Good selection of breakfast and offered specialist milk for allergies. Breakfast and dinner were very repetitive though and sinner not worth 35 euro per night that they charged. Waiting staff were friendly and attentitive. Happy hour in the bar was good, half price drinks 5-6pm. Rooms were large and comfy, the hotel generally was exceptionally clea and the house keeping team were great. Good location and price, would recommend

Staff on reception weren't the friendliest. My air con was slightly damaged and no kettle in the room. No irons available either. My toilet flush broken slightly and some aspects of the hotel are a little run down but I was very happy with my stay

We visited Vasco da Gama 40 years ago and the hotel is largely unchanged; it has remained authentic to the period in which it was built. We loved the pool area and snack bar. The beach has beautiful white sand, has a gentle slope into the sea and is long and good for walking.

Unlike the hotel, Monte Gordo has changed a lot, with more hotels bars and restaurants a big wheel and a fun fair for the kids, but it’s not our scene really.

Our first visit since 1969 when we sneaked in as teenagers to use the swimming pool. The accommodation and general ambiance of the hotel has a touch of class. We will be returning. Already booked for October. The location and parking is perfect for a long or short break.

Our only slight dissapointment was the breakfast/ dining room which is a bit regimented and 'school' like. However, that is nitpicking and didn't make a lot of difference to our stay.

Adjacent to the beach. Substantial buffet breakfast with good strong coffee. Lovely wood paneled lobby & bar with vintage prints which created a warm ambiance. Friendly bar tenders who mixed excellent cocktails.

The hallway leading to our room was very dark & depressing. It needs to be refurbished with better lighting.

Excellent location, beautiful beach, great places to eat locally, hotel breakfast was brilliant. Was there with my family of 4 kids. They loved it. Pools are brilliant and good food ice lollies etc at pool bar. Staff very helpful. Room was great we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. It was very big and the shower was brilliant. Very clean and maid service every day to clean bathrooms floors etc fresh towels and change beds.

Nothing everything was brilliant. Couldn't fault it.

The breakfast was excellent. Great choice and good coffee. The location simply could not be better. Walk out the back onto a boardwalk leading directly onto the beach. Walk out the front and you’re 50m from café shops etc. No charge for safety deposit in room. Lovely pool area with plenty of beds and umbrellas.

It's a lovely hotel, olde worlde, if you like modern It's not for you. Stayed B & B, the buffet breakfast is exceptional, the location is as good as it gets, room cleaned 7 days a week, the pool and pool area spotless, I had room with sea view, it's beautiful, it was my 2nd stay there and I'll be staying there again in 2023

Location amazing, right by the beach and downtown, very easy with a small kid. The apartment was beautifully decorated and practical.

The pool area, albeit very clean and cosy, with a bar, was too deep for a pre-schooler, this age group is not contemplated in the pool area.

From the welcome on arrival to the convenience of parking, the cheerfulness of all the staff and the excellence of breakfast, everything conspired to make our nostalgic trip back to our honeymoon hotel fifty years ago a memorable and happy experience - and I've not even mentioned the courtesy bottle of wine! Thank you to all!

There was nothing we would want to criticise and we have no suggestions for improvement. The hotel has been operating for sixty years and parts of the building are showing its age but that just adds to its character.

Walking distance from the beach Free parking for the hotel guests We were on the 5th floor at first where rooms need an upgrade. We asked to change rooms and staff helped us find a nicer room on the 3rd floor (picture) I would recommend the sea view (instead of the street view) even if you pay more for it. Good size pool Mini golf and tennis court

As said above some rooms needs some upgrade. Mini golf and tennis could be “cleaned” once in a while. Beach club is indépendant from the hotel so you pay an extra 15€ for sun-beds on the beach. Breakfast - no surprise - as it’s always the same.
