I was thoroughly impressed for the value of the hotel for the price, while I wouldn’t describe the hotel as the epitome of luxury, I felt comfortable and safe on my solo trip. The city centre and beach were easily accessible by local buses or the hotel shuttle and the absolute highlight of my experience was the hotel personnel! The staff at the desks and throughout the building were so friendly and accommodating! I cannot express how much of a positive difference it made to my stay! I conversed with everyone, and was advised very well- but that’s just me being extremely chatty, they do not necessitate an unnatural amount of dialogue. I was helped from the minute I arrived and I cannot thank them enough, I had a map printed out, for me, with local restaurants in walking distance and my stay was made easier whenever possible. I was upgraded and that was definitely a pleasant surprise. I wanted a local feel for my trip without cutting corners with living standards and I was very happy. The room and bathroom were a decent size, very clean and the balcony was nice for evening calls. I made use of all amenities and I cannot complain, I had the full experience offered and left a happy customer. I had no expectations, as it was a last minute trip but I would stay at Hotel Monaco again. The professionalism and care is note worthy, thank you! (The picture attached is of the view from my balcony at night)

The hotel staff were excellent in all respects, from the very friendly, helpful, efficient team on reception, the shuttle bus drivers, breakfast and bar staff and the cleaners. Although the hotel is located about halfway between the airport/beach and central Faro, the daily shuttle bus and other transport links made the location work.

The outdoor pool temperature was recorded as 25° each day, but it didn't feel like that. The local area doesn't have much by way of good eateries (Frangaria being the exception), so whilst the hotel has an acceptable snack menu, if you want more meal options you need to go further afield and look at transport options.

catja at reception was very friendly and helpful. rooms nice with a little balcony , clean and AC . we decided to walk from airport to hotel when we arrived at 22:30 and it was only a 25 minute walk ( we only came with hand luggage for 3 days ) the breakfast was downstairs in the basement which I didn’t mind as it was nice and cool Breakfast itself was plenty and I can’t see why people have previously moaned about it took the shuttle bus from hotel to faro town and back they even phoned us say pick up was delayed because of traffic after an accident

tried to get the shuttle the next day again but an older guy at reception said it wasn’t available that day as it was needed to go shopping he said he phone us a taxi whilst driving we noticed no meter and a bit shocked when he charged us 15 Euros considering that we paid 7 for the exact journey back we thought that we had been ripped of . wouldn’t recommend the hotel arranging a taxi

Overall, I am satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff have been exceptional, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The breakfast provided was also outstanding. On a positive note, the hotel's proximity to the airport is highly convenient, and the shuttle service to the airport, city center, and beach is exceptional. However, I admit that I made an error in my choice of destination, as I had intended to stay near Albufeira. This was my own mistake, and it should not reflect negatively on the hotel.

However, there are a couple of points I would like to address. Firstly, I expected to find water and toothpaste in my room, but unfortunately, these amenities were not provided. It would be greatly appreciated if the hotel could offer these basic necessities in the future. Water, in particular, is a fundamental need, and it can be inconvenient not to have access to it, especially when the hotel's canteen is closed late at night. Additionally, I arrived at the hotel around 11:50 p.m. and was unable to obtain water due to the canteen's closure. Perhaps extending the availability of water sources, such as filling points, could alleviate this issue for late-night arrivals.

Staff was friendly and helpful although when it comes to offering suggestions of what to do or where to go especially with kids they are a bit limited. They could do with more information about transport and activities to thereafter inform guests.

Breakfast room( in basement) could do with bit more work. Would not want to spend anymore time there than necessary. It was like eat and go. Breakfast option very limited but OK. That private taxi company hotel uses it's unbelievable expensive . No need for that. It's like making guests spending more money on a service that's quite frankly ridiculous. A 5 minutes trip to Faro marina 15€. Just find a couple of reliable taxi drivers and team up with them.

This hheotel had 24hr check in. I had hired a car 1 week earlier but there is a shuttle bus from Faro Airport. The outdoor swimming pool was warn and there were good sunbeds in the garden. The bedroom was warm. There was a balcony and as the windows were facing east, so your view was looking over the other residential buildings as the sun was rising in the morning. Monaco Hotel was on a little mound overlooking the inland coastal plainThe staff were very security minded. The buffet breakfast was great. Selection of fresh sliced fruit, sliced tomatoes cucumbers and peppers, several types of bread and cereals with milk soya milk and one other type of milk. Pastel da nata chocolate croissants. Bread can be toasted. Scrambled eggs and frankfurters were heated. .Different coffees and teas and fruit juices. No baked beans but may be on other days

The pictures about the Monaco Hotel were very outdated. The inside views looked right. The outside surroundings were completely different. Obviously now in a residential area on the outskirts of Montenegro The airport approach road is about 100 yards away but there are other hotels near the airport too. The shuttle bus takes about 7 minutes to get to the airport. The hotel needs to be sign posted . For many years you could see a sign on top of the hotel visible when you land, about 2 days ago, they were either replacing light bulbs or taking the sign down. The hotel needs signs for guests travelling by car. It could be a good idea for the hotel bar ,cafe to be open before 15.00hrs in the afternoon especially if people are using the swimming pool.

Location - Close to Airport and Close to the old town of Faro. Employees - Very helpful, smily. Recommended places to go, Activities to do. Clean - my room was spotless, so was the rest of the hotel Comfortable - Great lounge area & my bed and pillows were comfortable. Swimming pool - Is a plus, definitely. They also provided towels (deposit required)

Not that I didn't like but these are 2 points on the minus side: For a 4 stars, you could expect more for breakfast, however, this was convenient and more than enough for me. They had: breads and pastries, ham and cheese, yogurts, fruits, cereals, different juices, tea/coffee. Shuttle service - Advertised on their website, but not available on my arrival and departure dates. (However, good bus service, bus stop near the hotel door step)

Comfortable rooms. Breakfast varied and delicious. Friendly young boy who helped us a lot in our search for places to visit in the centre

The Lady that manages the kitchen/ breakfast buffet is such a mean woman especially to the young kid who does his best! She should get fired - she is so mean and speaks loud that one cannot enjoy breakfast in the morning!!! Seriously if the hotel manager is reading this - that Lady is not liked by nobody and she made the young boy ( I think Juan) crying one morning because simply he added a chair to the table set up for two. Instead of speaking calmly, she started yelling at him and he felt embarrassed in front of everybody. I didn’t want to open a discussion because I did not want to upset my mum being on holidays and she is lucky mum was with me otherwise I would have taught greatest lesson on this world. Ugly ugly woman hope you are fired soon

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good they had a decent choice of breakfast dishes, the room was nice, big enough and well kept/cleaned.

Wasn't the best location due to there not being much nearby in regards to tourism and holidaying. Would mean traveling a little further out to find things to do, sight see etc. However good if you are just stopping over (close to airport & motorway).

Booked this hotel last minute when my daughter had to go to hospital meaning we missed our flight and had to get a new one in the morning. This was the only hotel with a room available in the area so I wasn’t expecting much but it was exceptionally clean, the room was nice and cool with air conditioning and the bed was very comfortable; I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Front desk staff were lovely and gave us a bag of food and drinks to take on our journey as we checked out before the free breakfast started. Such a wonderful, easy experience during a difficult time.
