The location of the hotel is superior and allows going out all day and night without safety concerns. The bars nearby are very nice and therefore the hotel was best choice. The staff is super helpful and even when small hick-ups occured everybody tried to resolve immediately. Best just speaking up friendly asking resolution.

The check-in after a flight of 11 hours took simply to much time for a tired traveller. I understand staff asked to go through a specific procedure but the attempt to tell me details like breakfast times 1am morning is simply too much. A fast track check in would be appreciated.

The Breakfast was great. We liked the buffet and the many options. We also appreciated that items cooked by the chefs were ordered and collected by the waiters, as this prevents congestion. The place is clean and the colour theme at the rooms are as serene as the place.

The dinner was just a disappointment, that the second night we opted to eat out at one of the nearby restaurants. The aircon in the room was a problem. On the first night the maintenance person came to fits it, after struggling for some time. H also exclaimed upon coming inside that it was freezing inside the room, the aircon was set at 19 and could not be adjusted upwards to warm temperature. In the morning we could not adjust it to lower temperatures.

Bongani was very friendly & helpful , n we were surprised by an upgrade to a junior suite which was Marvelous after sitting in traffic for 3 hrs.. Bongani assissted us speedily, as well as gave us a late check out, which suited us perfectly. Location is Excellent Will most definitely be back.... Even porters were extra friendly & helpful

The carpet in room didn't seem like it had been cleaned or vacuumed. We requested an extra gown n slippers, as there was only 1 in the closet It never came.... Also, wen they turned down our room for the eve, of the 2 bedside lindt chocs , one was just an empty wrapper...shocking

The variety of what to have. The ambience of the breakfast eating area. The view from the area. The cleanliness, the promptness of the staff to assist, clean and clear what you have used. The value for money for this wholesome and complete breakfast.

There was a part of check in I did not like; being allocated a twin-bed room, when I had booked for a King Bed. The inconvenience of going back to reception to correct this, and back to the room to get my possessions to take to the correct room. It was only because the porter that assisted us was a great people's person, who is known, and knows most of his previous guest, judging by how people greeted him, and his response. He was not mechanical when helping us, but spoke to us in a way to make it less onerous.

The breakfast buffet was amazing. Although my family don't eat bacon, there was a table for pork. Variety of fruit (tastier and more natural than the once we got used to in Los Angels :) The coffee is amazing, the macchiato was great. Great, Great, Great. Employees were amazing - Sisipjo, Aggle, Promise, Cynthia Khanyi, Godfred, Mehluli, Busisiwo & David.

All was great in my opinion! Best location when compared with other location we saw.

We loved everything about Marriott. The place is awesome, very well secured, you feel 100% safe which was important for us. The hotel itself is very beautiful, and the welcome is super warm. The room was big and beautiful. The swimming pool area is cosy, perfect for warm afternoon. They organized a Soweto tour for us that was mind blowing. All in all, it is the perfect place to stay if you want to feel at peace during your stay in Johannesburg.

The location within the Melrose Arch precinct is the best in Gauteng. The back up generator is appreciated when the country’s power supplier fails to deliver electricity. The rooms were very spacious and clean

I would recommend the towels be replaced as the ones in my room were threadbare. Everything else was excellent, thank you

This is a lovely new hotel completed in March 2020 so still basically brand new in 2022. The staff is delightful and friendly (as most staff is in SA better hotels). The beds are super comfortable. The bar and restaurant is excellent and well-priced and Archer is a fun spot too. Best part is it sits on the edge of the Melrose Arch shopping and dining district so there are a ton of shops and some cafes to walk to. Also check out the Protea Fire and Ice across the street for food. About a R250 ($20) Uber ride to the airport. Uber was easy and comfortable and my drivers were excellent.

Nitpicking, but my shower ran out onto the bathroom floor.

We stayed at this property twice during our trip. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very safe and we appreciated being able to safe,y walk around the area. There are many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The room was very comfortable. We will stay here again on our next visit to Johannesburg

I like everything about my stay at this hotel. Everything. Wish i could carry it along with me when ever i travel. Food, cleanness, bed comfort, staff. why do nt they just make it like this everywhere.

I wanted my eggs not so well done but got them well done. But still enjoyed it.
