd bedroom was very small.
