Absolutely stunning place, very secluded and peaceful with tasteful decor and a cosy but modern feel. The dining room and living room with big windows and a view over the sea and mountains are spectacular! They offer a range of great experiences and delicious food, and all the staff are helpful and friendly. The farm animals are very cute and there is even a dog, cat, and rabbit in residence! Absolutely recommend this place as an escape in an other-worldly landscape.

This is often a positive but just so people are aware, there is not really any other infrastructure nearby - if you're staying here without a car then you'll be eating all your meals here too, which isn't a bad thing (but can get pricy)! You also pay for everything: borrowing snow poles, snow boots, feeding the animals, etc. Again, that is fair enough, but it might have been a nice touch to allow guests to borrow snow shoes for free, as they aren't in high demand and seem quite low maintenance.

Beautiful location with the beautiful view.

Breakfast hours are 8-10 in the morning. By 8:40 almost no food left. And no food added. If you come to eat after 10 in the morning there is no food added and you told there is no more food left. Totally unacceptable!

The farm hotel was reasonably close to, for example, the island of Sommarøy, and it takes about half an hour to get there by car. The rooms were simple and clean. The shower and bathing facilities were modern and very clean. The farm had goats, sheep, a dog, a cat, chickens, and a bunny. Guests could freely interact with and observe the animals. According to the staff, some of the animals were up in the mountains at this time of year. We left early in the morning, so we didn't have time to eat breakfast, but the staff offered to prepare sandwiches for us to take with us. Recommended!

We LOVED the lodge area and how homey it was! You take your shoes off at the door and just get comfy cozy in the quaint space where you can see the water across the way. Then there’s an upstairs lounge where you can bring the most AMAZING carrot cake up there and just read or do work or whatever while you overlook the water and mountains. It’s quite majestic and charming. Then on our final night to commemorate the whole trip, the northern lights appeared for us right at the resort! Our stay here was remarkable and magical.

The huge step icy hill you had to climb up after parking at the bottom of it to get to the top where the resort is. You’d slip and slide down it. To avoid that, you have to climb through snow that goes above your knees. They should really implement an easier walkway/steps that they upkeep for guests.

Yggdrasil farmhotel was gorgeous, the rooms were clean as was the main dining area and the separate reading space. It was the perfect get away and exactly what we wanted. We went on multiple activities they had to offer such as the ice swimming and the Northern light cabin walk, both which we absolutely loved, the guides were really friendly and the activities were worth the prices. We easily got there from Tromso Airport on the 420 bus, as the stop is right outside the hotel All the staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate any request We had breakfast everyday which was toast, jams, fish, eggs and tea and coffee, lunch and dinner were also great. I told them i was vegetarian beforehand and was happy with the food I was served

We had a cosy cabin with two bedrooms, each containing a small double bed. I was sick so spent most of the visit in my room. I loved the comfortable bed with the big cushion for sitting up and being able to look out onto birch trees on one side and the farmyard on the other. I also appreciated being able to have my breakfast and dinner carried to me on a tray (by the friend I was travelling with).

I wished the dinners came with vegetables. One night I had spicy tomato-based cod fish with bread on the side and the other night the vegetarian option was pasta with oil and walnuts. Given how I was feeling, one was too spicy and other was too oily. Not the restaurant’s fault but some vegetables would have helped.

The farmhotel is perched on top of a hill and there is a beautiful view of the fjord. The same view can be seen when having breakfast. There are some goats and chickens at the farm which makes the stay lovely. The staff are nice. Breakfast is adequate and acceptable though more choices would be welcome. We enjoyed the coffee which was served to us. I enjoyed the stay and wished I have an extra night there. I would definitely stay here again should I return to Kvaloya.

The car park is located below the farmhouse and you need to walk uphill a short distance, maybe 30m to the farmhotel. When we arrived, we saw a sign that vehicles were not allowed up the slope so we parked at the car park and brought our luggage up. Later, we were told we could actually drive up and unload our stuff. This info could have been given to us during booking.

This place is just magical and we loved everything about it!! When booking, we were unsure between staying in a room or in the mini-house, and choosing the mini-house was the best decision ever. It had everything we needed! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the homemade food was delicious, the activities were fun and adventurous... The whole experience is just breathtaking and we had the best time!!

The food and drinks are expensive and everything is an extra cost, every facility, even a coffee outside breakfast hours is extra and so the bill at the end is bigger than you expect! We booked quite a few activities with them: jacuzzi, ice bathing + sauna and Northern Light cabin by the mountain. They were all amazing and worthy doing, but I wish they had provided a bit more of information about them beforehand, so I could prepare accordingly.

An amazing hotel with a very cozy and almost family-like atmosphere. Our room was very nice and had all we could ask for. The homemade dinner was amazing and we also enjoyed the breakfast. The location is a bit remote, but we used it on our last day after taking the ferry from Senja before we went back to the airport in Tromsoe. For that, it was perfect. The dining/breakfast rooms features a very nice panoramic view across the water. Most of the shared areas are 'no shoe zones' and though we were not used to it, it certainly helped us to feel a bit more like in our living room than in a hotel. The parking lot is big and offers sufficient space, though it is a few meters away from the hotel. When we were there, it snowed heavily so that the small hill became a bit slippery (though cars can be brought in front of the hotel to load/unload).

My partner and I loved our stay. It was the perfect escape from the city, it was so quiet and peaceful. We did the activities they have available - snow shoeing, saunas and spa and left feeling so rested. The food was a much higher quality than we expected, definitely restaurant quality and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff remembered my dietary requirements before I had to say anything - even if I hadn't seen that staff member before. The location is so beautiful and it was just bliss.

The wifi didn't reach the other end of our cabin but this didn't bother us/ there was space in the main building where you could use the wifi if needed.
