Great breakfast, generous buffet! Clean rooms, so many light options (passage, room, lit mirror, side lamp!) Good view Rooftop pool (although not seen where pool closing times were advised, we missed it!) I was told we got a free upgrade although was by fire exit so a bit noisy as this was used for staff & laundry lift.

Late arrival was met with a surly reception gentleman (called Keith I think!) who scowled and just flippantly told us we don’t have porters at this time, ask security to help you! I replied well sir I believe that would be up to you to ask him? I can’t do that. Luckily at that time a very happy security guard walked up and very kindly helped us. Wasn’t a good first impression for a five star hotel to be met with a rude and condescending staff member!

1 - Aircon not working despite asking for help 2 - requested room with bathtub, accepted beforehand but on site they said not available despite being there for 5 days

Would be great if there were Halaal food options for Muslim travellers on the breakfast buffet and restaurant menu please, there were quite a number of Muslim guests at the hotel Please consider the following: 1. install a pool water heater to regulate the water temp, it was extremely cold 2. maybe consider a roof that opens and closes on rainy days, it would be fantastic to use the pool when it rains you can close the roof and still make full use of the pool :) Please ask maintenance to fix the window in room 230, it does not close as well as the shower railing and handle

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, close to all Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton City Mall.

Housekeeping is done during check-in time which meant that we waited a long time and was only allocated our room at 4pm.

The breakfast was beyond expectations. It was refreshing to have a huge selection of vegetarian options. I particularly liked that the pork was away from the rest of the other food. Every station from the coffee station , to the yoghurt station was neat and clean. It was very appealing to fetch food and enjoy the ambience. Well done. Keep up th excellent work.

Staff could have been quieter. There is no need to talk loudly or shout across the room. I am nit picking here. It wasn't really an issue. The house keeper who came to make up the room in the morning asked for help to dress the bed and i wondered if this was a normality. I didn't mind. A pleasant woman by the name of Bongiwe.

I recently stayed at Southern Sun for a conference in Sandton, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The hotel's location was ideal, just a short walk from the conference venue. This made it incredibly convenient to get to and from my events without any hassle. The breakfast was a delightful way to start each day. Breakfast was outstanding - so many options to choose from! Location is excellent and the shuttle bus service helps with getting around. Room was beautiful, bed was ultra comfortable! TV nice. Bathroom nice! Appreciated it was quiet so we were able to sleep well.

When calling to request a wake-up call, no one answered either night we were there. We notified the front desk who said they'd look into it and they'd make the wake-up call....wake-up call never happened. In our room, the little coffee condiment holder had icky crumbs and stuff in the bottom of it. I turned it so the maid could see it but it wasn't cleaned - just turned back around. Carpets weren't cleaned very well around the perimeter of the room.

The breakfast was great 👍 . We just had to wait a bit for a table to be seated. The preparation of the omelets was not good at all, very bland. The chef filled the omelets with onion and no cheese.At the coffee bar we and other guests were greeted with Yes instead of a good morning or good day which sounds a bit more courteous.

On checking out I was not told that I need to validate my parking ticket. We had a few bags and could have done with porter services instead of back and forth to the car. The card for entry to the room did initially not work so we had to go back to reception to have that rectified.
