Moxy Seoul Myeongdong

This is my second stay in this hotel. Among many others I've stayed in Seoul, this is the only one I would be happy to be back. The staff is kind and friendly. Overall, all rooms are modern and clean. I really love the bathrooms as they provide you with all you need, and the water temperature and head are great. They have a smart toilet, which is always appreciated in November :) The only downside is you cannot open windows for air circulation. The room is a bit small but bigger than other hotels in the same area for the same price. The Wi-Fi is excellent. I worked in the evening and had many calls with video, and the connection was perfect. The hotel's location is ideal for those who want to reach all popular and cultural places by foot. The area is full of cafes, restaurants, street food, and shops. However, the number of people around the hood may be overwhelming.

Some walls can be repainted. There is little room to put your stuff away, and because of that, the room is always a mess.

The service was impeccable. From Jina and sending me a picture of the entrance to Lia sending me a map how to get to the hotel (because Google Street View of Korea is outdated) to Damon giving me an extended 2 hour late check out (later extended even further to three hours though I forgot the female front desk attendants name), my family could not be happier with the hotel! Lobby was so cool with video games and pseudo fireplace, convenience store in the building, best forex changer 30 seconds away and Myeongdong shopping 10 seconds away! I mean, it even has a rappelling system built into the room for emergencies! We've been to Korea before but this was the best time we've had (10 days)!

It's a bit cramped for Westerners but by Asian hotel standards (Japan, Hongkong) it's the norm. If you have two XL luggages, a stroller and two carry on trolleys then good luck. But one large luggage and 1-2 small trolleys is very manageable. The fridge is small but very doable if you have Tetris skills since it's fashioned in a way that it's more tall than deep (see picture). Very minor things.

Really nice place to stay in Seoul. Close to the city center and the best Korean bbq. The room was very small, but cozy. The bathroom was gorgeous, with a large shower and toilet with heated seats. It was a smart room, so you could ask with your voice to turn on the lights, music, TV, it was fun.

On the chairs that were hanging on the wall we found someone else's hair, it was unpleasant. There is no closet for clothes, only hooks.

We love that the room has 2queen beds and beds were comfortable. Best location. Friendly staff. Free laundry.

The walking space in the room is too small. And very few breakfast choices.

Location is great. Room is big enough to put two suitcases. Everything is cozy.

The bathroom doesn’t have a little space to put the things, like facial cleaner, when you take shower. If you take metro to the hotel, be careful with the stairs, it is very difficult to carry the luggage up and down.

Moxy has a complimentary coffee machine near the front desk, we really love how we can grab it every morning before starting our day. Breakfast options was also nice and the staff are always happy to help with our needs. The front desk and bar people are really nice and would attend to your needs/questions immediately. The housekeeping team also gives little notes and chocolate treats every time they clean the rooms. Since we arrived earlier than the check-in time, we dropped our bags in the Concierge and requested for them to call me once a room was available - not even 2 hours later they called and said our room was ready. Really appreciate this gesture!

The staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The location is excellent. Right at the very edge of the hustle and bustle of Myeongdong, so you can just step out and enjoy the shops, restaurants, nightlife and streetfood. But there is absolutely no noise from the streets so you get a good night's rest. We were lucky enough to have a room with a view of Namsan Tower. It was always nice to wake up to that. I especially liked the free laundry - as we were travelling and packed as minimally as possible, this was really helpful. We didn't book breakfast at all but you can help yourself to a free coffee vending machine at reception. It rains a lot in Seoul and it was nice that we can borrow an umbrella from the concierge. This is our second trip to Korea and the second time to stay in Myeongdong, but this is my absolute favourite place to stay. Book it. You won't regret it.

Location was central to everything, right next to the night markets and shopping strip which was very convenient. Theres a bar downstairs which also served food and a vending machine with noodles and frozen meals. Decor was modern and stylish. We received a welcome drinks token for the bar on arrival. We stayed in 3 hotels during our stay in South Korea and this was our favourite one.

The rooms were a little small so not much walking or luggage space but it was well thought out with all the hooks lining the wall so we were able to make the most of it.

The location was great, right smack in the middle of Myeongdong. The hotel is new and rooms are very fresh. The overall design was very well thought of. While the room was compact, it had all the necessities carefully designed to be unobstrusive. I loved that they had a free laundry room too. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. We booked several tours separately and pick up points were conveniently just a few meters away from the hotel.

Entrance to the hotel may be a bit confusing at first. We came in by train so walked towards the hotel from the station. We had to go one floor down via escalator, then elevator up to the 4th floor for check in, then a transfer elevator to your floor.
