The room we booked was spacious and quite comfortable. Close distance to the city centre and supermarkets. The owners were very kind and helpful. All the amenities available in the room were in really good condition and our stay in general was pretty comfortable.

I didn't realise how close the lodge was to the main road, we found it to be quite noisy as we could hear the natural noise from the street at night because we kept the windows open given we travelled in summer time, which could be an issue for light sleepers. Unfortunately, our neighbours were smokers and were smoking just outside of their unit, so the smell travelled quite easily and abundantly into our room. And it forced us to keep the front window close, which was not ideal for us. We mentioned it to the owner and suggested to keep the lodge smoke-free as quite a lot of places in NZ already do so. They took the suggestion on board quite well.

Friendly service on arrival. Spacious room means you are able to get contents out of bags. Good shower and nice fluffy towels. In a good location for Whakatane and exploring the local region. Onsite parking.

Two nights of sleep disrupted by adjoining inhabitants. First night they got up at 4 am and ran their car outside while banging about before departing. Second night, other side of us, returned home around midnight and banged and crashed against wall...sounded like furniture movers! While this is not the fault of the moteliers, perhaps the insulation/ soundproofing between units is poor? I could also hear the neighbours using the toilet.

The location was great, and despite the room being near the road, it was relatively quiet. The check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great having access to a washing machine and dryer onsite for a small fee. The room was pleasantly decorated and had some local photography which was a lovely touch.

Please put some netting into the bedroom! The bedroom is visible to anyone standing in the reception area of the real estate agent. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of thinking because it was a Sunday, no one would be in the office. Boy, was I wrong!

We were greeted with a warm welcome with plenty of insight into the local town. Sue was very personable and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy for our stay. The room was very well equipped being so spacious with a kitchenette- felt more like a mini apartment which was perfect! Everything was clean and well maintained- giving us the option to have a nice night in. Had a great stay here !

Very spacious, clean, good storage for clothes, secure parking, accommodating and friendly operators. Loved a tv in the bedroom and quiet position. Very handy to town and eating places.

3 seater in lounge was very uncomfortable, bed needs upgrading, tv too small for size of lounge, there were no movie channels available, little space to store groceries in the kitchen, and given the size of the bathroom a larger shower would give more room to move.

Excellent location, clean & comfortable. Highly recommend. Staff is so helpful even ASH, the owners gorgeous dog greeted us with kisses omg so friendly., Thank you all at Barringtons Motor Lodge for a wonderful stay. All the best for 2024.

Honestly, it was excellent there. There wasn't anything we didn't like. Wish we could have stayed longer.

It was a bit of a long walk to the quay and town centre if you wanted to go out in evening and have a drink - we're walkers so didn't bother us but it might others

I travelled with elderly parents to a funeral so we wanted a unit with 2 separate bedrooms - which we got the whole unit was extremely spacious, comfortable, fresh and clean . It had every amenity we needed. We asked if we could drop off our bags slightly earlier than normal check-in. They were very accommodating and had prioritized cleaning of our room so we could early check-in. We had a good sleep and the unit was very quiet. We would totally stay here again and recommend.

We didn't need to ask for anything everything was provided

The quality of the motel was incredible for the price we paid. It was very clean and tidy and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable and soft.

The showers had great pressure but we were unable to turn it up to a different good hottness in the morning as it kept going cold. Not sure if this was because others were using it at the same time or not.

The check in was easy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean, very comfortable, and quite spacious. Having all SKY TV channels was a bonus. The motel was full, but we were still able to get parking easily enough. We really enjoyed the stay here.

There was nothing we didn't like.
