The Hotel has a perfect location. The city center, many tourist attractions, grocery stores, restaurants and many bus stops are nearby within 5 minutes of walk. The reception is 0-24 which is a big advantage if you plan to go for a Norther light hunting tour. All the receptionists we met were very kind and helpful. The room was clean, well equipped, the bed was really comfortable, the size was perfect for a 5-day stay. The best part of our stay in the hotel was the breakfast, it was just amazing. The wide selection, including specialties like salmon or even caviar amused us. Also, my vegetarian wife felt that the selection was very inclusive, meat free options were available, not to mention the gluten- and lactose free options. We even received a free voucher for a light dinner (cold cuts and a warm vegetarian/vegan? soup), which was a nice surprise. The cherry on top was the free to use board game in the lobby, which was the local version of my favorite board game (Ticket to Ride: Northern Lights).

The stay was more expensive than the cost of such experience elsewhere in Europe, but compared to other hotels in Tromso it had a good price, so being expensive is likely the 'fault' of Tromso and/or Norway. Also some inconvenience was that the plastic bottles have deposit fees in Norway, which is great initiative for environment, so we kept our used bottles with the intention to bring them back (and get back the deposit fees), and stored them on the floor but quite far from the trash can, but one day during the cleaning, the bottles disappeared. This was really just some inconvenience, more than being a problem.

The staff at Thon Hotel Tromso was very friendly, especially the ladies responsible for breakfast and for supper in the mornings and evenings. The breakfast was delicious, wide range of food (and healthy food!!!) You could make some tea or coffee in the hall of the hotel whenever you wanted! The hotel is close to every meeting point for the activities we booked and very close to the centre. I have already recommended the hotel to friends and family who would like to visit Tromso too.

The kettle in our room was missing but, since we could make tea and coffee in the hall anytime we wanted, it didn‘t bother us.

Room was compact but served the purpose. Very clean, excellent standard of housekeeping. Bed a small double very comfy. Only downside was no view room faced a brick wall (510) This didn’t really bother us as we didn’t spend time in the room during the day. Bathroom was very clean fresh towels daily and lots of hot water.Wi-Fi was great. Kettle provided in room with tea and coffee sachets but no long life milk. Breakfast was excellent and catered to all needs. Lovely smoothies, energy shots as well as eggs, bacon, cereals, fresh bread, croissants etc. staff- reception/breakfast/ housekeeping were very friendly, helpful and courteous.

Comfortable beds, clean, great location, friendly staff, able to book a taxi from reception, great shower, good towels.

I had no kettle, and the cleaner took my spoon that I brought from home and also threw away my interdental brush. Had a view of a brick wall but it was OK. TV did not work, was not plugged in and the plug did not stretch far enough to the socket.

Very good location. Few hundred meters from harbour. Nice and clean rooms. Free coffee at reception was really good. Reception team was very polite, professional, friendly and always there to help in case of any queries. Breakfast buffet was really nice with loads of options. Would love to stay here and with Thon hotels again!!

Really cool hotel. Great location. Didn’t have much interaction with the staff but the times I did it was great. Have to say the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, great quality and selection. Egon restaurant across the street is well worth a visit. Nice vibe and really good food.

Very central location, pretty and completely clean hotel, very nice breakfast, spacious bathroom

The view was far from being great. The most negative point is clearly the price, even though it is comparable to other hotels in town. The city is of course unmissable but I strongly suggest to only spend a couple nights there and to rent a car if possible and find an accommodation in Kvaloya where you can find beautiful scenery, reindeers, Northern Lights and cheaper hotels

The room was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The location is fantastic. Right in the middle of town. And my favorite part of my stay was the amazing breakfast buffet. It was filled with some many items including juice shots, and vegan/vegetarian friendly options. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tromso!

No complaints at all!

The general environment of the hotel was very good. The breakfast was exceptional, the weekday dinner was not so good, very bland and not much choice. My only real problem was my toilet seat was broken, I reported this but it never got fixed.
