Everything was absolutely top drawer. Tasteful decor with a very comfortable bed. The hosts are very welcoming and nothing was a trouble. The breakfast table was beautifully presented with beautiful fresh fruit from their garden, a lovely range of cereals and lovely yoghurt. We were then treated to superbly cooked bacon and eggs.

Marie and Ken are wonderful hosts. The room, in a separate wing to the main house (with its own on suite bathroom) was large, spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. The property is in a new, good quality subdivision, near to the lake and is super quiet (particularly at night). Marie's cooked breakfasts are delicious and the little 'extras' left for us in the guest fridge or in our room are a nice touch. We've stayed here once before and for anyone with a car (the properties too far too walk to central Taupo, but only a five 'scenic drive' around the lake, we'd highly recommend it.

We would have liked to stay longer.

A big thank you to the hosts Ken and Marie for taking the utmost care of us while we were staying with them! We really appreciate you specially returning to the room to help us look for our lost item and for preparing such a sumptuous breakfast for us. We would have loved to stay longer if we could.

A stunning new build where the owners have designed a separate wing solely for guests. They are outstanding, experienced hosts - the quality of linen, breakfast and provisions was the best we’ve encountered and their friendliness was well appreciated. The sunken garden was beautiful. Thank you for everything, Marie and Ken. Loved the Baird connection.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our apartment was in a separate wing of their home but attached to the dining area where they provided a wonderful breakfast - better than most restaurants! This is one of the best experiences we had during our multi-week stay in New Zealand.

I can’t think of anything to improve!

Loved everything about Stay Taupo from the minute we stepped into the beautiful sunken garden where we had afternoon tea - delicious Christmas cake & Nespresso coffee. Immaculate & spacious room with ensuite. Great shower. We enjoyed the extra treats of cookies, chocolates, nuts & cherries in the room. Ken & Marie were exceptional, highly attentive, and welcoming hosts and we had a great conversation with them after breakfast. They also cooked perfect poached eggs & crispy bacon.

Maria & Ken were exceptional hosts. Very friendly and welcoming and offered great advice on where to go and what activities to try (and even booked for us). The property was almost brand new and beautiful, and in a great location a few minutes drive to the town centre.

Nothing not to like

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty to eat. Hosts were amazing. We stayed in Taupo as we were meeting friends. Plenty of food outlets. Lots of tourist attractions. Excellent stay.
