The location of The Chamberson is absolutely perfect. You are seconds away from the Octagon which is full of bars and cafes. Woof is also a great place for cocktails. The scene is amazing. The room is perfect. We often stay at the Chamberson just to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life, it meets our needs perfectly. I love the high ceilings, little kitchenette, sofa is comfy, bed is so big and most importantly, it's WARM! Bathrooms are big, everything is perfect. 10/10. Would definitely recommend.
It's very hard to say anything bad about the Chamberson as it truly is so perfect. We have stayed many times and in many different rooms. The only slight negative might be that in certain rooms that are painted dark colours, the lighting can be quite difficult to do your make up in the morning (BUT it is still perfect, i won't hear otherwise). PS The black out curtains make the room soooo dark, it's hard to know if it's morning or still the middle of the night :)

Everything was on point. Nicely situated, close to all the things you need - supermarket, restaurants, pubs, public transport, city center. The room was nice and spacious, with an awesome bed and fluffy bedding. In the kitchen was everything that you could need which doesn't happen often - pan, toaster, cutlery, even salt/pepper/oil. Besides all these things, others stood out. 1) Customer service - nothing was a problem, the staff replied in a bit and they were very kind and helpful. 2) A heated floor in the bathroom - especially in winter is such a nice thing. 3) Totally two heaters - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. 4) Water in the refrigerator ready to drink and a variety of coffee, milk, and tea. Also, I had a room for disabled - can only recommend if available - a wider hallway and a bit more spacious. Nevertheless, I saw a normal room as well and it was still very nice. I stayed totally for 7 nights and only can recommend it.
There was really nothing not to like.

Nice bathroom, roomy shower and good hot water supply. Nice towels and bed linen. Very comfortable, modern room, very nice standard of furnishings. It just fell short on some finishing touches.
The Chamberson wants to achieve 5 stars it says. For the business traveller there needs to be a mini fridge (or access to one) on a Sunday and some cutlery and a plate or two - there was only a couple of teaspoons made available. A nearby ‘loft’ room which had a kitchen and dining area in it was locked. Sky TV is a must these days. Suggest the entrance door looks a bit smarter too with some seating inside so guests can wait for a cab more comfortably.

The location in central Dunedin, close to the Octagon, restaurants and shops was excellent. The corner room we were in had a great outlook and despite looking over two streets and a busy intersection, it was not noisy. The comfort of the room was excellent. The separate bathroom was good with a great shower. The kitchen section was well designed and easy to use with a full-sized fridge, dishwasher and well organised shelving and cupboards. It meant we could eat-in when we wanted to. The sitting room area was spacious and comfortable. Our Dunedin stay was made very comfortable, being there for 4 nights.
Nothing to complain about.

The rooms were excellent. Comfortable, very modern, excellent facilities. Loved how dark the bedroom was. It was beautifully decorated and the modern warehouse vibe was terrific.
I don’t particularly like self check in and probably wouldn’t have booked the hotel had I realised. I would also recommend that you place a hotel sign on the walls outside the parking ramp. We didn’t notice the hotel name the first time we drove past as the sign is placed above the ramp itself and is blocked by the walls of the ramp. A sign on the brick wall at the street would make it a lot easier to find and would reduce the stress of trying to find a parking spot outside the entrance to the hotel. Perhaps the text message we received could have advised where the sign was and maybe compass directions.

Great location, the trendy and designed facilities were awesome (good kitchen and spacious rooms) and excellent help when needed. Comfy beds and kitchen has everything you need. Netflix and air con seals the deal. Highly recommend for an excellent place to stay in Dunedin.
Some broken glass on the kitchen floor when we arrived. We asked for it to be cleaned up but housekeeping never came. Normally wouldn't be a problem but we had a toddler with us so we were extra picky.

This property was ideal for a family of four, especially with two bathrooms and a decent kitchen. The property was warm, I always enjoy having access to some form of fresh air, which we could get from the lounge room window. The location is great a short walk to the Octagon. Having the option to have a carpark in the building was excellent, as it stayed there the entire stay as we didn't need it, but knew it was safe and secure.
The room were dark, lighting is tricky when putting on your makeup.

We stayed in the Loft room which was surprisingly not that small. The bath room was a good size. Nice to have USB ports in the wall outlet next to the bed. Clean. Convenient place for restaurants and supermarket nearby.
Parking was extra plus our SUV would not fit in the low ceiling underground parking. Have to park in the street which is limited to only an hour parking during the day. Did not see any staff at all. Self check-in and out. Will be very warm in the Loft room in Summer as it has no air conditioning. Fine during the cooler months.

My husband and I stayed here one night on the way to Queenstown. We stayed mostly at 4.5 star or higher hotels but we could not find one in Dunedin. So, we chose the Chamberson as it is located to the nearest coach stop (we arrived after 8 pm). The Chamberson was literally a few steps from the bus terminal in Dunedin and in the middle of the City Centre. Furthermore, the hotel exceeded our expectations; 13-14 ft ceiling (my guestimation), lots of windows showing beautiful streets and Dunedin Railway Station/Musem, 1 min away from Countdown (Supermarket), full-kitchen, comfy bed, and kind staff. Definitely I would like to highly recommend this for Visitors to Dunedin.
No Reception after .... pm, which I don't know exactly. Lockbox Use

The location was great - close to the Octagon and many sights/monuments. The building was stunning (as many in Dunedin are). Our room was funky - cool decor, awesome bathroom, comfy bed, pretty spacious even though we were in the loft part
Parking is a pain in the neck (as most city centre parking it) but they messaged us with info about options nearby which was appreciated and used. Only other thing was that it didn’t have a small bar fridge so we had to chuck some food away. Not sure if they had a communal kitchen facility available
