I spent a few pleasant days in this hostel. it is simple accommodation, with basic furnishings and fittings and spaces cleared of unnecessary objects, which allows for order and good cleanliness. The staff is friendly and competent. I believe that for the rates they charge, it is not easy to find better in Lisbon, in fact I have my doubts even spending more. I have been to another accommodation in the centre where the price was always higher than the SwissLisbon, and I was very unhappy. It was in a nice flat in a multi-storey building, with good furniture and good technology, this is why they boasted of being a Lisbon Top Hostel. What disappointed me was the great incompetence I noticed in the behaviour of the staff. They were only present at check-in to register documents and assign you a bed to sleep in, then they would leave and leave the guests alone. I believe that people are not data on identity documents, and that you cannot run a hostel unless you are present and understand what they are like and what their needs are. The limited contacts I had with the administration staff of this hostel were like a knife in my heart. They were icy people, repeating a short chant to each one and pointing them to a room and a bed, without ever looking them in the eye, without ever listening to their words, as if they were inanimate objects to be placed on a shelf and not individuals with a nature of their own that a good hosteller always tries to discover. This contrasted so much with the good quality of the accommodation that it made their behaviour even more out of place, and any refined furnishings and useful and functional technologies lost their meaning in front of the indifference and detachment from human values that I perceived in them. I thank SwissLisbon for helping me to discover and love Lisbon and its people.

I wasn't planning to visit Lisbon, but in the end I decided to spend a week there to get an idea of what it was like, and what life was like there. I was lucky to book the SwissLisbon hostel, because looking on the net it showed nothing more than other hostels in the lower price range. It didn't show anything more because it delivered what it promised, unlike them. Many had rates that I judged excessive when comparing with top destinations in Europe, and the other cheap hostels I think were unlikely to have the same quality as the SwissLisbon, which although simple is neat, clean, and has a professional and attentive staff. Other than that, I have been to a couple of accommodations in the same price bracket and was disappointed. Disappointed means that they were in a poor condition, the work of people who in my opinion were trying to make a quick profit with little effort by taking advantage of the growing market. One of them, very close to the Jardim da Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques, seemed scandalous to me, in need of urgent renovation or closure. Very small, a six-bed dormitory and a couple of private rooms, the first thing one noticed on entering was the poor lighting and the poor quality of the furnishings and fixtures, all dated and not functional. The electrical system needed review as there were numerous exposed wires and other irregularities. The external fire escape was covered on several floors with sheets hung out to dry, making the place resemble a homeless shelter. In the inner courtyard that this metal staircase overlooked, a mountain of rubbish bags stood out, making the skin crawl and giving a profound sense of squalor and insecurity from a sanitary point of view. It was all so depressing. I deeply thank all the staff at SwissLisbon, for allowing me with their valuable work to enjoy my stay in Lisbon, which is a beautiful city where there are welcoming people who seek an encounter with pure feelings and not just to make money.

I think that among the cheap hostels in Lisbon this is one of the of the best. Booking last minute, I stayed in some budget hostels and I noticed that it is easy to end up in accommodations that although centrally located do not have adequate sanitary conditions and convenient facilities, with heavy repercussions on the serenity and cheerfulness of the guests. To my knowledge the authorities closed some of them as they did not possess an adequate standard. Swiss Lisbon is not only clean and has relatively new if simple installations and furnishings, but it has professional staff and it is located close to important tourist attractions. I promote it wholeheartedly, with the belief that the budget-conscious traveller can stay there without difficulty.

It’s a very affordable hostel in a good location to catch busses trains and dining . The staff was professional and the lady that cleans the establishment does a very good job and works very hard . Thank you to her and the staff . It is very save and over all great vibes . And a great idea for budget travelers.
For the price it’s great . I’m new to staying in hostels so bad to get used to some guest that I roomed with that had no consideration for the fact they were sharing a room but that had nothing to do with the business it’s self .

Great cost benefit. We’ve spent there one night as we had to stay in Lisbon for a connecting flight. The personal was welcoming, helpful and really kind. The room was tidy, tiny and bit hot but we’ve had a fan inside. The bathroom is in the hall. It was overall clean and nice. There was some mould in the shower area but not that it would hit me on the eye the first thing. Sheaths were clean as well as the whole room.
You can only enter the building by ringing the reception and do that so until 2 am only. It’s bit far from the centre.

Staff were kind and location although a 50 minute walk from the centre(10 minute bolt)the area has lots to do (I recommend walking around the lx factory), places to eat, and a decent supermarket 2 minutes away.
My partner and I stayed in the private room which was small but truly not an issue if you’re just there to sleep.

Let me start by saying that I came to the hostel last minute and I was little bit worried about reviews, this wouldn't be my first choice... It definitely exceeded my expectations, bed was very comfortable, although the room was pretty small. All the premises have been very clean, I slept like a baby met nice people and it all came in a great value. I can definitely recommend this place for overnights and budget travelers. It's located in a quite neighborhood just a minute from Lx factory - must see in Lisbon...

Everything was exceptional, the room was splendid, even more for the price, if I had found it sooner I wouldve stayed there for my whole trip! Host was exceptional as well, very kind and friendly
Late check-in fee is 10 euros, a little high but if It was disclosed beforehand I would feel better

Extremely nice staff, always willing to help. Good access to trains. Close to other things such as Lidl and pharmacies.
Right next to road so except noise from trams and busses. Also only three bathrooms. The noise didn’t bother me and if your early bathrooms are no problem.
