We went to several other beach locations that were wonderful but this was our favorite and would stay here for at least a week in the future at Paku Lodge. We absolutely loved everything about our visit. The ocean view from our bed and the 2 patios were such a great way to wake up every morning. The staff and everyone we came across in Tairua were friendly and helpful, making our visit so special. The lodge had bikes, kayaks and paddle boards to explore. There were beautiful trails up the mountain with spectacular views of the ocean. The bay was so nice and calm with ocean access. The restaurants were walking distance and fabulous food. Town was also a bike ride away with many food options and lots of shopping for a small beach town.

Pristine. Exceeded my expectations. They surprised us with an upgraded suite at no extra cost which was 👌 but due to health reasons I was suited better with the initial suite which they also had readily available. Friendly, helpful, attentive & kind. Effective and efficient service. Perfect sea/beach views from every room. I needed more shade in my accommodation, which they amply provided. Even gave us extra 🥛.😃. Perfect stay to visit surrounding areas and invigorating trails ( lots to choose from). Offered free kayaking and use of push bikes and laundry service.☆ Terry and family 👌great service 👏. Thank you. Also checked out sailors grave, lots of stones and a nice look out on the trail, did not go to far, as it became very muddy and turned back.

Great sized room - well equipped for cooking, balcony with a great view, parking right outside the room door, a hose to wash your feet before entering; this resort was the perfect place to stay. Our room was so close to the beach that we could put our baby down for a nap and the monitor would reach us on the beach. We were able to book an additional night luckily due to a cancellation - we only planned to stay for a night but this area is so beautiful we wanted to stay longer. The beach in this area is full of families.

the view from room 3 was lovely, seeing the marina, the boats coming and going, location was good to walk around safely.

The entrance decking was narrow to the room, once you parked your car, you had to maneuver yourself so not to fall on rocks on either side, we were right on a corner up the top and cars had to come up and turn beside the car, one Ute took 5 goes to get around past our car...

Great sized room. Really comfortable bed. Modern room, spotlessly clean, and well maintained. Small private balcony, and ashtrays provided. Really great place to stay. Fantastic views. Well equipped kitchen.

Not a negative as such - but the property is really steep, and so less than ideal for people with mobility issues. Anyone reliant on a wheelchair would not cope because of the steep access to the rooms.

The view from our room was absolutely beautiful looking across the estuary. It was only walking distance to The Old Mill waterfront café which was great and to the The Beach Club restaurant where we had 2 fabulous meals both with excellent service. We will return.

Perhaps 1 smaller pillow and 1 large pillow instead of 2 large.

The view from our one bedroom room was fantastic. The location is across the road from a beach, a bit further from the town centre, but an easy half an hour flat walk each way, Friendly/helpful Hosts/Management.

Rooms are not serviced, but if you need more towels/tea coffee etc, you just have to ask. The credit card surcharge was a bit excessive at 2.75%.

Check-in was smooth and easy. The room was immaculate and had a wonderful view of the sea - which was just across the road! It was wonderful to walk along in the evening and the morning. Parking was provided just at the door of the unit and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect for my needs being only an half an hour drive from Hahei beach.

Everything about this place is awesome, the location, the view :D, the wonderful staff, the facilities that the hotel offers. The room is very spacious and has everything you need for your stay! There are also a lovely café and restaurant nearby if you wanna treat yourself, both great! Definitely recommend staying here

Fabulous location with view of pristine beach. Unit was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Appreciated the extra touches like fresh milk and free use of Kayaks, paddle boards, bikes and even shovels for hot water beach. Staff friendly and helpful. We wished we had booked extra nights . The best accommodation and location we've had so far in North Island.
