The host were very friendly and approachable. The kitchen, hangout spaces, and bedrooms were very clean and well equipped. Moreover, the cost per night was very affordable, especially if you are booking last minute and in comparison to other hostels/options in the city.

Nothing specifically but the reception isn’t open 24/7. I suppose this is true for some other places as well, and you can probably approach the host on WhatsApp in case you need to outside reception hours.

The hostel was almost empty when I visited, I ended up being the only guest in the room which made it very convenient and comfortable (not sure if it would be the same when very crowded). The bed was ok. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the staff was friendly and responded quickly via Whatsapp. There were lockers in the rooms and also in the corridor, with some extra padlocks to borrow. I could leave my luggage in the corridor locker after check out. There was a construction site right in front on the street but there was no noise. There is a nice cafe for breakfast at about 5 min walking distance.

It's located a bit far from the city center (about 25 min on foot from Guggenheim), in an industrial area, so the sights around are not the nicest.

The hostel was very nice place - it was clean, the kitchen was well equipped. We stayed at shared room, there waws no problem with acces to the room due to the card, that everyone had. I would recommened it for everyone who doesn't have problem with shared space - you can even met some interesting people there. And the shared spaces was really good looking, there were even plants and i felt pretty comfortable there.

I can't find any negativity about this hotel.

When I stayed at the hostel it was not so busy, probably since it was on the outside of the city. That meant that the room, common room, and bathrooms, my friend and I had mostly to ourselves. The space was clean and the rooms were comfy. We ended up staying an extra day to recover a bit as we on the camino currently.

I was under the impression that the kitchen would have a stove or hot plate which it did not. That really limits your cooking options. Also, they offer tea and coffee for guests but there were no coffee filters at the moment so we couldn't really take advantage of that.

The staff member (Natalia) was very diligent. I arrived late hours and didn't have a towel prepared as agreed before my arrival (lil mistake, no problem) reached out to her throughout the hostel WhatsApp around 23:30 and immediately she responded and sorted it out right away (thanks! big time). The hostel is very clean and the rooms are big enough to feel comfortable.

Nothing bad to say

Easy and fast communication by WhatsApp about arrival, access, parking. parking area near by Comfortable beds (twin room) Clean facilities: kitchen, bathrooms Filter coffee available! Lidl near by!

Showers in both male and female bathrooms didn’t have anywhere to hand the shower head while you shower. Kitchen tiny.. can’t have more than 2 people at a time. Most of the time there’s no staff present: it’s all WhatsApp.

I really enjoyed my stay at Akelarre! The staff went out of their way to help me and were incredibly accommodating. The hostel itself was really clean and quiet in a really nice area with only 3 metro stops from the center. Cute main area and overall the best hostel experience I've had so far in Spain.

Everything was very clean and tidy! The hostel has everything you need at your disposal, even women hygiene products for a non expected moment. I really appreciated the detail. Loved the whole experience since the beginning. The staff was always reachable via WhatsApp which was very reassuring. Definitely a place I know I can star in Bilbao and will surely recommend!

Really appriciated the fact that the heating was on during evenings, cause many hostels do not put it on ( i mean, even the minimum, having energy savings on mind of course). Mercadona and some nice bars are close, center is 20min walking distance, and it is quite enjoyable walk

The service from the reception was beyond expectations. They messaged me in advance and accepted my small request with a smile. The service from the staff was excellent . The place is clean and taken care of very well. They explained very patiently even the smallest doubt i had being a first timer in Spain. They speak English well. The lobby was a nice place to sit with a lot of good vibes.
