I really enjoyed my stay. The host were really friendly and accommodating. The room is big and equipped with everything I needed and more. Everything felt so authentic and warm. The beds are really comfy and even had electric blankets. It well situated, away from the "noise" in the main road, but still central. Although I never knew the street could be so busy. I enjoyed the breakfast as well. For what I paid, it definitely exceeded my expectations.

If I have to be critical, I think the breakfast could do with some finishing touches. It was tasty for sure, but it was lacking that something extra. Maybe dropping the scoop of mushrooms for another piece of toast or the piece of boerewors for another piece of bacon. Also the shower head isn't the greatest, but I do understand there are water shortages.

lovely place, runs by a couple, green open spacious and country feel, has a deck over looking the pool, used for dining and chilling area, an outdoor pizza oven, and indoor lounge/ restaurant area. rooms are large ample beds, nice large bathroom area with good shower. a/c and ceiling fans. car park is inside the property. lovely staff very helpful and happy. hosts are friendly and easy to communicate , all was great 👍

The owners and staff of this B&B are incredibly nice. Moreover the rooms and the garden are beautiful. The showers work well and the beds are extremely comfortable. They even thought about electric heat pads for the cold days but also have airconditioning for the hot days! The breakfast is also nice and a good variety of everything. It is amazing to watch the stars at night in the garden and the village the accomodation is located in overall feels very safe. One of the rooms has a lovely balcony and last but not least they have the sweetest dog walking around. I have been here two times now and would recommend it to everyone!

The only recommendation we have is to offer a vegetarian option for the breakfast.

The room was very clean spacious and comfortable it was one of the Karoo Life cottages. Superb hosts and fabulous boxer dog called Liffey. We ate at the guest house in the evening on the stoep and the food was excellent. Lovely friendly atmosphere with other guests. Excellent breakfast - the largest fruit salad yogurt and museli I’ve ever encountered! My husband’s full English was also excellent.

Perfectly located for visiting the port wine producers of Calitzdorp, and with friendly and welcoming staff (and the lovely dog, Liefie). Our room (Zebra) was spacious and very quiet. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant on site, which was tasty and very reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning was also very enjoyable.

We found our mattress a little firm for our taste, but it's just personal preference so not really a criticism.

The warm reception, cleanliness, good food.

There was no comfortable chair or couch in the room to relax in. No lamps for loadshedding and no place to hang up clothing. We were given a Family Room instead of the King Size Room originally booked which wasn't serious but lacked some of the above-mentioned items which were pictured in the room booked and confirmed on the website.

Room was a good size. The appliances were of a high standard. The bed was very comfortable. The property was secure with off street parking. It was great that they had back up power for load shedding

The room could have a coffee plunger. The plumbing needs some maintenance : shower head, tap outlets etc

Madeleine and her staff were very friendly. We stayed in room 2 and it was very clean and comfortable. There is attention to detail such as luggage benches. shelves and hangers. Very good breakfast included.

Backyard requires attention but enough private parking is available.

Karoo Life B&B is central and easy to find with a genuine welcome from the owner. The B&B is old but so charming in wood and adorned with interesting pictures and items throughout. The breakfast was a bonus with a delicious fruit bowl to begin and a great English breakfast to follow.

It's easy to criticise an old establishment, but everything worked well and the exterior was being refurbished. So, I expect that improvements will be inevitable, hopefully without detracting from the old-world charm which characterises Calitzdorp.

The property has a lot of history and oozes charm! It is centrally located, just down the road from two wine farms. We were made to feel very welcome. And while it was a cold night, the electric blankets on the beds helped keep us warm. All in all, a lovely stay in Calitzdorp.

There is nothing that disappointed us.
