The location was serene. Far enough to experience peace and nature of Klein Karoo. We enjoyed watching animals on the farm. It was close enough to the nearest town if shopping was needed. We enjoyed the space of the farm and cycled around a lot. The Chalet 1 was perfect for family of 5. Spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had everything that was needed for self catering... well except of a big enough frying pan and pot. There is no WiFi and it was actually to our advantage and helped to soak in nature, reading and playing games.

It would have been nice to have a big frying pan and a pot in the kitchen equipment for those who opted for self-catering.

Absolutely stunning location. Chalet was huge, perfectly set up and away from the other chalets so we felt like we on our own. Food in the restaurant was great and the views from the pool were amazing. They also catered individually for our toddler. When we arrived back one day, we were amazed to find the giraffe stood right near our chalet. We saw lots of eland, ostrich and the giraffe near the watering hole too. Staff were welcoming and great. We spent 2 weeks in South africa and it was our favourite place we stayed.

The only thing that was disappointing was the shower. It was impossible to find a medium temperature - it seemed to have two settings - scalding hot or freezing cold. Not a pleasant experience!

The food was well prepared and thought out. We had the luxury of having it brought to us in our room which unfortunately meant we had to reheat it as it was a little cold on arrival - the fault of the evening chill not the chef or staff. A cloche would be beneficial for future room service in the cold season. Loved the braai area - perfect for viewing the carpet of stars. Cosy blankets and bedding.

Checkin was a stumbling block that - after a long day on the road - took some righting. Charlene and Victor, however, went out of their way to rectify this and get us back on track for a good stay. For a place surrounded by such incredibly natural beauty, I also found the plastic flowers in the chalet unnecessary and not in fitting with the setting. A welcome brochure or guest info booklet in the room would also have been nice for us to learn more about the place and what was on offer at our leisure as we began to land after the day of driving. The shower in our chalet, although amazing once under it, is also not built for taller people.

The breakfast was very good and value for money. The situation was perfect, the rooms were clean and comfortable The host was very friendly We thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife and flora. It met our expectations.

The coffee at breakfast got cold quickly. With only a couple of guests, it could have been prepared to order. The TV did not work the first night but was fixed as soon as it was reported. The braai area at our unit could be improved. All fairly minor issues that didn't detract from a great weekend.

Beautiful place to stay. We stayed for two nights away from Oudtshoorn. Lovely to see some wild animals such as Common Elands, springboks, ostriches and one giraffe. I hope that they should get another giraffe to keep the lone giraffe company. The staffs were friendly and helpful.

Hard bed but not that bad for just one or two nights. Restaurant should have the menu because my cousins from Belgium were trying to understand what the staff said about the list of meal for dinner, even for me I am deaf. I need the menu. Weak wifi in the restaurant only. No wifi in the rooms.

The accommodation is very nicely furnished and very clean. You have everything you need. The only advantage in the heat would be a small fridge in the room. The view from the houses is unique and we liked it very much. One thing to bear in mind is that the thatched roofs of the Mountain View houses mean that there are always quite a lot of insects in the accommodation. However, the accommodation has placed a spray against mosquitoes and insects in each room that you can use. This took some getting used to for us and would probably not be the case in the larger houses with "real" roofs. But it's not the accommodation's fault and it's just the environment. Natascha, the hotel manager, was more than accommodating. We wanted to spend a day at the pool, which normally has no sun loungers. She brought us extra loungers and fresh towels and was there for us all day. The food also tasted very, very good. Natascha's service is truly unique and we can only recommend this accommodation to anyone.

The lodge was close to the location of the Meerkat Tours (which was a destination our kids wanted to go to desperately) and not far from Oudtshoorn. There is one Giraffe and some types of bucks and antilopes around. The food in the restaurant was very good., though a little expensive and small portions.

There was no fridge in the rooms. The prize for the stay as a family with two rooms was a little bit on the expensive side. The restaurant was a little bit too stylish and thus lacked a homely atmosphere. Especially the music in the restaurant was too slow (maybe better if less loud). In general everything was fine, but a little touch is missing for perfect atmosphere and game lodge feeling.

Very neat rooms, with a great view of the veld and animals out of the unit. The Lodge is just the right distance out of Oudtshoorn to not feel too close to a town, but close enough if you need something in a pinch. Waldo was very easy to communicate with, and even though we checked in rather late, after 19:00, was still around to assist us. We awoke with a variety of animals within view just outside the room the following morning.

Overall very little was lacking, although a mini fridge in the room would be nice to keep some things cold for long journeys ahead. The Spitskop restaurant on site has great food, and the included breakfast was filling and flavourful, although some of the items seemed a little pricey at dinner.

We loved the peace and tranquility and if it wasnt for work, we would have stayed longer but we will be back. Even though we did not book for breakfast they were kind enough to make us breakfast and it was lovely. I am looking forward to see how the restaurant will develop.

I had a bit of trouble to get the shower temperature right, but my husband did not. Just warn people that the hot water is scalding. I suggest that you also be clear on what is available and what is not in the self-catering units i.e. no plunger/filter coffee etc. I usually travel with my own, but the previous night we stayed in a unit that had all of that, and I assumed it would be in this one too. Luckily the restaurant had filter coffee.

Received a warm welcome from Natasha and Vector and made us welcome immediately. Thank you to both of you. The staff were exceptional, Vector was a great host and always checked in if we needed anything. The kitchen staff, thank you for the awesome dinner and breakfast served ,food, was well presented and delicious. Very peaceful and relaxing stay , loved the roaming buck, even a Giraffe 🦒 welcomed us when we arrived at our Chalet.

There is not really anything we did not like. The place is well positioned and well maintained.
