Quiet neighborhood and only five single-level units so not a busy property. Easy walk to main street shopping (4 Square market and cafes). You could even walk to Pak N Save depending on how much you are willing to carry back. Cooking facilities were sufficient (which is good because dining options in Thames are limited). Wifi was fast, bed was comfortable. Each unit has a tiny back deck with furniture; lovely sound of the brook flowing past. I don’t know about laundry facilities but there was a drying line.

Cozy/Small units might not suit some. We were here three nights and didn’t mind. Parking area is also small.

It’s next to a stream so the air is clean and fresh and we enjoyed the sound of the running water. The units have been recently refurbished and are bright and clean and comfortable, which was unexpected in a building of this age. There are thoughtful touches like little clothes lines beside the balcony, coffee bags for plunger coffee and a well-written and thorough manual for the motel and Thames.The manual even included a useful Maori vocabulary to help decipher place names. The kitchen was well equipped and the crockery and cutlery of a high standard. From the kitchen window there is a view of the bush.

This was hands down the nicest motel we stayed in. The many extra little touches went above and beyond. Good location to explore the peninsula.

Nothing to not like about the motel.. although walked short walk into Thames, high street.. at 4pm on a Friday almost everything was shut.. nice walk along the lakeside tho..

Spotless and very well maintained unit. Great service. Quiet location and easy walk to main street. Great touches like plunger coffe bag, moisturiser and makeup remover, fruit bursts, milk, etc. Breakfast was well priced and generous.

I would have preferred a sofa to sit on rather than arm chairs. I need to put my feet up and sofas make this easy..

We were greeted warmly, shown to our room which was immaculately presented and very clean. We really appreciated that the milk was in a reusable glass bottle rather than single use plastic. The Bed was a great size, and was on the slightly firm side, but was more than adequate for our short 1 night stay.

Early arrival was not a problem and to be able to freshen up before an appointment in a nice apartment was so good. Yvonne was amazing driving us to and from our hospital appointment making a difficult time easier to manage.

It was lovely and quiet and just a few minutes from the town and all it had to offer. We were able to travel a little further to check out the Peninsula in comfort time.

The unit was tastefully decorated, so nice to have 2 comfortable chairs to sit in. The kitchen was very well equipped. Loved the motel's situation, in a quiet street and backing on to native bush with the accompanying birds. The bed was comfortable. Keith and Yvonne were friendly and helpful hosts, I would have no hesitation in recommending the motel to friends.

Excellent motel, excellent level of cleanliness and facilities. Owners extremely helpful and welcoming. Could not find one problem at all with the stay or facilities

There are absolutely no improvements that the owner could have done to make the stay better

When we arrived the heating was on and the unit was warm and inviting, and spotless. Yvonne has thought of everything, and services the rooms daily. We couldn't have asked for more, and would definitely return again.
