We have stayed in this hotel on 4 occasions now and it’s always very comfortable with friendly staff and a great location. The rooms are well equipped, modern and clean and the beds are huge and comfy.

This is the first time we’ve stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments and we were a little disappointed that’s it’s not up to the standard of the rooms. It was clean and comfortable but was definitely lacking in places, no headboards which I thought was weird, not much storage or anywhere to hang jackets/robes/bags. One cushion on the sofa, one random chopstick in the kitchen, not enough tea and milk etc for 4 people. Very plain and uninviting in comparison to the bedrooms. Also, even though we’ve been back 4 times we’ve never been recognised/welcomed back.

The motel was close to town, within walking distance of everything we needed. The facilities and staff were excellent. I also loved that there was a lift to the second floor making it easier to transport suitcases and also easier for people who have difficulty using stairs.

The only complaint was the extractor fan in the bathroom was exceptionally noisy and could not be turned off when in the bathroom, or used separately. However I do understand that having it switch on with the light means that no-one forgets to use the extractor. However one hopes someone can find a way to mitigate the noise level.

Location was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The inner courtyard garden was lovely. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The arrival cookies and milk as well as coffee grounds for pressed coffee were really nice touches! The bedding was lovely. We really liked the warm floors in the bath and kitchen! The only thing negative is hearing the noise of people walking around upstairs.

Clean and modern motel units with well equipped kitchen/dining area. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows. Location close to University. Off-street Carpark provided. Able to walk everywhere. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet internal courtyard garden very peaceful. Cookies in room on arrival 😀

A bit noisy in the evening due to being close to University flats and student parties... Wearing earplugs fixed this.

Chris was really welcoming. The rooms were great and clean. Aurora on George is a hidden gem and it is a walkable distance (15-20 minutes) to the shopping center (George Street and Octgon) and all eateries. It a 5-10 minutes to the University of Otago.

There was nothing to dislike in particular. It would have been nice if they had suggested some tips on how to explore Dunedin like a local.

We were originally booked for 4 nights and I asked for an extra night on arrival (total of 5 nights), hoping that we will be staying in the same room but we were given a different room on our 5th night. The room has a wheel chair sign on the window), the sink/ bench was low and the internet disconnects at times.

I loved how luxury our stay was. The whole motel is lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was exceptionally clean and it was warm when we got inside. The owner allowed us a late check out of 1pm which is an hour later than we expected so we loved not having to rush away! They personalised the initial notes for us and had our name on it when we checked in, we will definitely be back!! The spa was lovely after a big week at mahi. Thanks so much!!!!

Everything was immaculate, there were no dislikes!

Outstanding customer service! From the moment we walked through the door, we were impressed. Small touches such as home made welcome cookies and lavender bath salts were also bonus! We would definitely stay here again and can highly recommend to others.

Need to invest in better sound proofing between the rooms.

Great furnishing, decor, landscaping, outdoor spa (proper hot) and sauna is amazing, and Netflix that just works! Great host and hospitality.

Understandable but unfortunately minimal sound proofing. Means the room next to the dining room gets the brunt of the noise during the breakfasts -- can't sleep in.

Everything about the room was perfect, no complaints. Chris and Adrianne were also very kind and let us check in 45min early to get ready for a wedding.

Unfortunately we got back late (12am) from wedding and there were no car parks available so we had to park in the motel behinds car park, but if we got back earlier I would think we would have got a park.
