The staff were extremely friendly, and the hotel room smelt good and clean. The hot pools were awesome and enjoyable, and the surroundings had such great views. The breakfast buffet was amazing, and there was a great variety of everything one could think of. We went quadbiking and the experience on-site with Cape Town SA Forest Adventures, was easy to book for and was a lovely adventurous touch to our breakaway.

There is no separate shower in the hotel room as it is part of the bath - but there is a shower curtain, and we made it work for us. The hot pools are also quite far to walk to. To note: We were only informed when we checked in that when one books on booking.com, there is a 1% fee per day that is payable.

Loved the buffet breakfast, top glass. Restaurants next to the casino is very good . Hot mineral spring pools are very nice Ashley at the hotel reception was fantastic, she saved our trip.

Rooms are dated , bathrooms dated . Room furniture damaged and dated : minibar cupboards water damaged . We asked for a transfer to another room, first room was smelly from an old stained carpet . Ashley from reception saved the day by moving us to a room with a new carpet. Made a huge difference, if not for that we were ready to leave . Television to small for the room Sun deck chairs lower level of hotel super dirty. Balcony's super dirty, hasn’t been cleaned for weeks . Hot water pool building dated , old plastered dressing cubical, really needs a renovation. It looks 50years old .

Seeing that we were there beginning to mid-week it was absolutely great. The quietness and tranquility was amazing. I don’t think you’ll have the same experience over a weekend or during the holidays but it’s definitely a destination for the in between breakaways when you need time to recuperate and be refreshed

I’m not sure if the property is going through changes but I remember from the previous times there were more options of restaurants, bar and room service but it appears that most of these have stopped. As I said I’m not sure if it’s changing but it would be nice to reinstate these again.

The hot springs are by far the best part of the experience. You really get to enjoy the aspects of nature. The premises are naturally beautiful, rich in history and lots of places to explore. As a hotel guest you get to experience the springs much longer than day visitors. There is a good variety of different pools and spa facilities like steam room and sauna. The massages we booked at the spa were very relaxing. The room suited our needs mostly. Great mini fridge and very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very tasty, lots of breakfast options and great coffee. Dinner at the Black Sheep was delicious and great service from our waitress. She anticipated what we needed without us having to ask.

The general decor of the hotel feels outdated. The WiFi was very slow. The air con in our room was broken and unpleasant because we had a very warm evening. The parking is very far from the hotel.

The breakfast was a big disappointment, Was excited to see the buffet and as this was my son's first hotel experience, I had told him abt the Continental Buffet expectation. As a healthy sportsman type 14 yo teenager with a massive appetite, I coached him on etiquette. He selected his breakfast on his own, totally as per coaching and expectation and ate 2 mouthfuls. And stopped. Said everything tasted funny. Must admit, everything tasted like it came out the freezer. I had a croissant and cheese and some deli meat, The deli meat was like rubber, seemed not properly defrosted? It was ok. I ate, purely because I was hungry. My ravenous 14 yo teenager did not eat, at a buffet breakfast. That is a big red flag.

The restaurant (singular) available was way overpriced and the food all tasted like it came out a box or freezer. The cocktails, from the bar came out of a tin. My margarita was served in a wine glass. No salt, not chilled. No knowledge or experience with the staff. The food was bleh, it was definitely a cook, warming food up. No chef or restaurant experience, Da Vincis felt like a hospital cafeteria. Couldn't wait to get back to our hotel room. On the plus, my son and I had a lovely time. The room was super comfortable and he loved the "hotel experience" with the credit card door key. Couldn't figure out the tv remote but was asleep anyway due to the glorious hot pool experience. The night was a wonderful getaway for us and that is what matters most,

Breakfast was good except we would have preferred some soft 🥓 bacon. The natural hot springs were amazing!! The staff were very friendly, helpful polite.

The parking was a bit of an issue. There were no 2 prong power plugs in rooms! The bacon at breakfast could have had an option of some soft 🥓 bacon. We should have been told to bring our blue, pool towels with when we check out, when we arrived because we had to go back to our room to collect them upon check out.

Staff at the hotel are extremely accommodating. Buffet breakfast is top notch. I also loved that they have a towel service - deposit of R200 per towel, but you can change your wet towel for a dry one as many times as you need to. Deposit refunded at check out.

General upkeep and maintenance needs attention, but we did notice that this is happening. There was a dripping sound outside our room on the first night. But contractors were on site the next day to resolve the issue. There is also a trolley stationed as you go upstairs to the rooms and this would have dirty plates on it for lengthy periods during the day.

The pools and the grounds are amazing. There was some littering but they cleaned it up after I complained. The room are outdated but warm and comfortable.

The steam room was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned ever. Same with the ladies changing rooms. The shower in the bedroom is not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. The food is boring and they have the same menu for the 15 years that I've been going. Why don't they cater to halal guests? Are they in a bubble or do they choose to disregard a large segment of their patrons? It's inexplicable. Not one restaurant caters to a halal guest, not Black sheep nor Da Vincis. Where are they supposed to eat? The establishment has no self catering units either.

The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great... Good variety. I was surprised to find a Russel Hobs hairdryer in hotel room. This was much better than the usual travel hairdryer that you find in other hotels. The hot springs was fantastic....very much what I needed to ease and relax my muscles. I was impressed with the hotel as they upgraded me to a better room as it was my 10 year wedding anniversary. 10 out 10 for Caledon Spa. Thank you very much.... Even my husband loved it.

I loved everything excepting the long walk to my room.

The staff were exceptional, the baths and the whole area at the spa were clean. The restaurant had great food, casino were a blast. The hotel and grounds were well looked after and did give us a holiday restfull experience. Our whole experience was awesome. The museum is a must to visit.

At breakfast, when the food bin eg. Bacon is empty, it takes time to get it full. Suggestion: Someone should constantly check all bins and refill.
