A charming property separate from the main house which gave us privacy. Accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable with wonderful views of the bay and surrounding lands. Our hosts were very helpful, informative but especially accommodating with our needs. Anna Marie is so obliging and a wonderful cook. Her breakfasts were exceptional with generous provision and delicious extras. The accommodation is very well provided with all the necessary gadgets High made self catering so simple. Thanks Anna Marie and Johan. Pool use was so welcome.

We thought no barbecue might be a slight issue but it quickly proved to not be a problem at all due to the very well equipped kitchen meaning we could still enjoy superb Angus steaks, thanks NZ.

Great location overlooking Thames and a lovely rural outlook including a field containing their sheep. Very generous provisions for breakfast and a spacious accommodation.

The hosts spent a lot of time whilst we were cooking and eating dinner trying to get the payment through despite having all the appropriate information - apparently they did want the expense of an EFTPOS machine and were trying to use their bank portal to receive a push notification from my bank in Australia. Stayed in a lot (13 properties in NZ) on this trip and fortunately the rest had a lot more efficient administration at reception. Access, sign and steep driveway could have been better.

Chartre Manor was for us an ideal place to stay. We were warmly greeted by Anna-Marie and she went over and above to supply us with breakfast food, snacks, drinks, which we highly appreciated. The location on a hill overlooking the land and the water was great. There were sheep and rabbits in the field, which along with the many birds gave a relaxing atmosphere. The cottage is very quiet and spacious. Thames has several good restaurants. We would definitely stay here again when we visit New Zealand.

Where to begin ... everything fabulous! Very kind hosts, large apartment with great views (sunset!) and everything one might need in the kitchen (and good quality). Anna-Marie provided ample breakfast and other food: home-made cake, cookies and bread, salad from the garden, daily fresh eggs from their own chicken ... fantastic! The property is easy to find and perfectly located for Coromandel coast, the shorebirds at Miranda, Karangahake Gorge or Kauaeranga Valley.

The cottage was charming and well furnished, bed was comfortable and water pressure in shower was fantastic. We had sheep and bunnies right outside the little deck/patio. Loved sitting out there-so peaceful. Anna-Marie was above and beyond generous with food and beverages supplied, even bringing us homemade scones with fresh butter, cream, and jam upon arrival. Even provided eggs from her hens. Could not ask for a more lovely experience. Wish we’d booked longer.

WOW, what a great stay. The place is at the top of a hill with a great view over town. The hosts were SO friendly and kind. They asked us what we would like for breakfast prior to check in and provided so many more options in the fridge, fresh fruit etc. We felt very well looked after. When the tour we were on ran over (by 2.5 hours) and we didnt get back to after 8pm, they walked over to check on us. Such a nice gesture.

Anne-Marie is by far the best hostess we have encountered in all our stays over the country. The breakfast was unbelievable. There were a number of cereal choices, a big fruit bowl, bacon, eggs (from her own hens), smoked salmon bread, croissants and lots of little snacks in packets. The pantry was also stocked with cooking oil and several salad dressings.

Everything! Situated above Thames with great views, Anna-Marie and Johan were perfect hosts for our 3 night stay. The Cottage is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast provisions were more than generous and Anna-Marie kept us supplied with additional treats.

We were staying in the self contained cottage and were surprised by the wonderful supply of breakfast items to cook our own breakfast. The view was wonderful, and we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sunset. Hosts were very friendly.

Food was great, so many options available. The owners also provided so many snacks and treats, such welcoming hosts. We will be staying there again! The hosts could not have done more for us. An amazing place to stay.
