Fantastic property, from the grounds to the staff, all great. We must give a special thanks and mention to the Manager that greeted us and took the time to ensure we were all set and welcomed, Michele. She went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed, and additionally, she also took the time to answer our multitude of questions about what there was to see and do in the area. Michele did all this as she was pulling multiple duties on the property, but she was always happy to help, and even went as far as ensuring we had breakfast when we left at 6:45am one morning. Great place all around.

Our stay at Hana Lodge was simply breathtaking. It's a place where time stands still, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The amenities were outstanding, and the service was beyond exceptional - 10 stars wouldn't be an exaggeration. It's truly evident that the team has poured their hearts into creating this remarkable retreat. I'm saddened that my visit was only for one night, but with an experience this incredible, I am already looking forward to my return.

That we could only stay one night due to other commitments

Beautiful property in a gorgeous setting with fantastic staff. The property was quite new and had good intentions but still needed to work out a few kinks. Loved the property, art works and grounds. So beautiful. There is an opportunity for the hotel to offer guests to see the gorgeous stars in the sky but the front area is so brightly lit that it’s hard to see the stars. Perhaps they could set an area for guests to enjoy it comfortably?

Our shower was small and the fixtures (though beautiful) were leaking and there was painter’s tape still on the vent. The breakfast room needed blinds as the sun was blinding and made the room a little stuffy. We were not motivated to try the dinner as the menu offering did not make it seem like it was going to be something special. It’s too bad bc the setting is a great opportunity for a nice, special dinner.

Choosing Hana Lodge was a brilliant decision for our vacation. The picturesque location, coupled with the lodge's attention to detail, made it a haven of tranquility. The well-designed rooms and friendly staff contributed to a truly enjoyable stay. Dining at the Hana Lodge restaurant was an absolute delight. The attentive service and inviting ambiance enhanced the overall experience. This lodge offers a seamless blend of comfort and nature. It’s a gem for those seeking a rejuvenating escape. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of luxury.

Nothing - Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

First of all, it feels like you're pulling up to your own private mansion. When they say boutique, it's a very accurate description to be fair and in the best of ways. Being offered a drink and a cold towel upon checking in was a really nice touch as well :) Warm welcome indeed. From staff, the rooms, the hot tubs, service in the restaurant, everything was top-notch. The Hotel Managers Darsh, was absolutely outstanding and always made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, so don't hesitate. It's worth it.

My husband and I loved the heritage nature of the building and the sense of style and impact as we arrived. We particularly loved taking our meals on the balcony and catching glimpses of Lake Rotorua through the trees. All of the staff were amazingly welcoming and cared for us extremely well during the stay. Big shout out to Darsh and the wonderful waiting staff.

We could hear people talking and coming up and down the stairs so there’s a lack of sound-proofing in the room we were in.

We stayed in the suite and loved that it was so roomy with a beautiful bath. We loved that the property is newly renovated and has gorgeous baby bunnies running around the grounds in the afternoon. The staff were all friendly and attentive, especially Darsh who was super helpful and had no problem with special requests. We needed a scale to weigh our luggage, as we had to bring home things for our friends and Darsh made sure one was at the hotel the next morning when we were checking out.

Fantastic service from everyone we engaged with, gorgeous location, rooms and amenities were very nicely appointed, clean and great quality, from the linen to the mini bar. Sauna was a real treat. Wonderful escape away and came back refreshed and relaxed.

The menu wasn’t “wow” enough for the accommodation to be honest. It was nice, but was missing the flare you’d expect from a 5 star, boutique resort. Great service and lovely dining space, the menu itself just didn’t quite land.

Quiet, comfortable, great service personnel who are willing to help. Beautiful grounds, well stocked complementary snacks and drinks in the room, comfortable hot tubs, amazing made to order hot breakfast and buffet, and option to have a delicious dinner on site. We loved the exotic birds and animals on site.

Stairs, too many and too small, not safe, but we understand the elevator will be functional and pass inspection very soon that will solve that problem.

The hana lodge is immaculate, and great location by the lake. Beautiful and secluded property. Darsh is simply the best. He greets you upon arrival, offers you a drink, shows you around and makes your visit wonderful the moment you step in. The lodge is quiet and has everything you need. The rooms are beautiful and they made our honeymoon special with room flowers . They take the extra mile and takes care of us.
