Location right in the heart of the old town so excellent location for resturants and beach/marina. Staff were very helpful and friendly. WiFi very good, room had hairdryer, toiletries and TV.. Bed was comfortable and towels changed every day if needed. The kitchenette was great for putting food in the fridge and making a breakfast/cereal. Please note this is a budget hotel so don't expect luxury, however it is very convenient and I would stay again.

Would feel nicer if the rooms had a quick coat of paint, otherwise it's fine bit it could have been just my room

The personal We asked about beaches and the women in charge gave us no infirmation. Saud that there was not much to see in Lagos. Fortunately someone in a store told us about Praia Camilo and Praia Dona Ana, which is definetely the prettiest places in the Algarve. We couldn't believe the woman and man in charge of the hotel said the only beach there was, was the one across the street from the hotel... TERRIBLE ATTITUDE!! People like that can ruin your trip.

Great location close to centre of old town, shops, restaurants and marina area a short walk away. Walking distance to beaches and water taxi to other side on the main sea channel and a beautiful beach is close by. Balcony on sea side just big enough for two chairs and great spot to watch all the boats coming and going. Staff helpful and let us leave luggage and use bathroom before we left.

There was no fridge in room which would have enhanced the stay. You do have access to a shared fridge in kitchen area downstairs but not the same as having one in the room. Two extra pillows would have been good.

Very good cost-benefit, the hotel is right in the middle of the town, next to restaurants and shops, the parking is just behind it. Walking distance to some of the beaches in Lagos. My room was sea view, wonderful view. It was clean, the bathroom was big, clean and a big window to the sea. Air conditioning working well.

Nothing much, but for the double bed they join two single beds, I dont like it, sometimes I feel the space in the middle.

Location and the balcony we were in the heart of the restaurant district so easy to choose a spot. Our balcony looked into the city but allowed for downtime and people watching. The owners do all the work and are helpfull and pleasant. The rooms are large for an older hotel. There are 5 rooms with balconies, ours was the largest. The 4 at the back look out to the marina but will only accommodate one chair. It is easy to find and a 12 minutes walk from the train and bus station.

The rooms did not have a fridge, but they did allow us to use the fridge in the kitchen so that was nice. The front side is on the active avenue, so expect some noise from below as Lagos stays open till past midnight. Not a negative as all the hotels in the downtown will be the same unless you face the water.

Huge surprise , very positive feadback! Clean and nice place, with friendly staff ( no problems with communication in English) and the biggest plus is the location of the facility - right in the center of Lagos !!!! Leaving the facility, you immediately go to the main streets of Lagos. Only very noisy at night, but it was Saturday/weekend - so rather understandable :) If I were to visit Lagos again, I would definitely choose this place again

Hotel & Room where clean. Bath is not hugh but also not tiny. Room had enough space for me and my bag, but there is no dedicated place in the room to store the bag so is need to be somewhere around the bed. Hotel is really central to the town center. You roughly enter it over one of the main streets. Close to the city beach (but would recommend Porto Mos Beach). Due to the close proximity to town centre you have multiple options for restaurants, bars... this is Good and Bad.

I was in the hotel on a Thursday and Friday night. In both nights it was loud from outside. Especially on Friday. My room where on the side to the canal away from main street but there where a lot of noices until late in the night (~5 o'clock) so be aware of it. I don't say that it is bad but you should know what expect you. So even if you go out by yourself, nightlife will not stop before 4-5 o'clock

We had a beautiful sea view room with a small balcony. The staff were fantastic. They offered us the use of a fridge and a common area if we wanted to bring back takeaway. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room. The room had a walk in shower and was cleaned every day. Slap bang in the middle of the main pedestrian street. We will definitely stay again when we return to Lagos.

Location was excellent. We had a sea side room. Really nice having staff on site. Room was small but very clean. We’d stay there again. Close to bus depot, beach and lots of great restaurants.

Some noise at 4 or 5 am from people going home and the garbage pick around 6 was a little noisy. Not a deal breaker but shower drain could not keep up with shower so floor could get wet and slippery.

Hotel Mar Azul is basic .. in a good way. Clean room, good shower, comfortable bed, decent WiFi, convenient to everything, and in old town Lagos. Nothing fancy, but it’s a solid 2 star hotel.

Tad bit noisy in the early evening. But - that’s to be expected in the middle of tourist shops, restaurants, and next to a town square.
