Bed and room very comfortable. The host, Debbie was so kind and helpful. She does all the services with a great attitude and was so very wonderful. She loaned me a casserole dish even. The room actually had an oven which was so exciting I had to cook. Everything was so clean. Room was quiet.

The wifi needs improvement. Would be best to put different rooms on individual servers so as not to crowd out people. Even if you put 3 or 4 rooms per server would greatly improve reception. Also password should be more complicated so as not to expose people to hackers as easily.

The room was bright, spacious and well-equipped. We particularly liked to beds which were hard but not too much. The heat pumps worked very well. It was quite cold but the room was heated quite rapidly. The location was also very good for visiting the peninsula. We also appreciated that we were informed in advance that paying with credit card would cost 3% extra.

Just minor things. The parking space was rather small. (It didn't bother us because there were few guests at the time.) There also were very few restaurants nearby.

Very good location, just off the main beach area. very clean, warm and comfortable. very good cooking facilities and car parking outside each unit. Check-in was relaxed. the staff are very friendly and helpful, Bella the manager is an incredible lady who can offer a lot of advice on where to go and how to do it in Dunedin and southern NZ.. Beach Lodge, Bella, can organise bike hire for guests and in future will have bikes available on site for hire. highest recommendations from me to anyone to stay at this motel

Absolutely nothing to dislike about Beach Lodge Motel

The location was perfect, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and there was Netflix on the TV. Extra bedding was much appreciated as I do like having two pillows.

The lighting in the toilet area was extremely bright and a dimmer light would have been better. The bathroom area was tight and a bigger person might have trouble manoeuvring but there’s not really anything you could do about that. The room size was good but the bed was enormous and took up most of the space. A queen bed would have been perfect and would have allowed more room to get around the bed.

A well-located clean and tidy, comfortable motel. Units are probably 50 years old so are good sizes. Great heat pump for those colder Dunedin days. Staff very friendly. St Clair, with it's cafes and the beach to walk on, is about 2km down the road. Motor Camp store is just over the road.

We were about as far from the office as possible and the WiFi did not connect. I think they need to boost it. Not the end of the world, of course, but a bit frustrating when the manager was sure it did work. Parking in front of units requires care as the spaces between the buildings are quite narrow.

A very nice stay in an older motel. Everything was clean and the main room was spacious and comfortable. The location is right near the beach with a fabulous beach camp takeaway's across the road. We used the bus to get into the city for two of the days which was so easy and straightforward. Our lovely host was fabulous and so kind and generous... even lending her car when we arrived before check in time. A very friendly and comfortable stay and great value for money on a short visit.

Doors to the bathroom a bit awkward but we worked it out. :)

Paying was a bit funny. Fee for card payment, so cash instead. 210.90 was the bill. Had only 50 cent or 2 dollar coins. She took the 2 but seemed like she did NOT want to give any change. Was a bit awkward. After searching for several minutes the next morning, I finally got a lot of coins as the dollar, which I was happy to donate at the next nature reserve. Did I mention awkward?

The motel was warm, clean and comfortable with a full kitchen. Amazing fish n chips and burgers right across the road. A short walk to a bus into the city center. Fan bus to big games at the stadium just down the road. Easy car acess to everywhere. Debbie was friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive.

No SKY TV. But we were too busy to watch TV anyway.

Great location as we attended the softball tournament which was across the road. Unit was perfect for 2 people and quiet.

Rating beds are subjective based on people's taste which is.why I rated low. The bed was a bit firm for my liking. Also, the bathroom space didn't allow for 2 people to use the area comfortably, especially around the basin. So something to consider if 3 people are booked into the unit space we.booked.
