Very accommodating, prompt responses, everything was done through whatsapp which it was great, especially if you are on the go and visiting. I loved the way I could get in the accommodation straight after my arrival, there is a code to access the main door and the key was already in my spacious and clean room. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. I especially loved the windows in the bathroom and in the bedroom. The location of this hotel is superb as you are really close to the city center, to the main attractions and to the train/bus station (just a few minutes taxi ride - very inexpensive). I was very unfortunate with the weather in Portugal, as I landed in the country I was hit with thunderstorms! Maria was absolutely kind and generous to lend me her umbrella for the day, I was very surprised and to this day very thankful! It is always great to find someone that cares for her guest so much! She went above and beyond for me. The first morning I got up very early and found out the coffee shop around the corner opened only at 9.30am and when I told Maria that I was in desperate need of coffe as I am Italian, I need coffee to function, she understood my need very well and offered me a coffee from the kitchen (even though they don't serve breakfast!) I was absolutely delighted and very thankful! I had a last minute mind-change to stay an extra night and she found a solution for me to stay in her booked out residence. So kind and generous, I could never thank her enough!

Location was good, plenty of parking in the street We liked the old building Owner very helpful, she has messaged us instructions on how to enter the property as we have arrived at 20:00.

Air con was a bit old and barely worked, we couldn’t keep the windows open because of the mosquitoes so it was a bit hot in the night Bed was so small we couldn’t sleep comfortably No breakfast options even if we were happy to pay

The hotel is a historical building where you can really get an impression of old times (it combines historical furniture with modern devices and equipment). I imagine that if you visited a wealthy Portuguese family in the early 20th century, it would be something like that. Very stylish choice for those who like historical stuff. The hotel is situated within the walkable distance from the historical city center. Some shops, restaurants, and cafés are also located nearby. If you search for a good place for breakfast, there is a really good café within 5 minute walk from the hotel (just ask the host for recommendation). And speaking of the host, she is really very kind and helpful person.

The owner was super approachable and warm, she gave good advises regarding where to go in Portugal. She was really caring and as a alone traveler I truly appreciated. The facility was amazing, old style and well conserved. My bedroom was so comfortable, and the shower was the best I used in my 1 month trip in Portugal The location is great as well, you dont need any public transportation to have access to good restaurants and the historical center

Wonderful 2nd floor corner room with beautiful antique furniture and double doors opening onto a cool balcony. Good location for visiting/touring the University.

Bed was quite hard, somewhat uncomfortable. Having access to hot water in room for tea in a.m. would be helpful as no breakfast is served.

It's a quaint little hotel with antique sort of furnishing. So it does not feel like the run of the mill hotel, which is a pleasant change. The room, toilet and bed are very clean and comfortable. The host, Maria, was very pleasant, helpful and quick with communications. Will definitely stay here again if I go to Coimbra next time.

A kettle in the room would be nice though Maria boiled hot water for me when I requested.

It is a beautiful old house with big rooms, makes you feel as it was a long time ago. very clean and cosy. The owner Maria is very sweet and very helpful. very easy to park a car.

We felt would be nice to be able to drink a coffee in the room or reception, but it was not available.

Larg and spacy room. Its an old but very well maintained bilding. Besides fridge it had every thing we neaded. The bathroom is wide and comfortable. Maria, the oner, was a sweet and kind angel.

Too tuf matressas. We felt the coils. The closet didnt have enough shelves.

Lofty, spacious room, with nice furniture, located on the city centre's edge on a quiet street. Park and restaurants around the corner. On walking distance to the livelihood of the old town of Coimbra.

However the contact with the owner was great, we have never met.

We arrived here quite late , there was no one in person waiting for us, but it was extremely simple to get in with the door’s code given by the owner of the place. Nice and quite location, outside the historical centre of the town, but just an easy steep walk away.

nothing really to say, possibly just a bit more attention to the curtain in the bath in the bathroom and the toilet seat, they both should be replaced with something newer. Also, the third bed in the room would be ok for a kid, a bit small for an adult
