Didn’t notice there was a spa bath in the room which was a plus. Enough towels which most facilities don’t provide! Tv’s in all the rooms was also unexpected & a nice surprise. We had shown up earlier than expected check in time which the staff were happy to accomodate an earlier check in and fast tracked the cleaning of our room. Beds were like sleeping on a cloud! Super comfortable which isn’t always the case sometimes at hotels.

No remote for the tv in the lounge area- not a major issue and was still able to use with buttons on tv. Other bedroom didn’t have a window to the outside for fresh air, you need to open that window then the window in the little corridor to get any fresh air coming in without you bedroom door being open. Also not a biggie, I just prefer fresh air as air con can play with my sinuses. Personally, the smell to describe was a bit similar to a super clean funeral home. I am very sensitive to smell though so would most likely not be an issue for other guests. I bought a scented candle for a quick cheap fix from the Kmart 5 mins down the road.

We always enjoy the spa bath, the spaciousness of the room and the comfortable bed. We also liked not having to book in at the desk and going directly to the room. These rooms are quiet and the motel is a short drive (you can even walk if you want) to the Kopeopeo shops.

I was a bit concerned about whether our room had been paid for because I didn't bother accessing the internet to check my credit card. In the past we've stayed here because it was comfortable however the speed of the internet did not allow us to access our online classes (lagged) so we started going elsewhere. Not a huge worry but our carpark was taken and so we parked closer to our room. The problem is when this throws everyone else out - don't think it mattered too much because there were some bigger vehicles which needed the middle parks.

excellent customer service. the owner was so accommodating. we came over for a birthday and we were able to check in abit earlier. that was much appreciated as we didn’t want to have all of our luggage with us in the car. the spa bath was amazing, the room was massive, we got the 2bedroom suite and our extended family next door at the landing motel all wished they had booked at Pacific coast. very spacious. tvs in both rooms (with sky as well!!) Close to supermarkets Kmart and takeaways. we loved our stay here. Thank you for making our weekend away even better. we will definitely be back!

we loved everything. no faults whatsoever

This is the best place to stay if I have to be in this area. The spa bath is heaven sent at the end of a long day, everything works efficiently, takeaways and Pak n Save are in easy walking distance, the kitchenette has everything required, the bed is very comfortable and there is even a vending machine should the need arise.

There is nothing that I do not like about staying at the Pacific Coast Motor Lodge Whakatane.

Having a 2yo. The floors hadn't been moped prior to arriving finding a lot of drink/hot drink stains on the floors. The fold out couch bedding had random hair on the topper. There were instructions for the oven. However, the stove top needed YouTube tutorials because of the time, there was no one to call. Also, no landlines to call reception directly.

Our unit was extremely roomy, very clean. The large bed was very warm and comfortable. And the spa bath was an extra bonus. It was wonderful having cooking facilities which enabled us to cook our own meals. Even though it was on a busy road the road sound was barely noticeable and the location was excellent for our needs!

The bed in the lounge was adequate but not as comfortable as the bed in the bedroom. A mattress topper would improve it.

Its a lovely clean modern motel. Two bedroom apartment which was plenty of room for the family. The spa bath was great. Great location near main street of town and only 10 mins drive to the beach. Best place we have stayed and such a great price. We will be back. Also there was a TV in each room the kids loved relaxing watching sky.

Very clean motel, friendly owners, comfy beds, all the channels on Sky (hubby was able to watch the rugby) and the spa baths were a bonus.

That the sky decoder was at the back of the Tv in room 6 and you couldn’t change the channel whilst laying in bed. Also the Wifi was abit slow.

The room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The spa bath was a real winner for me and I had a great nights sleep. It was a bonus being able to walk to go and get dinner, as there are options very close by. Having a vending machine onsite was a nice touch - although I didn't use it.

There was nothing that I found to be lacking or unpleasant.

The bed was absolutely comfortable and it was good to have the air conditioning as it was really warm in Whakatāne last night. The idea of having a vending machine was cool that and all the space in the room was the best. One last thing the pressure of the water in the shower was on point. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here 😊
