Staff are friendly and helpful. We had a standard twin room which was spacious and warm - the bathroom was on the small side but OK. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We paid the room rate that included the buffet breakfast - this was great, lots of options including gluten free (my daughter is Coeliac so the fact they had a separate toaster for the gluten free bread was awesome). Close to town and easy to get to.

Parking system is a bit haphazard - left to go to out for dinner and returned to a sign saying the carpark was full despite paying for parking - managed to squeeze into a double park but meant someone could come and park me in, if I was in a larger vehicle we would have had nowhere to go. Spaces should be allocated when you pay. No electric blankets on the beds.

Room, bed and location were satisfactory.

As all the country were in the red setting we felt Scenic could have offered customers a rebate for their rooms not being serviced. A little bit unfair to have to pay the full price. Rydges Hotel Queenstown and James Cook Grand Chancellor Wellington offered $10 discount back each night of your stay whilst we were there.

The location was very central, the staff professional and helpful and the room was a decent size for a central location. The lobby and restaurant were nice. It was also quiet, our room being at the back of the building rather than overlooking the street.

Being so central, the hotel didn't offer any views - our room overlooked the car park - but it was an acceptable trade-off to be close to all the bars and restaurants. The corridors to the rooms could do with some refreshing.

How close it was to everything The view from our room on the 6th floor was pretty amazing

Room was not serviced while we were out. Nothing mentioned at check in regarding breakfast, the WiFi password was not advised. Only told how to get to the lift to our room. It would of also been good to have been given a map of the area. They were hidden away behind the reception desk. I had to ask for one. The carpark was $20 per day but there was not gate or boom bar to just stop you from driving in and parking up without paying. The breakfast was full of 3 tour groups. Might have been good to be advised not to come for breakfast at a certain time to be caught up with all of them so we could enjoy our breakfast. Just a few things that could be changed so the general public who is not part of a tour group can enjoy their stay better as we are paying good money to stay there.

Staff are friendly and rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. Great, easy location and walking distance to the Octagon. Reasonably priced.

The bathroom is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade. The bathroom cabinet and sink could be modernised and improved to allow for more bench space. The TVs could be upgraded to Smart TVs to include the option for guests to login with their Netflix logins as the Sky movie channels are terrible. Also our TV had been pre-set by a previous guest to either reduce the volume so low that I could hardly hear it on a particular standard channel and there were subtitles. I advised reception about this, as I wasn't able to change this, but they said they would not be able to get a technician in until Monday.

Bed was warm, comfy and pillows excellent. We have been in several hotels in New Zealand and this hotel provided the best quantity of towels - I wash my hair daily and this venue provided a bath sheet and bath towel per person as opposed to the standard of bath sheet and hand towel ….hand towels don’t fit heads, and especially for stays longer than one day those towels are important. The room was warm, but easily cooled. No disturbances from other rooms. Location was perfect - we walked to nearby restaurants and facilities.

The restaurant was unfriendly, food was not above average and wine selection limited due to availability.

The hotel location is very close to the Octagon, where there are a lot of restaurants. The room size is bigger than standard rooms with two double beds. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There was no free parking for vehicles. Therefore, I need to pay for a one-night parking. Other than that, everything was acceptable and we could enjoy our stay.

The room was amazing. Myself and Cousins really love it. Love the bed with looking stylish odd. We feel like growing up in olden days. What a fantastic experience with modern room style. All your staff are very friendly and very helpful. Cheers!

None of the above. Thanks for the accommodation.

Close to the Octagon and an easy walk to everything we wanted to do. The staff were friendly and helpful

Our room was right next to the lifts so was quite noisy with the sound of that being used For the size of the room the bathroom was small and the basin was cracked Buffet breakfast was average

Always stay at scenic suites - comfy and has everything we need. Buffet breakfast is one of the best and the hotel bar/restaurant was good.

Initially we got put in the wrong room, we had to move all our stuff to the other room. Bathrooms getting a little tired.
