Location is perfect. Breakfast was superb. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel is little bit outdated. Pillows aren’t comfy. Electric kettle or coffee maker in room would be nice to have.

Best staff ever. Jose, Caterina and Pedro are first rate. Great people who made our stay delightful.

Ideally situated just round the corner from the railway station, close to restaurants and a good starting point for visits to the old town, university, etc.. It's a scrupulously clean and well maintained hotel. We had a room with a balcony giving a spectacular view of this city on a hill. (Tip: to visit the upper town find the city market and use the lift - much easier than the steps!). Breakfast is good. Reception staff are obliging and cheerful.

The bath/shower did not have any anti-slip mats or surfaces. There was an active building site at the back of the hotel - a bit noisy - obviously beyond the control of the hotel and this will doubtless cease before long.

The staff and the buffet breakfast were outstanding

There were 2 issues - there are some noise issues. There was a group of 3 motorcycle (dirt bikes) riders who enjoyed revving their engines at 1AM and doing circles around the block the hotel was on at least 5 times. It was really disruptive and loud. This happened all 3 nights I was there.

We stayed in the family suite - one bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with 2 twins, and a bathroom in between. The rooms were on the small side but very clean and the beds comfortable. The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop lounge - amazing views over the city of Coimbra! In the evening it was stunning! Plenty of comfortable seating on the roof and you can order a drink or snacks. Breakfast was in their lounge on the 5th floor with plenty of seating and beautiful views. The breakfast was really great with a lot of choices and plentiful. The location was perfect for walking to all attractions in the city. Free parking across the street in their garage was a huge help! The front desk staff were very helpful and gave us a great overview of the city and the main attractions. We would definitely stay here again!

We liked everything! Nothing negative to say.

I took Jurga's advice (her excellent travel blog is "Full Suitcase") and booked the Oslo for 4 nights. It did NOT disappoint. Staff was lovely. We were shown our room but offered an upgraded room which we ended up taking (30 euros extra per night, but well worth it). The view of the city from our floor to ceiling glass doors was amazing! The rooms was not huge but very functional and comfortable with room for luggage and a nice cozy chair with reading light. The hotel really does have a Scandanavian vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was small but very functional with plenty of room for toiletries and an excellent shower. The entire hotel is spotless and the staff is top notch. We were on the top floor where the restaurant is located. The included breakfast was EXCELLENT. There is also a roof-top terrace where you can have a drink and enjoy the view. The location of the Oslo is perfect; very central and around the corner from the train station. The wifi worked flawlessly. Highly recommend the Oslo. Thanks Jurga!

Can't think of a thing that was displeasing

The room was small, but had everything we needed. There was a comfortable bed, a nice closet, a bathroom with great shower, best toiletries of our trip, and a convenient blow dryer. The air conditioning was excellent. Room (even though on the lowest floor, looking out over the street) was nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good. Views from the breakfast room/bar and the rooftop patio (especially on a clear night) were awesome. The woman at reception spoke perfect English (and Portuguese, French, Italian. . .) and gave us a City Map after explaining all of the many sites to visit in Coimbra at check-in.

Absolutely nothing.

We arrived in Coimbra for the COLDPLAY concert. At check-in there had been a larger room cancellation which we were offered and accepted. That was great since we had extra luggage with us. This was my second stay. The breakfast array is wonderful & the view from both the bar area and the breakfast room is beautiful. The staff is always helpful with information and assistance and housekeeping is so effiecient. We had some on-line trouble with out tickets for the concert & the staff at the front desk went out of their way to help us. This is a small hotel that takes great pride in their hospitality service. Anyone who chooses to stay here won't be disappointed!

Everything about this place is fantastic. Price. Value. Location. Staff. Rooftop! If you don’t show up to Coimbra with a plan, no problem. The front desk staff will set you up with an “itinerary” and a list of things to do. The 5th floor room with balcony and city view is more than worth the cost; however, the rooftop and the spectacular city is available to all guests regardless of room type. Bonus: free parking in the nearby underground parking garage. Muito obrigado Hotel Oslo!

The room decor and layout is dated but it added to the charm of the hotel.

When we arrived, from the outside, I was bummed. It lacked charm and was at a busy intersection. BUT: I was happily surprised inside! Concierge, Paolo, made it awesome. He speaks 5 languages fluently and clearly loves his city and the hotel. He made us feel super welcome and helped us structure our stay better than a travel agent. He suggested sites, experiences and restaurants. and the hotel itself, has so many hidden surprises! The rooftop deck was amazing and we felt comfortable and at home. Great breakfast and bar, comfortable rooms and fantastic location at a fantastic price. Coimbra is a charming town and I’d go back and stay here any time.
