A1 Perfect room - perfectly appointed with all needs. Can smoke out the balcony pretty easy. Staff are professional and switched on. Sauna was small but worked well and the pool and roof area is great.

These rooms need a Nespresso machine and they'd be faultless. The room coffee offering and crappy kettle was weirdly lacking considering the high standard of eveything else. Which was top top notch. The daily breakfast was also a little lower quality than expected - even though smoked salmon on toast and eggs personally keeps me very happy. Had a struggle getting news on the tv.

Came back to one night at Axel after my Sitges holiday. Everything was almost as expected, warm weather meant that the pool area was very nice and it was great to relax in the afternoon on my last vacation day. Small gym is functional although some of the weights are clearly missing. Room was very clean again.

Safe was broken again. Guys, this is really an essential peace of equipment. Unlike on my previous stay, I didn’t get a functioning one. Maybe the functioning one was already in use ;) There are some other clear maintenance issues like door handles or sockets which are not properly in place.. Rooftop bar was still closed - guys at the reception told me that it opens in the next week. This information would be great to have in advance since Axel’s best thing is the pool/bar combo (with hopefully lots of guys) and that’s the main reason to book Axel.

The room was really well designed and we found it really comfortable. Our room was at the rear and overlooked a garden, so it was really quiet. We slept really well. We really enjoyed having the roof solarium, pool and bar. It was really good to have somewhere to chill and relax after a day of sight seeing. All the members of staff we engaged with were friendly and helpful.

On the whole the breakfast was really good, but the scrambled eggs and sausages weren’t that great. The sun beds on the solarium are getting to look a little tired. We couldn’t use one as the strings under the bed were undone and needed repair. The bright pink colour isn’t to my taste, but maybe others would like it.

The location was perfect just 1 minute from ROCAFORT metro station with lots of restaurants and small supermarkets nearby. The swimming pool on the 7th floor was great with slightly warm water and an amazing sun during our stay.

Apparently there was a "misunderstanding" regarding our room category... true that they do not have better rooms but according to BOOKING.COM description the room was supposed to have a corner panoramic view and a balcony... which ours did not have. Not worth going for an higher category when most of the superior rooms almost all had a balcony that would have been highly appreciated... it was what it was and all in all despite this it was a nice stay (again) at an AXEL hotel

Good location — lots of cafés and restaurants around. Good connection for the airport and metro station right on the corner. An open area on the roof is a plus. Clean and tidy rooms. Big mini-bar. Huge room service menu.

The soundproofing of the room leaves much to be desired. The street is quite busy with many garbage containers right in front of the hotel. So, if you have a "street facing" room, you could not even dream about late morning or early evening sleep. The rooms are clean but look a little "tired": there are many scratches and other damages everywhere. Order room service from the online menu — it's a nightmare. I believe hotel managers should try to do it by themselves first (expired SSL certificate and you should choose your hotel from a huge list first) Check your minibar during check-in. Sometimes there are missed items and the hotel tries to charge you. Really strange cleaning time (from 9:00) even in low season.

Stayed at this hotel before. Great location and easy to get to from main railway station. Nice part of city, near old city centre but close to good nightlife also. Facilities at this hotel are very good.

Unfortunately , this time the hot food at breakfast was old and inedible. Last time the breakfast was very good but not this stay. So on our second day we decided to visit the corner brunch/bar cafe. Cheaper, better and opened for breakfast at 7.00am and 30 seconds from the hotel ( also get to experience the morning city as a local ). In future we still will stay at this hotel but go next door for breakfast - not sure why the hotel management decided not to pay attention to the hot food offered at breakfast but from now on we will never think about having breakfast at the hotel. Strange really as the hotel generally is run at a very high standard ?

Reception staff is always friendly at Axel, it feels like you just came home. Axel’s best thing is the pool/bar combo (with hopefully lots of guys) and that’s my reason to book Axel (drinks selection in the bar is very mundane though with no specials). Location is good close to all the good bars and restaurants. Room is well equipped and the minibar is stocked enough to have a party in the room (didn’t need it personally). Room design is for my liking and they are spotless in this hotel.

It’s really funny how the gym door keeps on being difficult and broken every year… sunbeds should be cleaner in a hotel of this price point

The hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful, nothing more to ask.

The room we had (and it seems all rooms) have a special "very open space" layout in which the bed, sink toilets and shower are sort of merged into a single space with some glass separators. You cannot shower without being seen and you cannot go the to the toilet without being heard (100% of what happens). This is not the best setup if you are not expecting it.

Meeting Alan at the front desk was like seeing an old friend you have not seen in years. Very hospitable and accommodating. I must also do a shout out to the breakfast and cleaning staff who were top notch in their duties. Room was nice and quiet on a not so busy street. Fresh crisp linens and towels everyday. Location was less than one block to subway station and location also allowed for walking to many attractions. American style breakfast with great chocolate croissants! Many thanks to all who made our stay very enjoyable.

The safe in the room wasn’t working. We told the receptionist the day we checked in, he promised to arrange a visit from the caretaker(she was at lunch), but nobody showed up. The next day we told about the problem to another receptionist, the caretaker finally came, opened the safe and concluded, that the batteries were depleted. She said she would arrange the fix, but nobody showed up that day or the next day. So, at our check-out time after 4 days the safe wasn’t working still.
