I absolutely loved the location of this hotel. It's in the center and within walking distance to so many places. It's not far from bus stops either. The room was cute, spacious, and comfortable. It had a sink in the room which was convenient and the shared bathrooms/ showers were just down the hall. They had a fully stocked kitchen with fridges to store any perishables you might have. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was transferring from a hostel across town so I had my bags to store at AMI until my room was ready but the lady who let me in told me to wait a few minutes and I could check into my room early. This was so great! I spent more here than the hostel but it was well worth the money and a great value.

The bathroom was a little cold at times and small. I loved the room I was in and it had wonderful windows and a neat view but I was on the same level as the sidewalk and street on that side so it felt kind of awkward to have my curtains open but that's just what happens sometimes. I suggest requesting a room not on the street level if this will be an issue for you!

Absolutely lovely place. I would put 11 points if could. The room was big and even had a sink and a fridge! Beds were comfy, had clean linen. Location is perfect: close to central street and public transport. There is well equipped kitchen and laundry! I will definetely stay here again next time!!

Only 2 toilets and 1 shower per floor could cause traffic jams during rush hours, but personally we never needed to wait. And guys! Nearly 99% hotels I stayed in lack hooks in shower. These cost nothing, but very needed to hang clothes or towel, especially if we have shared bathroom. Please add some hooks for clothes!

Well-equipped kitchen, sink+mirror+large for hotel standards fridge inside the room, free coffee/tea :), easy check-in/out process (doors to the property operate via a code, same as to your room, so it wasn’t a problem when I arrived around midnight), frequently cleaned shared toilets+shower, very nice homely atmosphere, great location just a few minutes’ walk away from the Tromsø cathedral & Storgata.

I wouldn’t have complained about a doormat or something similar inside the room, in a place like Tromsø that’s always muddy the only option was to either make a mess of the room’s floors or of the carpet outside

Great location. Very close to the center. Close to the bus stops for local busses to/from airport. (Local bus is cheaper than the "Airport Bus"). Kitchen is very well equipped for preparing any meals. Free coffee/tea all day. Several choices of coffee, including cappuccino. There is a dining area and small lounge. Room size is good. Room has a sink and a small refrigerator. I never had to wait to use the bathroom or shower. There is luggage storage. Need to arrange with hotel if before check-in. Northern Lights tours operate directly from the hotel.

Communication through booking.com was easy, easy check in and good location (I took a taxi from the Hurtigruten dock and even one to get to the Arctic Route bus stop, although this wouldn't have been necessary). Location is great: quiet, overlooking the city, good air and perfect to watch the Northern light, which I saw from there (other tourists walked up to the street just to watch the lights from there). The kitchen is well-equipped. It was great that I could open the window of the room and also handle the heater in whichever way I wanted. Didn't meet reception staff so I can't comment on that. But there are numbers displayed there as well as a lot of other information so I didn't need anything else.

Only very few toilets for seemingly a lot of rooms, but I had to wait only once. Not sure if they were maps of Tromso available, if so, I didn't find them, but it doesn't matter, as I just got one in one of the shops in the main street.

The things that mattered most -- the beds and the shower -- were great. Comfortable beds and a lovely shower with lots of hot water and a good 'drenching' shower head. The place was clean, the kitchen was fine (we only used it for tea/coffee) and the other guests all polite and quiet. The door codes were easy and enabled us to arrive in with minimal fuss (in the midst of a big storm... so more appreciated than usual!)

It was a little unnerving to not see any human host for the duration of the visit. I know this is the way of things these days but this place was more hostel (with guided activities) than AirBnB so I thought we might see someone, especially as there was severe weather during our stay. Someone to help people navigating the storm (e.g. help with getting taxis, finding out if things were cancelled, etc.) and the other aspects of their stay would have been nice. The common area on the ground floor was heated to an uncomfortable degree (like, 24C?). I had to crack open a window to sit comfortably in a light shirt without sweating.

Fantastic! My recent stay at Ami Hotel was absolutely fantastic! 10/10 for the location which is minutes away from the pier and the city center. Smooth check-in process, Big, clean and hygienic rooms. The staff is super friendly and helpful. highly recommended to anyone looking for a comfortable and value for money stay! Room was tastefully decorated and spacious too, The kitchen and other facilities provided by the hotel are impressively comprehensive, Tea Coffee is on the house! Loved the place and had a wonderful stay!

Nothing!

I knew I wouldn't find any 5 star kind of amenities but that was absolutely fine. The shared bathroom for 3 rooms wasn't a problem at all either. All very clean, exceptional location, affordable, relatively spacious room, very comfortable mattress and pillows and...free coffee! Nothing at all that could leave me disappointed, actually, I felt quite the opposite

Was hoping for a double bed but I got 2 singles. Perhaps felt a bit claustrophobic when in bed (and I am "only" 175 cm)

The big shared kitchen and dining space was perfect for making meals and meeting other guests. My room while super small, was very comfortable and quiet and the bathroom had a great shower. The staff were always helpful and fixed any small issues quickly. (My soap dispenser was jammed and they got it working right away.)

I did think for the price the room could have been bigger. It was just big enough for the bed, a desk and a fridge. Also another guest (drunkenly) pulled the fire alarm at 3 in the morning. There was no fire and obviously the hotel has no control over that but there was quite a bit of confusion as there was no staff person on site overnight and it was tricky getting clear instructions from them over the phone. No fire department came and no 'all clear' was ever given so it was all just a bit chaotic. Given it's an older building with a lot of rooms, I felt there needed to be more leadership from staff to keep guests informed and (in a real fire situation) safe.

Last time we stayed here the room was really small. This time I asked for a bigger room and they came through! So a good sized room that enabled us to keep it tidy! Also, the staff were so friendly and always on hand to help which was great. The location is perfect for exploring Tromso on foot. It is a delightful city and well worth the effort to do a walking tour.

Shame there is no drawers or wardrobes (closets) to store your clothes. We lived out of a suitcase all week.
