Room and building were clean; provided a list of restaurant suggestions; small hotel with 13 rooms; room and bathroom are spacious; fun colorful tiles in bathroom; hot water and good pressure in the shower; has windows that open; has a garden space with tables and chairs - love the wooden swing bench; quiet at night even with the window open; floor standing fan to create moving air; outlets and nightstands on each side of bed; room has a small wooden table and 2 armchairs; breakfast is from 7-9 on weekdays and 7-9:30 on weekends; breakfast is part order and part buffet - you can order eggs, meats, porridge, pancakes and then you can choose from the buffet area fruits, sweet breads, yogurt, yogurt toppings, juices and water; the coffee was delicious as was the pancakes and porridge - real food made right in their kitchen; can sit inside or outside in the garden during breakfast; can hear birds singing; have antique furniture in the hallway; strong internet connection

Our room was on the ground floor; room is facing street not a garden view as I read in the description; no balcony - the description said there was one - our view is tall buildings and cars - from the outside I can see 2 rooms with balconies facing the garden and 1 room with a balcony facing the street; double bed is 2 single beds/mattresses pushed together; no flat sheet; pillows are large and very soft; when shower is on there is a loud noise like static heard in the bedroom - can be bothersome to other person in room; bathroom has small glass windows at top of wall so bathroom light goes into bedroom

I rarely give 10 to a hotel but Arcus surpassed my expectations. 1. Location: 10 minutes walking distance to city centre, yet next to a small park and few diverse dinning places and coffee shops. In case you travel by car, there is a parking space, in case you use the transportation - there are numerous trams/buses/trolleys 300-500 meters away, yet the street itself is not busy and quiet during the night. 2. Rooms: spacious and clean but really clean I can compare it only to few hotels I've stayed. The bed was king size (2 mattresses) and very comfortable. There is a quiet mini bar (so many mini fridges have bothered me with their noise). There is a welcome bottle of water and all kinds of bathroom amenities. 3. Breakfast: there are 8 options of freshly made dishes which are scrumptious supplemented by block table style diversity of additional tiny bites like nuts, fruits, breads, yoghurts, etc. 4. The garden: looked neatly mowed and peaceful with a tiny gazebo, few tables and open barbecue which I guess during the warmer months would be operating. 5. Atmosphere: friendly staff, most of who spoke English, the hotel itself looks like you are in a family house rather and was well insulated in terms of noise and smells.

The pillows could be higher but it is personal preference.

My favourite type of hotel. Local, small, friendly and comfortable. This is a Lonely Planet recommendation and I can see why. I had a lovely single room with a super comfy bed and a beautiful balcony. Wifi and hot water worked perfectly. There is a mini-fridge and a kettle. The fan helped keep it cool (although AC would be a great addition)! The breakfast choices were varied and plentiful…I didn’t really need lunch. The garden is a peaceful and relaxing space and there are also shared common areas. I appreciated being able to hang out in the garden after check-out as my boat didn’t leave until mid afternoon. I walked from both the bus and train station to the hotel and to everywhere I wanted to visit in Bratislava. Highly recommended.

Air Con would be welcome.

A very nice hotel, located near the historic center of the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast can be personalized from a wide selection of products (the hotel has implemented a "zero waste" policy, which should be appreciated). Gluten-free and dairy-free products are available. The hotel is in a historical building, rooms are fairly spacious, with very comfortable beds.

Unfortunately, there was no information about the lack of an elevator, so we carried our heavy suitcases to the 2nd floor up a winding staircase. The downside is the inability to swing the window out. Unfortunately, leaving the window open at night was not an option, as it blew directly onto the sofa.

For sure....the staff. This hotel is run by a lady and you can see and feel that femmine touch wherever you look around you in this hotel. The staff are the best advertisement for visiting Bratislava. (The tourism authority of Bratislava should award them for this.) You can feel that they are enjoying their job, by observing the way they smile whilst serving the guests. They make you feel so welcome.

I only have 1 constructive suggestion. Not all people like coffee with milk, thus it would be better if black coffee sachets would be available in the rooms . They are probably more economical than the cappuccino satchets that were available in the rooms...so in reality, this suggestion would not incur additional costs for the owners.

We booked a room with a balcony but when we arrived, it was taken because they have only one room with balcony. So as apologise, we got an upgrade to the room opposite the shared balcony and a couple of drinks. The room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly, spoke good English and helped us in everything we needed. The hotel has its own yard/garden with tables and small place to play for children 🙂

It was a little hot in the room but we solved this problem by opening the window.

I loved almost everything about this hotel, especially the garden where I had breakfast, as well as the dedicated reading area on each floor. The staff, always friendly and helpful, sought to make the stay as pleasant as possible. In addition, I really enjoyed the garden, a great spot for relaxing and having breakfast. The hotel is in a location that is within walking distance of the old town centre and the main railway station. I took day trips to both Vienna and Devin Castle on the border with Austria, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I got plenty of travel tips from the staff. Overall, I recommend the Arcus Garden without reservation.

The rooms don't have air conditioning but rather fans, which may bother some travellers. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I had to leave!

It was a really nice stay. The room was very large and the pictures on the booking.com site reflect its features accurately. The members of staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with wide range of options and nice coffee. We came when its was cold outside, but the garden seems like a great place to spend time at when the weather is warm enough. The location of the hotel is very convenient. It is a pleasant walk to the old town, but you also can take a tram and get there in several minutes

A transparent glass door to the bathroom is somewhat strange feature of the room design

Handy location, 10mins walk from Nivy shopping center. Lots of cafes, restaurants in close proximity. Friendly welcome from reception. Comfortable room, I had a balcony, although it was pretty cold during my stay, so I didn't really make use of it. Cosy room, I was able to adjust heating. I liked the complimentary shampoo /body wash. Fridge in room was handy. Cute Easter decorations around property. Price was very reasonable. Garden is lovely feature, although I didn't use it due to cold weather. Kettle and mugs in room.

I was surprised by extra charge if you arrive for check in after 10pm. I flew into Vienna Airport. So my arrival time couldn't have been earlier. I was warned about this shortly after booking, but I still didn't really think they'd charge, as it's unusual. I arrived at 10.10pm, I was charged 5 euros. If I was later, I'd have been charged more. Rooms are dated - toilet and shower have seperate entrances, but the building has a charm.

It was a lovely surprise to find this beautiful little hotel. The level of care on every point: staff, decoration, comfort, beauty, breakfast - everything was spot on, even the plants look very happy! I was lucky enough to have room 7B with a beautiful garden view. Bring a sleeping mask, as it gets light early.

Nothing about my visit was bad, but coming from a country where water is in short supply, I felt uncomfortable to let the hot water run for 3-5 minutes before it started getting hot (as per the note in the shower). In the end I just gave up and took a short cold shower. It was 30 degrees outside, so it was my choice! But still, a quicker hot water system would benefit the ecosystem, I think.
