My room and bathroom were very clean. Nice Italian shower with pressure and hot water. The bed was very comfortable, and it had lots of pillows. I was able to check in at 2pm, this was much appreciated. The temperature of the room at night was spot on.

The general feel of the hotel, with an emphasis on design that does not always create a warm and joyful atmosphere. Noise coming from upstairs water pipes at night. My room was on the 1st floor with no view at all.

The hotel is full of character and like an oasis of calm in a lovely area. it is close to the attractions, also close to fabulous restaurants like Le Romane & a convenient supermarket on the corner. Breakfast was really nice with a good selection of hot & cold food & pastries, nice breads, good coffee. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, from reception, to breakfast, to housekeeping. The hotel was clean & the beds very comfortable, especially the pillows. Strongly recommend this hotel.

The family room could do with a few mirrors in other rooms besides the bathroom. The space is smaller than expected, but still manageable.

the salty box was opened while I am out side the room and almost 300 EUR (for sure) was taken. when I informed the hotel receptionist they told me (The Hotel will only accept responsibility for objects and values deposited in the Hotel safe, with receipt.)

I really loved the location of the property. It was easy to walk and get all the main sites. The rooms were very cozy in the beds were very comfortable. I like the way they separated the beds into different areas to give more privacy . The staff kept my group of rooms close together and down on the main floor where we were closest to the pool I can find each other easily. anytime we needed something from the front desk. They were quick to respond and very friendly. my family enjoyed the breakfast. it was extremely clean, and the maid service took great care of our rooms! they have a cute little tiny bar out by the pool when you can hang out and relax.

I wish the breakfast was open past 1030 am. There really wasn’t much I didn’t like about this property.

Hotel Balmes is my favorite hotel in Barcelona. I have stayed here a few times already. The staff are always so pleasant, smiling, greeting and accommodating. They are always ready to help. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It feels great to enter the hotel and enjoy the great scent it emanates. The little bar/waiting room near the entrance is a good place to relax and wait for the room to become available. They store your luggage in case you want to explore or shop. They have a great breakfast spread in their lovely little dining area. I love the location because it is so centrally located. A block away on the right is Ramblas de Catalunya where there are great shops and restaurants and further down Passeig de Gracia. When walking left from the hotel, you will hit Enric Granados which is a street of restaurants and bars, and some shops. There are supermarkets, supermercats, cafes, churches, and a laundromat nearby. Hotel Balmes is just a block away from the entrance to the metro on Provence. I have been coming back to this hotel whenever I am in Barcelona because it feels like home.

Location was perfect and the pool is the oasis reviews say it is....and the pool side bar and food is terrific...great version of the club sandwich i must say...even better when you add tomato:) The staff were all outstanding and I loved the free entry to the Egyptian museum...a pleasant surprise.

Travelling with 2 kids always takes away from the extra space we would have otherwise had...however this was still more than adequate for our needs. Beautiful rooms and a privilege to have also had a small courtyard...very appreciated.

no daily refill of coffee capsules. We were honestly very surprised that a 4 star hotel did not provide us with a daily refill of coffee capsules when they provide the room with a Nespresso machine. Have never stayed in a hotel that had a coffeemaker or a kettle in the room and then not do a daily refill with coffee/the no daily refill of bath salt. We stayed in a deluxe room with outside bathtub and we loved coming home late in the afternoon and spend time in it before going out for dinner at night, but again very surprised that they did not do a daily refill. We paid a lot of money for the stay and the lack of these small things took away the experience and feeling of a luxury stay

This is the second time i stayed in Balmes Hotel. I this hotel feels like home to me. The staff specially made it feel so pleasant to stay there. They were very warm and friendly, accommodating and helpful. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. I like the softness of the pillows. The shower is strong and the bathroom has enough counter space to put our toiletries. I liked that the amenities included slippers and bathrobes. Breakfast was good. There was enough variety. The hotel is very centrally located. The metro, bus stop and taxi stand are just a stone’s throw away. A lot of good restaurants and cafes around. Also supermercats and groceries. And there was a Catholic church just a half block away. Ramblas de Catalunya is just a 5 minute walk. And so is La Wash, the laundromat. I will definitely stay there again next time I’m in Barcelona.

My suggestions: like all other hotels, there arenot enough hooks to hang towels, robes, clothes etc in the bathroom. It would be nice if they provided a hot water kettle in the room. It would also be nice if the doors were more sound proof.

The staff were excellent, helpful, efficient. In particular the Ukrainian receptionist whose name I didn’t catch. The location is good, a little bit outside the tourist centre, which is not a bad thing, and still with plenty of stuff going on in the surrounding area and good nearby restaurants as well. The room was spotlessly clean.

I had a single room, which was very small, I booked late so it turned out to be quite expensive for what it was, my fault though. It was also an interior room on a lower floor so it had very little natural light. The breakfast selection could have been a bit more imaginative and maybe an extra staff member at busy times.

Loved the hotel, Everyone was very friendly. It was the perfect location. We were in the middle of Barcelona and we could walk everything. Even if they did not had a parking spot for us, we could park in front of the street at another parking.

Even when they send me a message that they could not promise anything i asked for a large bed way before our arrival date and when we arrived i could see they changed the room number with tippex on the card. So they definitely changed the room and we got 2 separate unstable beds instead, They were very comfortable, that i must say. but I was kind of disappointing about that. Overall everyone was very friendly and we had a great time.
