THE BUILDING: The building is very nice. The lobby, reception, and breakfast area are elegant. There is some sort of wellness area upstairs, which I didn’t look into, but just outside there is a sundeck. There’s not much of a view from it, but it’s a nice area to sit outside for a while. LOCATION: It’s NOT in the historic center, which is what we were looking for. The hotel is in a peaceful, although active area away from drunk tourists and loud nightlife. Everything you want is within walking distance, including a few subway entrances (about a 5-minute walk). When you do want to go sightseeing, everything is an easy subway ride away. RECEPTION: Reception was easy and efficient. The lobby area has refreshments, newspapers, and seating areas for guests to enjoy. AIR CONDITIONING: The A/C worked great! THE ROOM: We had room 701 on this visit, which was very nice. We appreciated that there was in-room coffee and tea (although the coffee was instant). NOISE: The room was completely quiet — we could not hear traffic from the street or guests in other rooms. BREAKFAST: We don’t usually get the hotel breakfast in Spain because it is overpriced (with so many great, affordable options nearby), but this time the breakfast was included in our room rate. The breakfast was fantastic!!! There was American/British breakfast, Spanish breakfast, French items…. My wife and I were extremely pleased. PARKING: We did not use hotel parking so we can’t comment.

THE BATHROOM: The bathroom was our only complaint in this otherwise elegant hotel! Our particular room had a tub that didn’t drain, and it had one of those annoying half walls on the shower so it’s hard to keep the bathroom from getting wet. The hand towel rack is positioned down next to the toilet (not very sanitary!).

Location and facilties were great. A little walk to the centre but overall hotel was better than expected!

Loved the hotel itself and facilities but probably wouldn’t stay here again as it was very extremely difficult to get a taxi on a Sunday morning to the airport. The hotel staff couldn’t get a hang of any taxi by phone and there was no back up options. After running onto the main road with two massive suitcases we still couldn’t hail a taxi that was not occupied.. We resorted to begging a random Uber driver to take us to the airport in front of the hotel and offering more cash to get there somehow - very incredibly stressful experience! Would be nice if the hotel could think about other options for their guests particularly those with flights in the morning to ease stress.

From first walking through the front door, the hotel staff couldn't have been any more welcoming than they were. The staff instantly made us feel at ease, checking us in to our room and explaining all the facilities that were available in the hotel and meal times etc. The rooms were large and impeccably clean and the food offered at the hotel was fantastic with so much fresh choice on offer. I also liked the fact of how attentive the reception staff were when I explained that my luggage had been left at Manchester airport and could they contact me once it had arrived at the hotel. It was just exceptional service from the minute we arrived until we left 3 days letter. Would I revisit Hotel Balmoral, most definitely. Would I recommend Hotel Balmoral, most definitely. Thank you for having us and for a most wonderful stay at your beautiful hotel.

Nothing...there wasn't anything not to like.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, really very pleasant :) and the breakfast was great too, great variety and vegetarian options

There was a confusion upon arrival: we arrived at midnight and the hotel had previously confirmed they would have a crib ready in the room. However during check in they said they didn’t have any cribs Available, at all. It was a mistake apparently and we did have a crib at the end but it was a stressful half hour that we couldn’t put our sleeping baby anywhere because we didn’t have a room nor a crib.

My stay there will remain unforgettable! The room was as expected and with many amenities. The staff was amazing and very willing to help us with everything we needed. The cleaning service was top of its kind as everyday we felt we entered in the room for the first time (it was really clean!) and they could judge what was really trash and what might be needed. So I would really like to thank them for their service and I would totally recommend the hotel as it is also super close to everything!

Only the wifi was a bit slow in our room at least, but I guess it can happen. The rest was perfect! It's impossible to find something bad to write for this hotel!

An elegant hotel, located in a central area, all Barcelona attractions being easily accessible. Indeed, the Diagonal metro station is a short walking distance away, with lines L 3 and L5. The room is cleaned meticulously, daily, The breakfast is generous, worth the money. In the room there is a coffee machine(Nespres so) with capsules, which are replaced daily. I have no complaints about the quality of the hotel's services

Very professional staff, good room service, good breakfast, excellent location. There is nothing negative about this hotel.

The cot legs are fragile and shaky - though no incident took place, it will be good to inspect them. The whole experience of staying in the hotel was at par with any international star rated hotel - it would be nice to add a local touch- something Catalan, which will make the hotel unique vs. Others.

The location was excellent and a convenient spot almost to everywhere. 6-7 minutes to Rambla Catalunya. 10 minutes to Passeig de Gracia. It’s in a very safe location, and if you book a room without breakfast, there’s a cafe/bakery right across the road. And a mini market right next door.

The room was not perfectly clean on the first day but then it was better. Despite having multiple light sources the room felt quite dark. Even though the bed and pillows were very comfortable, during the night every move was “multiplied” and felt like a water bed.

The hotel was smart, clean, in a decent location just off Diagonal. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was good size, modern and well equipped.

The shower kept going hot and cold in the morning and during "dinner hour" getting ready times which was frustrating with a baby.

the room was lovely and the terrace was fabulous. we also had breakfast which was really good as well. Really close to La Rambla there their is a great buzz

The tv had loads of channels but not 1 English Channel except the news. was quite disappointed in that. The air con was very difficult to use and wasn’t very good at keeping the room cool.
