The location is central to capetown, but full of movement, lots of people. Best to ask for help from the hotel (maneeb was the best porter, extremely helpful and friendly and caring). The room was comfortable, larger and modern. Couldn't hear any hotel neighbors, but heard plenty of people outside. Best to sleep with earplugs. The windows were a little rattley so we wedged a piece of paper in between so they wouldn't wake us up. Otherwise, a great option in the middle of town!
There was no top sheet which made it more uncomfortable. The twin comforter was a little too small.

The location was very central to all the want to go tourist locations, a short walk from Longstreet and Bree Street, felt very comfortable during the day and when it came to night time staff would walk us to where we wanted to be, there is a bank around the corner and a bank, again the staff would escort us there and back is the evening and night. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bar up stairs was perfect to have a night cap in. Made Cape Town very approachable and enjoyable.
The breakfast was simple but some the job, a few minutes walk on Bree Street is a nice cafe called Rosetta and is ideal for a late brunch is you decide to skip.

Excellent central location. Room was spacious and well appointed. Staff were kind and helpful throughout the duration of my stay. I would recommend this hotel to those requiring a central base in Cape Town from which all major sites can be easily reached.
Due to its central location (St Georges Mall), it can get a bit noisy during the day. Add to that, the building itself is a historic building (hence the name - Old Bank Hotel) meaning the windows could have done a better job insulating such street noise. One other point to consider: mineral water is chargeable, which is rather misaligned with hotels in this price category. Whilst Cape Town tap water is clean and safe to drink, many tourists would still expect complimentary mineral water.

OLD BANK HOTELI do a lot of traveling and for the most part have had good luck with hotels, but Old Bank Hotel in Capetown really stands out above the rest. The rooms are clean and spacious (I love the wood floors), with a mini fridge and coffee maker. The breakfast provides a lot of options, and some nutritious room service entrees when you're too exhausted at the end of a day of exploring to head back out. The location is central, beside Greenmarket Square, within walking distance to a lot of popular spots (15 minutes or less to places like Bo Kaap, Company Gardens, District Six) or a short and affordable cab or Uber ride to other locations. But it was the staff, from the guys who greet you downstairs, to the front desk and dining and room service staff, that truly made the stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, answered my many questions, and gave me some great tour guide recommendations that ended up being some highlights of my trip. As a solo traveler I want to add that I felt completely safe the entire time. Lastly, I often travel as a standby passenger, and on my first attempt of the departure flight I was unable to get a seat on the plane. I was grateful to know that Old Bank had availability for me to return one more night, it truly made a somewhat stressful travel setback a lot easier. Hands down I recommend anyone traveling to Cape Town to book your stay at the Old Bank Hotel, and if I ever get to return that's where I'll stay again. Thanks to everyone for such a great experience!
No complaints.

Amazing hospitality, I have never had such an experience from the moment I entered on day 1 to till I left 10 days later. the service, attention and overall friendliness of the staff were unparalleled. I would especially like to highlight the security team. When I needed travel basics, they took me to the nearest shop, when I needed to go somewhere I was walked to my Uber and even when I came back to the hotel after a night out (of drinking) they even escorted me to find food very late night, I can't say enough about their attention to detail and overall care for your wellbeing, amazing!

Old banks is situated in the heart of Cape Town. So if you want to get a real South African experience, this is the place to be. The location vibrant, authentic and buzzing with a market stuffed with local art. The hotel is surrounded with small intimate restaurants, with local buskers keeping you entertained whiles shopping for gifts for family and friends. We really enjoined our stay with the most friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was basic, but the fruit were freshly cut and the scones and croissants came fresh out of the oven. Overall a very good experience, and will highly recommend this property to family and friends.
The parking arrangement was a bit frustrating, as your car is parked away from the property and needs to be parked and delivered back by the hotel staff. I was concerned for safety of our car and also what he insurance consequences will be if the car gets inviolved in an accident?

I had a wonderful stay at Old Bank. I’ve traveled the world for the past 3 years and the staff were the kindest I’ve ever encountered at a hotel - from the doorman, to security, to reception, to the waitresses at the restaurant (don’t forget to tip them). The doorman walked me to my Uber each day which made me feel safe. In addition to hotel security they also have the city center security so even though you’re in the center it’s still safe for travelers. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings. The food at the restaurant was really good too. Overall I highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Cape Town.

A lovely stylish hotel in a great central location, with ever friendly staff who were always there to help. I've noted other comments re the location in terms of noise and safety, but I didn't find it overly noisy and had a relaxing sleep. Safety is a consideration in Cape Town generally, but I didn't have issue during the day in the locality of the hotel and the staff will always advise. Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet which kept me fuelled all day. I'll certainly be happy to stay again.

The hotel is located in the heart of vibrant Cape Town CBD near most restaurants and shops. You get to experience the sights sounds and wonderful people of South Africa. I was able to move around very easily by walking or taking Uber when it was late at night. I felt safe as a female solo traveller and the facilities at the hotel exceeded my expectations. Special thanks to Sebastian who made me feel at home safe and secure throughout my stay. Breakfast was delicious too.
