Excellent bed and breakfast. We stayed for one night to visit the Royal Albatross centre. It is perfectly located towards the peninsula outside Dunedin. Glorious views. The garden of the property is lovely with lots of birdlife and the outdoor seating area of the room was a real treat. The room itself was very spacious and had a great night sleep. Breakfast was excellent, a lovely combination of fresh fruits, cereals and cooked options, all freshly prepared by the host -who was very welcoming and always happy to help.
Nothing.

Everything! We had a lovely room with an amazing view and even on a windy stormy night we remained comfortable and had a great sleep. Breakfasts were scrumptious and our hostess was just lovely. We were able to come and go as we pleased and it was always great to have someone appropriately interested in our day. Ana was also really helpful phoning to book an evening meal for us on our first night. There were plenty of books to look at/read and tv to watch if you ever got fed up with the view.
There was nothing to dislike. Everything was fabulous from the welcome to the breakfasts to the hospitality

We liked everything about this place: the location, sited high on a hill with a great view; our spacious room; the excellent breakfast. Our room had its own entrance to the garden (as well as entrance from the front hall of the house). The garden was well tended and full of flowers. A tui came often to the bird feeder in front of our window. We enjoyed both the restaurants in Portobello, and we loved the peninsula.
Nothing.

An early 20th century house that had been sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard to make a very comfortable and restful b & b. The owner was a lovely lady who prepared beautiful, tasty breakfasts - easily the best we had while travelling in NZ. Our room opened out onto a lovely garden where we sat and watched native birds coming and going. The location was great, being close to a regular and cheap bus going to Dunedin and, in the other direction, within a short drive to Albatross Centre and the rest of the Otago peninsula. Easily one of the nicest places we stayed during a 2 month tour of NZ.
The restaurants in Portobello were both closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Warm welcome. Beautiful home & gardens. Well appointed, spacious accommodation, luxury bed linen & toiletries. Nice touch that there was a separate lounge with fridge (tea/coffee making facilities as well as snacks, soft drinks & beer) available as well as your bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast excellent, best we have had on our travels around New Zealand. Would highly recommend a stay with Anna.

The accommodation is a beautifully maintained and elegantly furnished house built in the early 1900s. It's set in lovely gardens with an amazing view over the harbour. Despite the size and elegance of the house, however, Ana made us feel comfortable and relaxed and very much as though we were staying in a friend's home. Her breakfasts lived up to the expectations set by previous reviews. We would certainly stay here again.

Overall, everything was great; however, we noticed a dusty smell from the bedsheet, which unfortunately made it difficult for us to sleep until 4 a.m. On a positive note, the host was very kind, and the breakfast was excellent, complemented by a stunning view.

Beautiful location, comfortable and quiet. This was the perfect place for us to have as a base for our few days in the area. Our host was lovely and helpful, our breakfasts amazing and the views refreshing. Would not hesitate to book again.

Beautiful house with sea view and gardens with birdsong. Underfloor heating in the bathroom did the chilly mornings and evenings was most welcome. Loved the fact you could walk into Portobello along a back-garden trail. Anna friendly and made ideal suggestions re where to go; also made the best scrambled eggs! 😋
