Free and good breakfeast. Amazing room that was cleaned daily. Nice and friendly staff. Good location. A lot of space for free parking. Easy access from the highway. Close to Funchal, but far away from the confusion, therefore calm and peaceful.

The mini fridge in the room made a lot of noise and couldn't even cool a water bottle at max setting. The air conditioning couldn't keep the room under 24 C° degrees even at maximum with cold Setting.

I asked the reception for earlier check-in and I got a room 1,5 hours earlier the official check-in time. The breakfast was generous: scrambled eggs with ham, choice of cupcakes (brownie was especially tasty), fruits, juice, coffee, youghurt etc.

My room was quite simply furnitured, the floor in the bathroom wasn't very clean (I saw sameone's hair on the floor and the floor was still wet). I could hear a noise from the river dam just from my window. There were not enough choises of food in the hotel's restaurant for dinner: I could choose from 2 dishes only. So, I had to go to eat a tuna steak to the restaurant in Biletheria in the centre of the town (and it was really good!) The hotel offers a 10 % discount (this is good ;) Water in the roof top swimming pool was too cold. When I booked this hotel, I expected a heated swimming pool...And the pool is open from 9.00 and closes at 19.00. I think the price for a such a simple room was too high.. I would say, Santa Cruz is not worth visiting, unless you have an early flight.

The hotel is over all very good, you have 3 terraces to relax (one with pool, which is big and also good for swimming). It feels very relaxed. The room was very good, beds were soo confortable. Breakfast very also very good, they had many sweet options. Check out is at 12h.

We reserved room for 3, but in the room there were towel on only one bed and in the bathroom, there were some plastic cups only for 2 people and it was randomly puted on the shelf (the cups were like 20 cm from each other.) Everything was just fine, but it absolutely doesnt give 4 star hotel vibes. Breakfast sweet selection was perfect, but there wasnt any vegetarian cooked meal (eggs, omelette, etc.- unfortunetelly everything was with meat).

Staff were very friendly and professional. Room was spotless and bed was comfortable. As we had an early start, before breakfast time, we were provided with a packed lunch which we appreciated very much. The Santa Cruz area is beautiful and lovely to stroll around. Excellent value for money. We will certainly visit again.

Unfortunately there was no explanation on the menu, advertised outside of the hotel (or that we missed), that the evening meal would be a set menu so prior to going for our walk we decided on what to eat at the hotel on our return. The set meal price was great value but we were disappointed that we did not have the option to choose our food. When our main course was served the plates were cold, detracting from the heat of the food, and our meal was tepid at best.

We got a very restful night - we stayed in C. Lobos the week before where during each night fireworks went off at varying intervals, at last, here there weren’t any fireworks and we slept through (there may be some traffic noise as our room was facing the street but with the windows shut that was hardly noticeable). Good choice if you’re travelling to Madeira in December and want to avoid noisy night-time celebrations.

To my surprise there wasn’t a kettle in the room, which was disappointing.

The hotel had a pleasant design, the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was varied and the restaurant staff was very friendly. There is a lovely garden at the second level of the hotel and a small but nice rooftop pool.

Generally it was a pleasant stay but we did notice some things which could be improved in the future: Besides shower and hand gels, no toiletries were provided. Only one side of the bed had an electrical socket at reach. There was no actual wardrobe/ closet/ shelves and any clothing you wanted to keep out of the luggage, you had to just lay it around the room. When we asked for breakfast "to go", before restaurant's opening hours, we were happy to hear that they will accommodate our request, but it was unpleasant to discover that the only sandwich they had prepared for each of us, was made out of two slices of bread and one veeery thin slice of ham or a veeery thin slice of cheese. Additionally, my personal opinion: the omelette at breakfast was quite strange (texture & taste).

I had a couple of extra days in Madeira waiting for my flight home. Hotel Bom Jesus fitted my needs perfectly. Santa Cruz is a pretty little place, not far from the airport. The hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming, lent me a phone charger connection. The hotel is clean with quirky, attractive furnishings in public places and a nice pool on the third floor terrace. A nice quiet retreat for a few days sun, reading, relaxing.

One tiny criticism, it would have been nice to have a bed cover to place my suitcase on to unpack - did so on the floor rather than soil clean white sheets.

This place is an exceptional value. Where will you find in Madeira an accommodation with breakfast for 60 EUR a night, Swimming pool and sun deck terrace? Nowhere! Modern attachment to old building, well sound proofed too, with closed windows the outside noise was blocked to minimum. Due to extreme noise of landing and taking off aircraft every few minutes from nearby airport you will really appreciate this. Mini Supermarket only few meters from the hotel and Santa Cruz village centre with restaurants and promenade about 10 minutes.

Little bit of TLC needed here: aircon cooling mode didn't work, only the fan blowing the same hot air. Same the minifridge, the cooling fan making noise, but no cooling effect at all.

The perfect location for Madeira. Impeccably clean (and I have very high standards for hygiene), very quiet, super nice staff, great location, very easy to get to all Madeira's interest points. I initially chose it because of airport proximity for my very late arriving flight, but I wish I had booked it for my entire trip. No need staying in Funchal at half the quality and double the price. The bus for Funchal is really close, which means you can get to the capital's center easier than from some locations in Funchal (I should know). Bonus, my 4th floor room (room 401) opened onto a terrace with a lovely garden with flowers and trees. It was heaven after the very long travel. I highly recommend this hotel, it is truly perfect.

This hotel is very close to the sea-front (10 minutes) and even closer to the centre. Santa Cruz is a delightful village with everything one needs to have a lovely time, excellent restaurants, a beautiful promenade and good bus-service to Funchal. The hotel was very comfortable, clean and offered a good variety of food at breakfast. Rooms were very spacious and spotless. We were very pleased with our choice.

The only thing that could be fixed is the noise coming from the A/c - otherwise nothing needs to be looked at.
