Large, older residence that has been turned into a inn right on the beach. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast staff was very friendly providing a wonderful breakfast (Banana Surprise French Toast is a real treat!). We stayed off season so the restaurant that is part of the hotel was closed for the season. Plettenberg has many restaurant choices just a short drive away. Secure parking is within a walled courtyard

The property was wonderfully situated right on the beach with fabulous views from the rooms. I loved the small private terrace and also the restaurant with river views. the rooms were large and clean and nicely decorated.

There was nothing I didn’t like

nice sized room - and lovely windows and french door leading out onto balcony - I was in room 9. hotel is on the beach although it is about a 3 minute walk to the actual ocean. Not much of an actual seaview (although you can certainly see the sea) from the rooms because of the sand dunes close to the hotel. Lovely lagoon view though from the rooms facing Lookout Beach. Serving staff in the restaurant was very nice. The location is super convenient and close to everything in Plett.

They should definitely upgrade their outdoor furniture to make their outdoor facilities much more attractive and more user friendly. LOUNGERS for the lagoon facing downstairs rooms and a proper fixed umbrella would be fabulous! Despite the shortcomings I still think Milkwood Manor is probably the best value in Plett you can get so I am booked again fro December 2024!

The milk wood Manor was amazing, it blew us away! Such a great location with amazing views. The rooms were lovely and there felt like there was a really comfortable and welcoming vibe to it. The restaurant was closed for dinner but the breakfast was lovely and looking out at the beach was the perfect setting. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond, including special mention to the chap who looks after the cars as he even cleaned our car .

Nothing, absolutely exceptional.

Secured parking lot, good breakfast with several options, pretty beach views, large room, heated floors in bathroom, great water pressure in showers, very helpful staff, laundry service was exceptional, the staff even helped us find an emergency room when needed

We had ants in the room. They were treated and many were dying but many live ones kept coming in. There was only one restaurant walking distance but it also made it more quiet being away from the town center.

Breakfast was the best we have had on our trip….hot food and beautiful fruit served at the table so not sitting around going stale somewhere in the restaurant! Location is the best! Beautiful beach to walk or run. Staff at MWM were absolutely fantastic….nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile and not a scowl. The restaurant at MWM (Lemon Grass) was great for atmosphere, views and delicious food.

We stayed in an older room this time as we booked very late and it appeared a little tired😏 The bathroom was very clean but old and needs a bit of modernising and power shower. No pool.

The most amazing location, on the beach!! Breakfast excellent with stunning views from the deck . Free use of umbrella, beach bag and swimming towels when going to the beach makes it so convenient. You just hand everything back when you done. Don’t have to drive and battle with parking when going to the beach, you literally walk out the hotel onto the beach.

The windows in the room don’t open up properly so found the room to be very warm and stuffy. Has a good air conditioner but I prefer the fresh sea air. That is the only thing I would change.

The location is stunning, and having a secure car park was really appreciated. The thing though that stuck out to me more than anything was how caring, professional and friendly all the staff were. I would come down in the morning and be greeted with a warm smile, served amazing food and I would find my car had been washed each day. one day I accidentally locked myself out of may car. the reception team immediately called a locksmith who was on site and gained access tot he car within 30 mins. This lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders, so thank you. If I am am ever in Plettenberg in the future, I would not consider staying anywhere else.

the stairs are very dangerous, as the top step riser is a lot shorter than the rest of the stairs. Back in Europe this would not be allowed due to health and safety. My wife fell up the stair and I am sure she is not the first, another guest commented on it as well. the stairs handrail moves as well. which again is also unsafe. At the very least is would yellow trip hazard tape on the step and install another handrail onto the wall.

The views of the ocean from our room are worth it to pay a bit extra. Very relaxed informal and cozy hotel. I walked bare feet most of the time. Having our car washed every day. The friendly staff.

The carpets need replacing ,to match everything else. A sweep and a dust by the deck ,lovely places to sit if it wasn't dusty. Maybe a buffet for breakfast, the staff were frazzled trying to keep up.

The problem lies within the dual management: 1 for the hotel, 1 for the restaurant. Which means that you pay seperately for the restaurant and need to bring your wallet for every drink you order there. Another problem is the German owner on the restaurant side, who has not a single hospitality bone in his body and has the charm of a constipated lizard. If he refrained from showing himself every day, the place is absolutely stunning and worth a stay.
