the wonderful breakfasts, being able to hang out in the dining area & have cups of tea/coffee, hot or cold water anytime & lovely touches like lemon water. So good to be able to have our own snacks in the dining area & sit & relax there any time after breakfast. It was great to have reception staff available all the time for help + tour advice available at reception. The location is excellent - it was an easy walk to the town square, tourist info centre, bus terminal, supermarkets, places to eat, pick-ups for tours etc

The hotel is located in the city centre, which is great. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is free tea at the lobby, always available for quests. We are so glad we added breakfast when booking, because there were a lot of different options to choose from, and everything was delicious. The best thing is, if you book any tours you will not lose a lot of time searching where to buy food early in the morning (as all tours start early) because yummy breakfast is only a few steps away 😊 The staff is very friendly and kind, especially Dash, who works at the reception. In general, we liked the hotel, it was more than we expected for the price we paid.

We were satisfied with everything and hope we can visit again.

The Smarthotel is an excellent value. Yes, the rooms are small - that's the concept, but one does not come to Tromsø to sit in the hotel room, and all the essentials for a good rest are there. The beds are very comfortable, heavy drapes ensure good sleep during the polar day, the bathrooms are functional. Good breakfast, free coffee all day long. The common space where guests can lounge, eat their own food (there's even a microwave available) is a nice touch. A perfect place for a hiking/backpacking trip.

WiFi is open without security - VPN use is mandatory, or you risk getting hacked.

The hotel is very well located, at a walking distance from city center and from other local attractions. It provides a good breakfast, at a decent price. Easy check-in and check-out procedure. You can book day-trips and other activities from the Reception. The room was very clean. Temperature in the room was very good and the bed were very comfortable.

Room was quite small. There was no closet to store your clothes. The bed was placed just next to a window, so you were able to hear any noise coming from the street.

Great location in city center. Very kind stuff which will help you with any info about tours and attractions. I ve book a double room for miself which was warm and clean, but big enough for 1 person. I don't see 2 people confortable in this room size. There is free coffe and tea at reception.

No facilities in the room. No parking at hotel. There is a public parking 2 min away, but the cost is about 3 euro per hour, which is not great for long time...

Very comfy bed, warm could have done with option for extra pillows. Amazing facilities coffee, tea, hot water, milk. Male staff were extremely friendly and very helpful however there was a female receptionist that we had on arrival and during the stay on afternoon shift who was VERY RUDE and unhelpful. We asked if we could have more milk and she said ‘yes I will’ and carried on staring at her computer screen. We were told ‘I am too busy’ when we asked for help of a question to which we saw her then just empty a bin…..that let it down and we felt like we couldn’t then ask anything again.

I didn't felt particularly smart by booking here, but I got to admit the place was neat. There is a bar in the reception which is something I personally like, albeit you can find food in Tromsø everywhere - including just outside. You can do the registration in advance which in nice, too! I have really little to say: nice room, friendly staff, comfy bed and a good bathroom. Essentially this place look and feel the exact same as the Comfort Hotel but with a different name - they are even very close.

The only thing I could complain is the price: I felt it was a bit high despite not being in peak season, as I was here at the end of October. Other than that it's a good place to stay without a doubt!

The hotel is very well located and offered exactly what we needed - a clean place to stay close to all major atractions and lots of bars and restaurants. Given that we went there for the midnight sun, the room had courtains that made it dark enough to sleep without any issues. If you don't like to walk and prefer to take the bus, the hotel is surounded by bus stations to all locations of the island (including direct line to the airport). The street where the hotel is located is very quiet at all times - all you can hear are the seagulls.

The rooms are quite small, but it was to be expected given the hotel is significantly cheaper than others in the city. However, for two people, it was a bit of a challenge to manage the space (store the luggage, clothes, etc). Overall it was not a major inconvenience for us and for sure we'll be returning to Smarthotel for the northern lights.

Very nice hotel. Located in the very centre yet on a still street, so even if your window looks to the street, it will not be disturbing. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Pretty clean. Easy to set up the heating. Good shower, both pressure and temperature. The 2 in 1 shower gel + shampoo is ok. The bed is ok, I slept well.

Overpriced during the tourist season (which is to not really blame for, just letting you know). I visited in March, and I feel it was at least 30% above the average cost of such a room. The pillow was a little too big.

Great location, the meeting point for all the tours was not far away, close to Strogata street and all the well-known spots of Tromso. Really liked the room, for a solo traveller it was large enough, comfortable bed, clean and modern bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also offer free tea/coffee.

The last night I heard loud snoring from the room next to me so had some troubles with sleeping but that happened only once during my whole stay in the hotel. Otherwise all was pretty much perfect.
