The hostel is a converted grand old town house with marble floors and high ceilings. The rooms themselves are also spacious, sparsely decorated with plain white walls , white shutters , a white desk and bedside tables. The bed was very comfortable and a fan had been supplied for additional comfort. The shared kitchen and bathrooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly to a good standard. The property’s key feature is the large rooftop terrace - a great place to enjoy your breakfast while you plan your day or have a nightcap in the moonlight. Nothing is more than 15 minutes walk away, mostly nearer. So you can easily access the monuments shops and restaurants , the dock (for great sea views and fabulous boat trips to the islands and beaches of the national park ) bus and train stations.

Only a small thing but because it’s an old building, understandably, some of the infrastructure is well worn, so sometimes you can be disturbed by creaking doors or floorboards at night.

Really well located.Within walking distance of the train and bus terminal. Loads of great restaurants and cafes around. Very close to the marina and a couple of museums. The kitchen is well equipped if you are planning on eating in as well and there are mini markets around. The closest just opposite the hotel, and a bigger one down the street. The terrace is really nice in the evening to relax and catch a bit of sun. I stayed in the double room, the bed is a king size with a comfortable mattress on the softer side and the room has a small desk if you need to get some work done. They had cleaning everyday so all the shared spaces were very clean.

The internet is fine to watch videos and I was even able to attend a video call but when trying to login to a computer remotely that was too slow to be practical.

Nicely located, close to city centre, comfy beds, affordable price.

Unexpected fauna (pharaoh ants everywhere and some lonely cockroach), no kettle in kitchen.

shared bathroom quite old but very clean. a bit noisy at night outside but not the fault of the hostel.

Loved the rooftop terrace and the kitchen. Location was good, only about 7-8 min walk to the centre. Staff were really kind and helpful too. (Not easy to achieve in a hostel where staff tend to 'burn out' quickly.) With the curtains on the beds and the very high ceilings you have a decent amount of space and even a bit of privacy.

It can be a bit of a challenge fitting in if you are a bit older, but the it's the same issue in any hostel. I still prefer it to a hotel if I'm travelling solo.

I have stayed in this hostel before. It is located in the centre, only a short walk from the marina etc. I think it has been freshened up, rooms painted etc. It had a nice feel to it. Kitchens are available, showers were clean, room was clean and spacious. The staff are lovely and obliging. There is a terrace area outside. The WiFi was good. I'll be staying here again next time I'm in Faro.

No lockers in the room

Last minute booking due to being let down at another accommodation, staff extremely helpful throughout the stay, location excellent, close enough to be part of everything and yet on the edge to help with the night time noise. Building itself is great, huge rooms, high ceilings, massive roof terrace.

If I could change anything it would only be the beds, this was the only thing that let the stay Down. The rooms are great and spacious but the metal bunk beds were very squeaky and hindered the sleep, all though still comfortable. With the size of the rooms single beds or wooden bunk beds would have been a better option.

Such a beautiful building with huge roof terrace. Authentic feeling in the corridor (tiles on the floor and walls etc). Spacious and big hostel on several floors with many rooms. The room and the bed was prepared perfectly, everything was clean and fresh. Each floor has a kitchen and many bathrooms. Locker was also provided. Location is great, only couple minutes to the very centre. Vegan restaurant (they offer buffet) is also just next door!

Didn’t seem to be a party hostel, just gives you a pleasant stay. Was actually surprised it only had 7.9 rating, for me a clear 10.

We booked for only one night but would have loved to stayed longer, very clean and nice room, the baths to share were totally fine, loved the rooftop terrace for breaks! The staff was was very friendly, we arrived before check-in time and we could deposit our luggage and check in later that day - so check in and check out was super easy! Loved to stay in the hostel!

We had a two man room , beds were clean and comfy . Tall doors that opened onto a small balcony which was very welcome in the mornings . Staff were very pleasant and helpful. toilets and showers were cleaned every day.Checkout time was 11am so no rushing about in the morning and they kept our bags for us untill we picked them up at 5pm to go to airport so no carrying them around all day . short walk to the marina and plenty restaurants around. Love Faro and would deffo use this hostel again.
